Rethink Drink offer a revolutionary approach to alcohol recovery through The Sinclair Method (TSM). This method is a scientifically proven, innovative treatment, aimed at not just managing but fundamentally transforming one's relationship with alcohol. It allows individuals to gain control over their drinking, whether they choose to reduce their alcohol consumption or cease it altogether. It’s about facilitating choice and empowerment, rather than imposing abstinence, allowing individuals to reshape their lives on their own terms.

Game Changing!
I read about The Sinclair Method in a newspaper article and it sparked my interest to find out more and ultimately led me to finding Rethink Drink.
I knew I was no longer in control of my drinking and had been unable to address it myself and was at the point I knew I had to do something.
Matt guided me through the whole process and throughout he was down to earth, kind, empathetic and unwavering in his support, encouragement and patience.
Like others who have left reviews I can honestly say the programme has been a game changer for me. Prior to beginning it, I couldn't contemplate a day without at least a bottle of wine. 1 year on, alcohol no longer has a hold on me, I can take it or leave it. I occasionally have a few glasses of wine on a weekend. For me now to be in control is the most fantastic feeling and one I could never have imagined.
It completely baffles me why this method is not offered on the NHS. I cannot thank Matt and the Rethink Drink Team enough for the work they are doing, they are truly changing lives!
Steve has been a breath of fresh air…
Steve has been a breath of fresh air and a great source of comfort and advise. The Sinclair method (using naltrexone) is an absolute game changer. I have tried the Priory and AA and what they don't tell you are two things, 1 a 90% failure rate in first year and 2, there is an alternative. I did not like being associated with a cult and Rethink Drink allows me to enjoy life without the pressure of being told You Can't Drink. The Sinclair Method is working for me and I am enjoying life again. Naltrexone should be available on the NHS in the long run it would save £££££££'s
Thank you!!
I’m not going to write a cheesy review but when I say rethink drink saved me and my career I mean it.
I knew I had been struggling with alcohol abuse for about 9 months before I had the courage to reach out for help. My first experience was with AA where I was told I had to go stone cold sober and have the willpower to never touch alcohol again- simply put, during every meeting all I was thinking was how excited I was to open a bottle of vodka after and I did every time.
A TikTok popped up on my for you page by rethink drink and it spoke about how alcoholism isn’t being addicted to the drink itself but the endorphins released and therefore fighting a hormonal addiction can be treated with medication and not just a mindset. You no longer have to be sober to be a recovered alcoholic.
Drunk, I signed up and it was the best decision I could’ve made. I had my medical evaluation with a qualified GP who specialised in treating alcohol abuse with naltrexone and I discovered I was drinking around 100 units a week.
Being only 18 years old I felt embarrassed and ashamed going into my first coaching session but my coach Steve was so kind and welcoming I instantly felt understood, especially when he shared his experience and how it correlated to mine.
I am now 6 months after my first coaching call and I have gone from 100 units weekly to 30 units and now having the choice whether I want to drink or not.
Not only do I physically look healthier but I am doing so much better in my work, mental health and life in general. (I know that sounded cheesy but I don’t know how else to put it) and I now have the choice whether I want to drink, how much to drink and when to drink all because of a pill and an amazing coach
Thank you Steve and thank you Rethink Drink!!!!!
Not judgemental or pushy
Not judgemental or pushy. Matt was so friendly and helpful and made the whole thing easy to understand and easier to do. Tried loads of other methods before this that didn't work but this is a different thing altogether
Try it.
Rethink drink and the sinclair method is an absolute game changer. Having struggled with my relationship with alcohol for several years it's no exaggeration to say that this method has revolutionised my life. I feel like I have control again and it's improved all aspects of my life, work, relationships, self esteem. Taking naltrexone one hour before drinking coupled with an excellent coach in Steve who will guide you through the whole process without judgment is all it takes. What was previously a seemingly impossible task is now possible. I can't recommend this and rethink drink enough. Thank you to all the team 🙏
A Wife's Perspective
PJ and me have been together for 16 years and drink has always been there - like a second wife that I didn't want or sign up for (actually more like a second husband I didn't invite to the wedding - there was 'my PJ' and then 'drunk PJ' and they were very different)
He never drank in the house but would often disappear, turn up days later, skint, hungover and full of promises and apologies, until even they stopped
So, we started Rethink Drink.
