1 room does not accommodate 4 people as indicated
We booked for a family of 4, the room indicated so on the SA venues website. The establishment website is non-functional, so we couldn't find more info.
The room can only accommodate 2 adults and 1 child of 6 years and below. There we were, 2 adults, a 15 year old, and a 6 year old. The sleeping arrangements were horrible, no privacy when bathing and using the loo. we couldn't even have an extra room as it was fully booked.
Other wise the establishment is a state of the art, modern, clean environment, and proper breakfast. The staff is generally friendly, especially Percy from the reception. Besides all the odds, he made us feel at home.

A user friendly platform
A user friendly platform to find accommodation. Lots of options and things are presented well.
Only 2 things don't give it a 5 star:
1. The "sale"price I got turned out to be the same as if I had booked direct with the establishment at any time.
2. The arrangements for the balance payment were not clear, so I had to try and find out by reading all the Ts and Cs of payment and eventually contact the establishment directly (and make arrangements to eft them) because nothing was spelled out in my booking info.

The place needs serious cleaning
The place needs serious cleaning. My wife had to do thorough cleaning on day 2 and she came across dirt under the sofa and fridge that has been there for a long time because it was stuck on the floor for some time. There are multiple cock roaches crawling in every room. That on its own is a serious turn off. There is no DSTV and the remote was not working. Water leaks when you take a shower and spills onto the toilet floor. There is no towel in the kitchen.

Very different experiences
Very good experience when booking a self catering appartement in Knysna.
Very bad experience when trying to book a self catering cottage at Boschendal (Stellenbosch). First SA-Venues coudn't tell me the vacancies in a period of 10 days. Then the price should be doubled. When I asked about the price, it suddenly shoud be four times as high as first indicated.

Hi, thank you for your review. Unfortunately many establishments handle their own enquiries, so we need to get in touch with them to confirm availability before being able to quote you. It is their responsibility to keep their rates and info up to date, which many dont as they are on multiple platforms. When we spot a discrepancy in the rates or info we get in touch with them immediately and update accordingly. We do our very best to ensure you are quoted accurately and what is displayed is correct but the establishments themselves need to play their part too. I trust you understand.

Shocking experience
Shocking experience.
Booked penthouse according to your information - paid and then establishment tells me the penthouse has not been rented out for past three years! They don't know anything about your site advertising them.
Why do you advertise it, take my money, confirm the booking with emails, etc. and ALL FOR NOTHING!
Also there is no contact no. or real-time support from you.
Will never use SA-venues.

Hi Deborah. This is a really unfortunate situation. Ownership changed and the establishment did not inform us. It is the establishments responsibility to update their content which sadly they did not. We have since been in touch with them and have amended their advert. I believe our consultant has been in touch already to ensure you had an alternative and process your refund. Kindly note that our contact number and email is on all correspondence, making it easy for guests to get in touch at any time.
