Business Closed, but Regus Keeps Charging
I would strongly caution small business owners to read the fine print before signing up for a Regus virtual office.
My business ceased operations, yet I was informed that I am still responsible for the remainder of a one-year virtual office contract. What is particularly frustrating is that this is a virtual office service—not a traditional physical office lease where dedicated space has been reserved exclusively for my business.
I understand that contracts have terms, but there should be a reasonable process for addressing situations where a business permanently closes and no longer needs or can use the service. Continuing to charge a business for months after it has ceased operations feels unnecessarily rigid and extremely unfriendly to small business owners.
Had I fully understood how difficult it would be to exit the agreement even if the business itself stopped operating, I would not have entered into the contract.
My advice to anyone considering a Regus virtual office is simple: pay very close attention to the contract length, cancellation provisions, renewal terms, and what happens if your business closes before the agreement ends. Do not assume that closing your business means you can simply discontinue the service.

We partner with our customers to help them run and grow their business, but we also have a business to run and cannot cancel an agreement earlier than its end date. You signed an agreement with us which reflects a formal business commitment. It is not unreasonable that we expect this to be honoured as signed.
If your business has liquidated, of course we have measures in place to support you but this would require you submitting the relevant documentation to us. If this has not been provided, your account will remain unchanged.
