Ate in. Looms paid 88 pounds for two ford the steak portion was for one not two
Asked for olive oil they had none bad kitchen they did not care

I was gifted a 2 night stay through the room 4reward scheme as a volunteer for St Barnabas -On arrival we were greeted by Susie - i express concern at the amount of steps as my mobility isnt good ( i jad mentioned this on booking) she gave us the room number on the ground floor but quickly said she also had an accessible room free if we would prefer that we could have it . The room was lovely - all of the staff were friendly & proffesional - we had a fabulous chilled time - the choice for breakfast was amazing & it was delicious unfortunately we couldnt afford a restaurant meal - thank you all for your kindness

Unfortunately, our wedding experience with Rutland Hall was extremely disappointing and fell far below the standard we expected for our wedding day.

Following the departure of our original coordinator (Emmie), communication virtually disappeared. We spent months chasing updates, arranging meetings ourselves, leaving repeated messages, and sending multiple follow-up emails simply to receive responses. Despite escalating our concerns to Yatin, little improved, and less than two months before the wedding we were still struggling to establish a reliable point of contact.

The situation reached a low point just two weeks before our wedding, we were told that we were "not a priority." No couple should ever hear that from a venue entrusted with hosting one of the most important days of their lives.

In the days leading up to the wedding, agreements that had previously been confirmed were denied, important details were overlooked, and responsibility was repeatedly avoided. We were forced to deal with issues that should have been identified and resolved by the venue long before they became problems. During one conversation with Katherine, our concerns were met with a defensive attitude and raised voices rather than accountability.

Sadly, these issues continued on the wedding day itself. The ceremony setup had been changed without consultation, agreed arrangements were not carried out, guest information and water were not placed as promised, and transport arrangements for guests including elderly family members were vertical non-existent. Confidence in the venue had deteriorated to the point where the groom felt compelled to personally inspect the setup on the morning of the wedding.

After the wedding, we raised these concerns in a detailed email, hoping that at the very least the venue's senior leadership would acknowledge the failures and take accountability for what had happened. Unfortunately, the response was just as disappointing as the experience itself.
Rather than recognising the issues we encountered, the Director & General Manager repeatedly stated, "we do not accept" throughout their response, refusing to acknowledge even the most obvious shortcomings. There was no meaningful accountability, no genuine apology, and no indication that lessons would be learned.

Leadership sets the standard for any business. When the Director & General Manager demonstrates an unwillingness to accept responsibility for clear service failures, it becomes far easier to understand why the same attitude was reflected throughout the wedding planning process.

What should have been a joyful and stress-free experience was overshadowed by poor communication, disorganisation, a lack of accountability and complete incompetence. We would strongly advise couples to think very carefully before booking their wedding at Rutland Hall.

If you are looking for professionalism, proactive communication, and confidence that your wedding will be managed competently, we would suggest you book somewhere else.

My husband and I thought we'd treat ourselves to a couple of nights away, Rutland only being and hour and a half away from home. Rutland Hall looked great and didn't disappoint in beautiful surroundings, lovely grounds and the views of Rutland Water are magnificent.

However, upon booking we chose a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package, paying in full upon booking. When receiving the booking confirmation, it stated that DBB actually means you get a £35 each contribution towards your meal. NOWHERE does it tell you that BEFORE you book and pay! This is very misleading, surely DINNER bed and breakfast should mean DINNER IS INCLUDED?? Has been in other hotels I've booked!

Oh well, £35 each should be ample for dinner we thought....naively it turned out once we saw the prices in the restaurant! It barely buys you a main meal! The food was very nice but was overpriced.

Also the room I booked stated "bathrobes" included....they were NOT!

Lovely staff, great service, beautiful place, let down by misleading booking details and overpriced restaurant.

For this reason, I would not book another stay at this hotel.

I’ve just had a wonderful stay at Rutland Hall. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful – nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are absolutely stunning and create such a peaceful atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the whole experience felt very enjoyable.This was my first visit, but it definitely won’t be my last. I would happily recommend Rutland Hall to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

I visit the hotel frequently and the staff are always happy to help and make your stay a good one, particularly Alison on reception who makes time to ensure all guests feel welcome. Good location and friendly atmosphere, my only issue is there are so many stairs to navigate.

We booked a ‘cosy double’ at £153. You could not swing a cat in it and the shower drained so slowly that the tray overflowed and flooded the tiny bathroom. This is the only hotel I have stayed in in my 72 years where you could only get into the ‘double bed’ from one side it was jammed against the wall because the room was so small. My legitimate complaint was fobbed off by the hotel who made zero concessions. Do not waste your money there.

Extremely poor hotel service. Receptionists were rude and unapproachable. I travel around the UK weekly for work and this is the only hotel that’s not let me check in slightly early. Had to wait in my car till exactly 3. Swimming pool is shut for a long while with no mention of this on website. Room was ok, not 4 star though. Room was freezing. Restaurant staff were rude. I must not have looked posh enough for them. Only good thing about the stay was the breakfast. I’m back in the area weekly for the next 6 months and I have told my company not to use this place anymore. Very un welcoming and non friendly place to stay. I left a day early.
