I just bought the rental cars CDW insurance for the second time. On the fist time, we had a small windscreen damage, just enough for the rental agency to change the whole windscreen. After the usual paperwork on both sides, Riverside restituted the full amount due. The price is unbeatable.

I purchased "full cover" insurance from this company for a car rented in Namibia. The "full cover" exists only on paper; they refused to pay a claim for a stolen wheel, first claiming it was considered "additional equipment" and later arguing that the insurance covered only the deposit. I am posting this review truthfully and in accordance with the law: they are scammers—they take your money but fail to honor the agreement.
I do not recommend buying insurance from them to anyone.

Three different employees apparently dealt with the renewal of my policy, each offering information that slightly differed from what his or her colleaugues wrote. I could only pay by creditcard, though i wanted to give a permanent payment instruction on my regular bank-account. All responses were prompt and respectful, I should add.

The renewal reminder arrived in good time. The information was clearly presented and the cost represents very good value for money.

My emails were answered quickly and with good information. The team obviously know their products.

Tuve un problema con el alquiler del vehículo el día posterior al gran apagón que se sufrió en España. No se me entregó el vehículo en la empresa de alquiler de vehículos Sicily By Car Rent a Car de la terminal de Ibiza. Al no entregarse el vehículo el seguro es nulo de pleno derecho pues no hay tomador, conductor, vehículo asegurado y ni tan siquiera se firma el contrato de alquiler que según sus condiciones da comienzo a la cobertura. Al reclamar el importe pagado a través de Orchard Administration Limited, empresa que gestiona las reclamaciones desde 2014 (con copia a Riverside Insurance Agency Malta LTD) se desentienden del asunto y me remiten al intermediario, en este caso DoyouSpain. Aquí entramos en un circulo vicioso pues tengo sentencia firme de un Tribunal de Instancia de Castellón de la Plana donde se falla en el sentido de que DoyouSpain es un mero intermediario y que en todo caso debo dirigirme directamente a la empresa aseguradora. Así las cosas, lo desaconsejo completamente pues en caso de tener complicaciones, tocará presentar una demanda en España contra una empresa que tiene su sede en Malta o Reino Unido si hablamos de quien gestiona sus reclamaciones (esta última ni tan siquiera pertenece a la Unión Europea) con los consiguientes gastos de traducciones juradas... etc. Lo barato a veces sale caro.

I have arranged Policy Excess Insurance cover for some years through various companies. I am a UK National living in Spain and there is a limited number of Insurance companies that `provide this cover.
I had the misfortune to experience a claim following minor damage to a rental vehicle and throughout, the claim all of my correspondence was replied to professionally and correctly with useful information and explanation. The claim ultimately being paid without any deduction, the only delays being me getting the relevant information from the car hire company who did not respond quite as quickly.
I can thoroughly recommend Riverside Malta for ex-pat (or any other) policy excess cover.

I tried to cancel my insurance but had to pay anyway.

I got an nice answer and they informed me that I could sitll cancel. But I do not know whether I have cancelled or not. Very unclear on the website.

Llevo ya unos años contratando esta cobertura de coches de alquiler y la verdad que contento. En una ocasión tuve que dar un parte de siniestro por unos daños en el vehículo y se resolvió todo a través de su plataforma correctamente.

Una volta chiarito che la precedente polizza era ormai scaduta e non più rinnovabile, ho seguito le vostre indicazioni e ho avviato la procedura per acquistarne una nuova, come se fossi un nuovo cliente.

È proprio durante questa nuova procedura che ho riscontrato le difficoltà. Più volte ho contattato il vostro servizio di assistenza perché non riuscivo a completare l'acquisto. Ogni volta mi ha risposto una persona diversa, che mi chiedeva nuovamente le stesse informazioni e gli stessi screenshot già inviati ai colleghi precedenti. Nessuno sembrava avere una visione completa della pratica e ho dovuto ripetere tutto da capo più volte, con una notevole perdita di tempo.

Il punto della mia recensione non era la scadenza della vecchia polizza, ormai chiarita fin dall'inizio, ma la scarsa efficacia e il mancato coordinamento del servizio di assistenza durante l'acquisto della nuova polizza.

Alla fine sono riuscito a completare l'acquisto esclusivamente grazie alle mie competenze informatiche, individuando da solo la soluzione. Se non avessi avuto tali competenze, con ogni probabilità non sarei riuscito a concludere la procedura.

La vostra risposta su Trustpilot, purtroppo, sposta l'attenzione su un aspetto che non è oggetto della mia recensione e lascia intendere erroneamente che il problema fosse una mia incomprensione. Non è stato così. La mia esperienza riguarda esclusivamente la qualità dell'assistenza ricevuta, che, a mio giudizio, è stata frammentata, ripetitiva e priva di una reale capacità di risolvere il problema.

This is a very unique product on the market.
I regularly rent cars for personal trips and was looking to get an insurance that works for the entire year for all my rentals. The conditions looked good, tyres, glasses included.
I haven't had yet any claims to make, so no comments on that. Hopefully won't need to...
