Here at SafetyNet, we are committed to lending responsibly, which means
we are very careful when choosing how much to lend to our customers. We
carry out strict, bespoke affordability checks using a customer’s credit
file and bank transaction data. We will only lend what we believe to be
affordable and will not cause our customers financial difficulty.
Automatic repayments
SafetyNet repayments are designed to be taken automatically:
- Minimising the length of time a balance is outstanding
- Saving you interest
- We will only attempt for repayments up to this defined value in one calendar month
- Once this limit has been reached, no further automatic repayments will be taken
- This may be different from the minimum payment you must make each month
How do you access my bank data?
Access to your data is via a secure, encrypted channel under the
government initiative of Open Banking. We collect the following
information direct from your bank (once you have granted access);
- Bank account number and sort code
- Transaction data
- Balance data

No regrets. Safety Net Lifesaver
Safety Net Credit is so simple and easy to use. It can be accessed in mins even in a supermarket/petrol station when you are caught short. Renewing access is straightforward and takes mins. I will always use safety net for as long as it is available to me. It’s like having an overdraft. I don’t know where I would be financially without safety net

Works for me
Never really had an issue with safteynet the interest can be a little bit steep but that's sort of exspected and wouldn't say that's out of the norm also as someone with practically no credit history I was still able to use it without any issues so really have no complaints I've been using it off and on for awhile now and will most likely continue to do so in the future

Great Service

It’s great to be able to borrow what you need, and the credit limit is set based on your finances. What I really like is Safety Net regularly assess’ your account to make sure you remain in a positive position to be able to borrow and repay, this is done without judgement but so as to protect you from financial difficulties.

We have arranged for one of our Customer Care agents to contact you in order to talk you through any concerns you may have.
In the meantime, we would like to take the opportunity to explain how SafetyNet works, particularly in relation to repayments.
One of the features that makes SafetyNet unique is that there is no set repayment date.
When your balance increases in your linked bank account by £50 or more, an automatic repayment will be applied for. This reduces your SafetyNet balance, minimising the interest you pay.
When an automatic repayment occurs, we make sure the repayment will not leave you with less than £30 above your SafetyNet Level.
A SafetyNet Level is a user defined level that prevents unauthorised overdraft fees. This level is set to £20.00 above the authorised overdraft level by default.
If for any reason we cannot access your bank account information, automatic repayments will not be applied for.
We will then try to take full repayment when your salary is next paid into your account. The repayment will be taken via your debit card by using continuous payment authority.
Whenever a repayment is applied for you will be notified via email and text confirming whether this was successful or not.
SafetyNet is best described as a revolving credit facility, meaning the service can be reused whenever you need to and is not removed on a set date or after a fixed number of withdrawals.
If you wish to withdraw funds again after a repayment has been made, you simply log into your dashboard at any time and request your available funds. These funds are then deposited into your bank account, usually within 15 minutes.
