Unprofessional. Difficult to communicate with. Their service was fast, I will say that, but very low quality. After ordering a resume, I wrote to my writer a couple times with additional details and she did acknowledge she had received my messages, her work did not reflect that at all. Plus, I am now being charged $39.95/mo and I don't know why and I don't know how to reach anyone there. Stay away!

I was going to give a review after I received my resume but decided to wait. I'm glad that I did since I've had issues now that they have my money. The resume turned out ok, but I had issues with their guarantee. I've gone over 3 months with no interviews and continuous denial emails. This is for a field that I have 10 years experience in and have even dropped below my actual salary requirements. Come to find out when you ask for a refund (as promised), there's a catch. You have to have applied to a minimum of 40 jobs. On top of that you have to somehow download each "certified" email response. After numerous tickets created, some of which have gone over a week with no response, I'm still in the same spot....waiting for someone to respond. I had my resume audited by another resume company and the VP of a reputable company. The conclusion of both was that the resume was good, but left out quantitive information, no LinkedIn account and looked dated based on the header. If you want your resume done correctly the first time, a company that will answer the phone or return you call, provide a prompt response to any tickets you open, then I recommend using another company. I made the change to another company and have had 3 interviews in just two weeks time.

The process from start to finish was very easy, and the communication was amazing. I was in a crunch to either update my resume myself or outsource it. I found the Resume Writing Group via a Google search, and the reviews made my decision very easy. This company has the blind leading the blind. They are amateurs posing as professionals: they have zero communications skills, are glacially slow, and flout a customer's needs. In the end, they take your money and run.

I engaged Resume Writing Group to draft my resume on an expedited basis while I was actively searching for new opportunities. Although they delivered a resume quickly, the results were disappointing. For the first two months after using their version, I did not receive a single interview call despite applying to more than 40 positions.
Recognizing the issue, I reached out to them and requested their money-back guarantee, which they advertise prominently. I provided evidence of my applications via email, but instead of honoring their commitment, they insisted on receiving confirmation emails from employers. This requirement is unrealistic in today’s hiring environment, as most companies no longer send acknowledgment emails for applications. It became clear that they were exploiting this loophole to avoid issuing refunds, making their guarantee misleading at best and a scam at worst.

I reached out to these guys because they seemed reputable and competent. I come from a military background so I was happy to entrust them with translating the skills and competencies gained in the military to a civilian-ized resume. My writer (I've heard from her once, and that was only when the resume was completed) asked me the standard stuff - what'd you do in the service, etc, etc. I told her, and she literally copied and pasted what I conveyed to her in my email response and generated my resume word-for-word based on what I had provided. I could have done that myself.

I spoke with Ryan over the phone a couple times to ensure I clearly understood their money back guarantee. I also have our chat dialogues saved confirming my understanding of their policy. After 90 days of not finding work and 90 job applications submitted using their product, customers are refund eligible.

So, since President Trump's administration has absolutely raped the working class economy in general, and the job market specifically, nobody can find a job. I'm a certified PMP, have a masters degree, and I cannot even get one interview. [Following is edited for readability] I informed them before I signed on with their service that it would be a tall task indeed if their product, or any product, would land me an interview, let alone a job, short of my demonstrated capabilities of walking on water for a minimum of five years to compete for an entry-level walk-on-water role.

I more than exceeded the requisite number of applications using their product, with not a single interview to show for it. Resumes and cover letters tailored to the job announcement, and nothing. Crickets. Roughly 70% of the applications weren't even followed with a rejection email.

Now, it's not just employers who are ghosting me, it's Ryan as well. I did exactly as he directed me; send your writer a message, and we'll issue a refund. I wrote them on 20 Nov and 30 Nov, with a phone call shortly thereafter, and reached out via their website's chat feature. Nothing. Complete and total radio silence.

On the topic regarding quality of product, as I socialized my resume with nationally recognized veteran placement organizations like VetJobs and Hiring Our Heroes, the feedback was consistent: the product Resume Writing Group furnished was in no way compliant with ATS (Applicant Tracking Software) standards. So not only was the resume copy/pasted verbatim from what I provided, it wasn't even formatted to compete in an ATC [edit for typo, “ATS”]-heavy labor market.

So, Ryan has proven to be yet another shyster. I'm learning much of what the private sector is about is bald-faced greed and dishonesty. He's just another example of slimy civilian I've had to deal with since retiring from the service. I expected more, but then again, I haven't worked in the private sector since I was 17, almost thirty years ago. Today, a person's word is only so good as a check that clears.

Unless you're a fan of pissing away money for, at best, a mediocre product that may or may not pan out for you, with no chance of getting your money back, I would avoid these guys. You're better off Chat GPT'ing your own resume.

UPDATE: I wrote this review yesterday- 11/19/25. I went to log into my account today (11/20/25) to download my invoices and Resume Writing Group has Suspended my account. I took a screen shot for my records. Due to this, I have removed a star and downgraded them to 1 star. I am a paying client and have rights to the information for which I paid. Guess I need to contact my lawyer... smh...

The customer service is atrocious! Once you pay for their services, the only way to communicate is via the website through the "message the writer" icon. The problem is, when you do this, no one responds. I sent no less than 3 messages via their website and got zero response. I tried calling and no one returned my call. After multiple chat attempts, I finally received this chat with Ryan... to a paying customer: Ryan: We have repeatedly advised you - over and over and over again what you need to do. Sign into your account and click on the "CONTACT YOUR WRITER" button to reach out to your writer.
Me: And I have repeatedly advised you over and over and over and over again that I HAVE CONTACTED MY WRITER and have NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSES!!!!!!! I have also advised you over and over and over again that there IS NO BUTTON ON YOUR WEBSITE for me to click on APPROVE!!!!!!!!
Your response is extremely unprofessional. Please fully refund me for the Linkedin purchase
Ryan: We have already completed all of the content for the LinkedIn profile - over a month ago. We cannot issue a refund at this stage in the process.

Ultimately they did the Linkedin profile and it was pure crap. The writer put my latest job name in a bullet under a job I haven't held in 20 years! Just sloppy and clearly not proofread. I have to redo the entire thing. There is absolutely nothing that is salvageable. Complete waste of money!! 2 stars only because the resume they did was OK. Not great, but OK and I was able to morph it to what I need.