I say we - but really PJ signed up. I was super sceptical. Another thing to try, but Matt seemed to know what he was talking about - he'd tried the same things PJ had. PJ had tried AA (which I find weird - first thing you say is your name?!), cold turkey and tablets from the doc that turned out to be vitamins. None of that worked long term
Back to rethink Drink:
PJ was focussed - I'd seem that before
He said this would work - I'd heard that before
But i thought, give it a go, we haven't tried this yet
I know PJ is capable of bigger and better things (more than just getting pissed)
I'll be honest, I was disappointed when Matt said "keep drinking the usual amount".
Like what? PJ's now encouraged to drink? Isn't that the opposite of what we're meant to do? i wanted him to stop full stop - 'not manage it'
But Matt encouraged me too, answered every question, was always there (not like calls at 3am, but nothing was off the table)
So we got going
One early suggestion was try drinking in the house. I thought 'great now I have to deal with him drunk in the house, but ok what else have we got to lose?'
Then, getting drunk stopped being an issue - WTF?
Not just for him - for me. It had been a trigger: pacing the house if he was out, knowing he'd come home loud, argumentative, hard to deal with. That went away
And it went pretty quickly, though we had so much else going on at the time that I didn't notice exactly when it changed
This was during one of the hardest times we've faced as a family - and suddenly PJ's drinking was no longer an issue
Where are we now?
Honestly, i couldn't give a rat's ass if PJ drinks or not. I don't even ask anymore. If he's out late I leave the door unlocked (don't burgle me I'm poor). Rough the next day? Sick bowl and my super duper awful hangover cure (slight wife revenge - recipe on request)
There's no trigger for me now.
And PJ? He's more settled, excited about the future, making plans, revamping old projects and starting new ones. Not the angry pissed off guy he was just 14 weeks ago, hiding in the pub, making promises he couldn't keep and kicking himself for it later. He's back to being 'my' PJ - the guy I married
We've got a lot closer (I could go into detail but trust me you don't want me to) Intimacy is easier and a lot more enjoyable. We're more open, no worry i might upset him and he'll go tot he pub. We feel rock solid - ready for the next drama (and this time it won't be booze related - I don't think it ever will be again)
I'm so proud of PJ but it's more than what it's done for him. I see a change in me too. No issues, worries or triggers with alcohol anymore. Now I just get to moan at PJ about normal wife stuff - like 'why can't you ever find anything?'
So, if you're unsure, on the fence - just go for it. It's worth it.
(And no one pays me to say this stuff - I do it for free!)
Are you a wife suspicious that this 'dodgy new guy' on the internet is encouraging your man to drink?
Don't sweat it - it's part of the process. Give him the space and support to go through it. You'll be thanking him and Matt later
To sum up:
How would it feel to not give a rat's ass if your partner drank or not?
If your answer is 'it would be awful, he must stop drinking now', encourage him to stay in AA and cross your fingers
If your answer is 'that would be awesome' - hit up Matt in a DM.
Trust me, it works. He knows what he's talking about.
It won't just change alcohol - it'll change your life
The short version
We've been together for 16 years. Alcohol was PJs second wife - not the nice kind
Rethink Drink didn't just change how he drinks - it changed everything
No trigger, no drama, no walking on eggshells
Just my PJ back, our marriage stronger and me free to moan about he usual wife stuff
If you're on the fence - jump. It's worth it
Yes, he drinks sometimes. No, I don't care anymore
And no Matt didn't pay me to say this (but I wouldn't say no to a box of Yorkshire tea mate, just saying)
A game changer and life saver
I can’t praise the Rethink Drink team and TSM enough. I’ve got my life and self respect back, together with renewed respect and pride from my partner, son and friends.
