Mark Torres at Ricoma

Mark Torres helped me through my process of trying to get my 2nd head working on my embroidery machine. He got back to me quick, sent me 'how to' videos, and would call and set up video chats to guide me. He was always very patient and understanding through the process which took a few days because of a new problem coming up. I will definitely be asking for Mark in the future!

SWD 1501 8S Timing and Rotary hook replacement

My SWD 1501 8S had some timing issues and I had to replace the rotary hook, my picker was not moving forward and backward. I had a zoom with Mark Torres and just under 1 hour and 20 minutes we had it backup and running beautifully. Thanks to Mark Torres for his patience and support. Great tech support from Ricoma.

Arel was very knowledgeable

Arel was very knowledgeable. His expertise worked me through a very difficult problem with my Ricoma machine. It went from difficult to very easy to fix. He took the time out to call me back twice. It was only because of him I was able to get the machine back up and running for a big job that I had. Arel saved the day. I appreciate his time experience and expertise because none of the videos had the fix that I needed. Thank you so much!

Worse embroidery machine EVER ricoma 1501 MT

I thought I was buying the ricoma 1501 mt with the newest computer screen however they sold me the old out of date version. It should not even be on the market because it is so out of date. Customer service is a joke- all they do is send you a YouTube video a day later and if that video doesn’t work wait a day and get another one. It is so hard to use and doesn’t do much at all . I wasted my money and I am very upset every month making the payment.

Great customer experience

I had a 50 hat order and much was going wrong with my machine. After trying to troubleshoot everything on my own, I called customer care and I must say Tristan J . thoroughly walked me through, very patiently, trying to navigate the problem and he was able to identify the issue. Even after the 1hr long phone call he followed up with me, via email, to make sure that all was still well. I love my EM1010. And I’ve had nothing but great experiences with the Ricoma team.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM RICOMA

After 18 months of light use my Vision DTG printer stopped working. I've worked with Ricoma and tried every suggestion for part replacement to repair my printer. It's been 5 months and thousands of dollars spent, and my printer is still down. They lack effective communication and accountability. No one can tell me if replacing these parts will actually fix my problem; it's all a suggestion. I've lost countless sales while Ricoma drags their feet to answer a simple email. In an attempt to receive community support I visited Ricoma's Facebook page for Vision owners and it's filled with other dissatisfied customers. This machine is a lemon and Ricoma's tech department is unequipped to effectively resolve the issues customers are facing.

Most expensive regret

Title: $18,000 Mistake — Be Very Cautious Before You Buy from Ricoma

In 2023, I made what I thought was a promising investment by purchasing a 20-needle embroidery machine from Ricoma. It turned out to be a major disappointment — not because of the machine itself, but because of broken promises, poor support, and a complete lack of accountability.

The salesman who sold me the machine assured me that if I was unhappy, I could sell it back to the company. That turned out to be false. He’s no longer with Ricoma, and when I reached out for help, the new salesperson tried to help but ultimately nothing came of it. Ricoma did not honor what was promised to me during the sale.

When I tried to sell the machine via Craigslist, I referred several interested buyers directly to Ricoma, thinking they could take over the payments. Instead, Ricoma turned around and sold them brand-new machines, telling them that assuming my loan would be too complicated. So while I was trying to offload my machine, Ricoma used my leads to make more sales — and left me stuck.

To make matters worse, I found out too late that the $18,000 price tag was just the beginning. You’ll likely need to spend $2,000 or more on additional hoops, digitizing software, and other accessories — none of which were made clear upfront. The training? Video-based and not hands-on. The digitizing software? Overwhelmingly complex unless you’re already tech-savvy — and many users end up outsourcing it anyway, racking up more expenses.

The embroidery business can be profitable, but only if you’re well-prepared and have a strong customer base. I’ve struggled to find clients willing to pay enough to make this worthwhile — and Ricoma hasn’t offered meaningful solutions.

So here I am, still the owner of a machine I want to sell, with no help from Ricoma and no way out unless I find a buyer with good credit and enough cash to pay off my loan. If you’re considering Ricoma, do not assume what the sales rep tells you is reliable or backed by the company.

If I could go back, I would have spent that $18,000 on a new car instead. At least that would’ve come with a warranty that means something.

Great Support

Just got my machine and trying to use it before the training, ran into some issues. So I called spoke with Dee Ballbada and she got most of the issues done right then. But she ended up calling me back the following day with the rest of the issues I was having. Great support!

Customer service has been nothing but…

Customer service has been nothing but helpful.
My sewing machine arrived and when I began putting it together I realized I had not recieved the motor. I emailed customer service and heard back from them quickly. My motor was shipped out the very same week.
Once I was able to resume assembly I noticed the drawer was cracked more than likely during shipping, again customer service was very responsive. I have not yet completely assembled my sewing machine just yet, but should any other troubles arise I am confident that customer service will be ready and willing to support my needs.

Mighty Hoop

Shirlen Aguilar did an excellent job of patiently walking through the resolution to my problem. She was knowledgeable and kind and answered all of my questions or offered to research my question and send me a link of where to find the answer. I would happily call on Shirlen again if I get stuck like I did this time. And when she said she needed to research, she always got back to me. Thank you Shirlen for getting me up and embroidering.

I purchased a Ricoma Vision

I purchased a Ricoma Vision. I financed it with Affirm. I purchased in 2024 and have had 2 shirts that came our. fairly ok. I have emailed continuously for help and they get back to in a few days. First they said it was the low humidity so we corrected that. Then they said that the design wasn't any good, when clearly on the Vividrip screen and on the printer was actually very clear. I got some designs that were professionally made and still it was my fault that it doesn't turn out. So, I went to Affirm and asked for a dispute to be filed. It still went to Ricoma's favor. It is junk. if anyone has any ideas on how to avoid paying for this piece of junk please let me know.
