Clarify Scope and Deliverables Carefully Before Proceeding
I engaged with Ritu to discuss ManyChat automation for growth and sales, which was clearly stated in my outreach and discussed during our call. Following this, I shared information about my programs, onboarding flow, client journey, and scheduling — all relevant to automation and backend setup.
In a written call summary shared by Ritu, automation was referenced as a next step post offer creation. Based on this, I proceeded with the expectation that automation-related implementation would follow once aligned.
However, the work that was eventually delivered did not include chatbot automation or ManyChat setup, and instead consisted of general content that was not applicable to the intended use.
When I raised this concern, the response focused on policy interpretation and the absence of a formal written scope, rather than on the documented intent and discussion trail.
I’m sharing this review for transparency, so future clients — especially those seeking technical or automation services — ensure that scope, deliverables, timelines, and implementation responsibilities are explicitly documented and confirmed in writing before proceeding.
Communication was professional, but the final outcome did not align with my understanding of the engagement.

I’d like to add a brief clarification for context for anyone reading this.
The initial conversation and email outreach were around discussing automation, which we did. Any done-for-you implementation — including ManyChat setup — is always taken up only after a clearly defined scope, written proposal, and confirmed agreement. In this case, that confirmation for DFY automation was never finalized.
The work that was delivered aligned with the active, paid scope at the time, and automation was discussed as a possible next step, not a confirmed deliverable. This distinction was also reflected in the written call summary shared after our discussion.
That said, I respect that expectations didn’t align in the end. The feedback around making scope and deliverables even more explicit upfront is fair, and I’ve taken it on board to improve clarity for future clients.