Having an unhealthy, daily alcohol habit for many years, which displayed increasingly in my behaviour, I knew I needed to take responsibility and do something about it.
I had approached and enrolled with local NHS services twice and had been terminated (twice) as I could not be available in person for all sessions, living part of the year abroad. I didn’t want abstinence; I enjoyed a drink, I needed moderation.
I was delighted to discover on the internet an approach that appeared to meet all my needs; medication (Naltrexone) to stop craving (sensible – smokers and drug users get this on the NHS!) and reroute the neural endorphin pathway,
moderation or abstinence as a choice, on-line support and coaching sessions.
I gave Bruce a call, chatted with the expert doctor and my incredible journey began with great excitement – my last chance. Progress has been amazing; with exemplary, empathetic support from Matt and encouraging group Zoom coaching calls hosted by Bruce, Matt and Steve. It’s very liberating to chat about progress with people on the same, but differing, journeys.
Matt introduced habitual changes gradually and comfortably at my own pace to a level where I can say I’m comfortable where I am. Cheers – this has been a game changer and life saver. I have got me back.

The rethink drink programme has…changed my life
The rethink drink programme has positively changed my relationship with alcohol. From a position where I was drinking heavily nearly everyday I'm now in control of the amount I drink which has greatly changed my life for the better. The counselling from Matt has been excellent from someone who was in the same position as me. That combined with the prescribed naltrexone medication and I am a complete advocate of thr programme. Abstinence is not the only way to conquer alcohol dependency. I am living proof of that. This is a successfully trialled and ongoing alcohol reduction programme which can help many more like me

Progress not perfection says it all
Progress not perfection says it all. Too intimidated by abstinence based programmes, Bruce’s Rethink Drink livestream came up on my fyp and I was instantly intrigued. I thought it was too good to be true so I did my own independent research on TSM then contacted the team. Only 8weeks into TSM, I’ve seen significant progress. I’m consuming fewer units, my cravings and pace of drinking has drastically decreased, I have alcohol free days and am comfortable not anxious during social situations. The biggest thing that has changed is, during stressful and traumatic moments, I have not reached for alcohol to deal with the anxiety and pain. TSM has enabled me to face my traumas and start my healing journey. Naltrexone works and deals with the addiction. The support from the team is as crucial to the process. My one to one support meetings with Bruce has been an essential factor for my progress so far. Bruce goes through TSM, answers questions, reassures and inspires and has helped ease my fears about failure. The group zoom meetings (of which I was wary and sceptical) are a safe, fun space to learn, listen and share. The most surprising aspect is how I am learning to change my attitude to all aspects of my life. I’m reexamining my habits and am making small changes to my daily routine. I never thought I’d be in the position where I could say I’m in control of my drinking and I have significantly reduced the amount of alcohol I consume. I still have a way to go but trusting in the process, trusting in the support, knowing others have succeeded has given me the confidence to know I can do this.

Rethink drink is the best thing I’ve ever done
The naltrexone takes away any notion to drink
Matt was my councillor. He was amazing, no judgement absolutely understood me because he had been in the same place.
I can’t recommend this program enough.
It’s not expensive it’s so much less than I was spending a week on wine 👍
Life Changing
Joining Rethink Drink is probably one of the best things I have ever done. Having heard about The Sinclair Method I just thought Rethink Drink was to provide the tablets I needed. How wrong I was. The support Matt offered during my journey was invaluable. At times I thought I couldn't do it Matt gave me the strength to carry on.
And I made it. As a result of undertaking The Sinclair method with Rethink Drink for the first time in 66 years I have a completely different relationship with alcohol - I don't need it!
Rethink Drink and Matt, cannot thank you enough.
I tried the Sinclair method and was…
I tried the Sinclair method and was blown away how much it helped me , I had a coach named Steve who was brilliant gave me advice,
And was there if I had questions or wobbles , I highly recommend this way for facing ur demons , it’s totally changed my bad habits with drinking :) the best thing I ever did.
TSM has changed my life for the better
I have been struggling to control my drinking all my adult life and nothing had worked. After years of berating myself for being so weak, it has been incredible to find that the Sinclair Method has not only helped me to decrease my alcohol consumption massively, but also effortlessly. I am now consistently drinking less than a third of my previous average weekly intake and easily managing a day or two off every week, without ever feeling deprived or craving more. I still have a way to go but I am really happy with my progress so far and I only wish that I had discovered this treatment 40 years ago.
Life changing
Why did we not know about this treatment till now? I’ve had a recent holiday with my husband of many years and it was normal. We didn’t argue at all. We went out for meals and sometimes he had a beer or a glass of wine, even two and sometimes we had a coffee or ginger beer just like normal people do. He never looked glassy eyed, staggered or became argumentative or ordered another round before anyone else had touched theirs. I wasn’t boring or spoiling his holiday. No arguments about how many drinks he had or hadn’t had next day. He didn’t have to translate the menu watching for any hidden alcohol in sauces the way we did with the NHS treatment. Nobody here thinks he is weak or a waste of space or refused to see him unless he was sober. It was as if he wasn’t an alcoholic at all.
If this feels like your life, ring them, sign up today and you can be normal too. Yes, it’s private but think how much better off you will be when you don’t have to pay for a divorce.
I’ve got my life back! Alcohol 0 & SJ 1
I owe so much to the Sinclair method for changing my whole relationship with alcohol! I have always had an issue with alcohol and it had started to take over my life, it was consuming my mind and ruining my life. I never had an interest in complete abstinence. I had tried this countless times before and I always seemed to fail! Why??! Bruce explained it all to me - it’s because of endorphin! “You crave alcohol because of the endorphins it gives you!” I was never going to be at peace white knuckling it or going cold turkey! Because there was an incessant buzzing inside my head and a constant craving for alcohol. This would , in turn mean , that I would continue to drink over the years and it would get progressively worse - affecting friendships, relationships , self esteem , self worth. I was DESPERATE & so I happened by chance to come across TSM online and I reached out to Katie Lain who is alcohol free since starting on the Sinclair method a few years ago. She put me in touch with Matt and Bruce at RETHINK DRINK and I jumped at the chance to make the change as the depression and anxiety was at an all time high. TSM , Bruce and all the team at Rethink Drink have given me back my zest and joy for life! I no longer crave alcohol, I no longer think about it all the time, I can now take it or leave it. I am finally the girl who can moderate what she drinks, I can now stop at one glass of wine!
TSM has transformed the way I think about alcohol & how I consume alcohol. I am so grateful to Bruce & Matt for helping me find my inner peace. Please keep up the amazing work that you do! I know it’s been a hard slog getting your message out there. But if my message can help in any way I want to shout it from the rooftops!!!
Best money I've ever invested
I told my coach on day one that I wasn't very optimistic that this treatment could help me, but I was willing to give it a shot. And I can't believe how effective it's been. Things have changed so much for me, and in such a low-effort way, that I will recommend this approach and this company to anyone who will listen!
Matt was an amazing coach, I felt so supported and like he was super invested in getting a great outcome. The doctor I saw was the least judgemental doc I've ever interacted with!
I wish I'd known about this years ago, it's honestly been life changing. There have been positive repercussions in every aspect of my life.
P.S. If you're put off by the cost, just know that it will pay off massively given the money you'll end up saving in the medium/long term. I really feel that this is easily the best way I could ever have invested that money.
It works – thank heavens
If you are reading this because you are considering joining Rethink Drink, please do not hesitate. When I began researching The Sinclair Method, I honestly thought it sounded too good to be true. If I hadn’t taken that leap of faith and signed up almost four months ago, I would still be trapped in that awful cycle of drinking, insomnia, anxiety, frustration and guilt that had blighted my life for far too long.
Over the last thirty years, I have tried to cut down on alcohol many times, and in many different ways. Nothing worked and I blamed myself, for being weak and lacking willpower. Deep down, I didn’t want – or wasn’t ready – to give up alcohol completely. But I had completely lost control. I would wake up in the morning worrying about the effect my 70-100 units a week was having on me, mentally and physically. By 6pm that same day, I would find myself reaching for the bottle again. On the days I did manage to abstain, I was simply white knuckling it through and I had no faith in my ability to keep it up.
I came across The Sinclair Method purely by accident. I can’t believe now that it had never come up during one of my endless Google searches for help. From the moment I pressed that Launch button, I felt better – simply knowing I had taken a significant step towards wresting back control.
Initially, I was mostly interested in the medication – the programme involves taking Naltrexone one hour before drinking – and I didn’t think I needed or even necessarily wanted the counselling that goes hand-in-hand with it. I have had counselling for my alcohol dependency before and it didn’t make any difference. In fact, when it didn’t work, I felt even more of a failure.
This was very different. The sessions I have had with Steve have been crucial in helping me to understand why alcohol had such a grip on me and what I needed to do to find the freedom I craved. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Steve properly listened to me and made the effort to get to know and understand me and my dependency. He also candidly shared his own experiences, which made an enormous difference and really helped bolster my own self-esteem, which had taken such a battering.
Throughout, Steve has been patient, understanding, encouraging and positive, especially on the weeks when I didn’t do as well as I’d hoped. He made it clear he would always be available if I ever needed extra support outside the regular Zoom sessions. He let me work through the programme and my own specific issues in my own time without ever putting any pressure of me. This, I feel, has been key to my being able to manage my relationship with alcohol and obtain the peace of mind that brings, which is priceless.
To be clear, this is not a quick fix. If it was, it wouldn’t be as effective. You have to take the medication, and you sometimes have to be patient and continue to trust the process. But it works – thank heavens. Signing up with Rethink Drink has been one of the best things I have ever done. I honestly cannot recommend Steve and the team highly enough.
Simply life changing
Simply life changing! Amazing support from the team throughout and it never felt like a struggle but 100% I feel like I have control of alcohol now rather than it controlling me. It just works.
At last — getting control over alcohol
At last, I've got that viscous alcohol monkey off my back. The monkey that was increasing its vice-like grip on me. And that has blighted my life for past 30 plus years. With the help of Bruce from Rethink Drink I am in the process of being cured from alcohol use disorder (AUD). The Rethink Drink programme has turned a dream — gaining control over alcohol — into a reality. Thanks to the programme, which involves taking a medicine called naltrexone along with both one-to-one and group coaching and support, I've gradually, calmly and easily dropped my alcohol consumption from 60-70 units a week to between zero and 15 units a week. Unthinkable, for me, in the past. This means that now, I'm having days (and even weeks) where I don't drink alcohol at all. And nor do I want to. It's a miracle! A scientific, medical miracle — a contradiction in terms I know but I'll take it all day, every day. I'm based in Ireland but my location is not a barrier as Rethink Drink is a location-independent programme. Thanks to the Rethink Drink Programme, the booze is slowly but surely moving from the (unwanted) centre of my life to the fringes. Bruce is an expert coach who has given me full support and guidance on this journey to a new me. While naltrexone has erased most of my alcohol cravings, quelled the aggravating alcohol chatter in my head and put me in increasing control of alcohol, Bruce has been my torch bearer on this path, lighting the way and helping me to avoid roadblocks and pitfalls on the way. I cannot recommend Bruce and Rethink Drink highly enough. If you are thinking about punching that monkey off your back and giving yourself the gift of a new, better life, don't hesitate to sign up to the Rethink Drink Programme today.

Had a abstinence based recover and kept falling. Heard about this programme and IT just made sense to treat alcoholism with medication along side a plan.
Great support, great 1 to 1 worker. Always there for me and he was very knowledgeable.
