Paid $4,000+ for Platinum-level service…
Paid $4,000+ for Platinum-level service and got one 30-minute call before April 15. No proactive planning, no strategic guidance — just a last-minute extension notice and me doing my own capital gains reconciliation. For a situation with RSUs, an LLC, rental income, and significant trading activity, I expected a lot more. The platform is fine but the advisory depth isn't there. Not worth the price for anyone with real financial complexity. Hoping to cancel shortly!
Range has been excellent
Range has been excellent! I left my advisor a few years ago because the 1% asset management fee was starting to add up. I'm getting comparable or better advice and paying a fraction of what I was before, for my assets to sit in ETF's and other stocks. Highly recommend this to anyone in any tax bracket.
Mixed quality advisory; wants to be software only
Range is stuck between robo-advisory and quality personalized financial advice. It is too expensive for the mixed-experience middle ground it delivers. Response times are measured in days not hours, and getting a reply often requires proactive follow up or even badgering. No phone number to call. Even simple trades take days to execute. If and when you can schedule a call with their team (always a fight to do so), they're great on the phone and generically helpful. Nobody spends any time dedicated to your account so advice is educated (CFP) but generic. Tax filing has been fine but not differentiated. I look forward to canceling my service.
Not worth the price
For the price I expected more seamless service especially around tax preparation and filing. Our tax case that doesn't feel very special (MFS) is causing a lot of issues for them so we had to paper file, giant waste of time.
Range requires you to do a lot of upfront setup work with little in return. While a dashboard across account is fine its also a commodity that I can get much cheaper and with less bugs elsewhere (copilot money for example).
The real benefit of range working with these inputs feels nonexistent as it requires so much manual work for taxes when they have access to every account and transaction. Cumulative I probably spent as much time as I would have on Turbotax but at a 10x price.
The investment recommendations were almost comically complex to execute on your own. I suspect that may either be generated or designed to convert me hand over asset management which would tie me to a $5k a year fee indefinitely. The price to value ratio is way off.
Great value for all in one
For the price, I love that it covers nearly everything (tax planning/filing, investments, budgeting/planning, etc). The budgeting features work great for me, more than what I was getting with a standard finance app - I have been doing more in depth planning and projections. Rai (the AI) has been able to answer a lot of my questions as well, but glad to know there are humans available just in case.
I can honestly say Range has made a big…
I can honestly say Range has made a big difference for me. Money stuff can feel overwhelming, but they break it down in a way that actually makes sense and feels manageable. I feel a lot more confident and in control of my finances now, which is huge.
Pleasantly surprised
I've been with Range since 2024 and for the most part have had a solid experience.
Pros:
- I really like the team approach. There are multiple experts that understand my situation deeply. I thought i wouldn't like this when I signed up, but it turned out to be way better than expected
- their services include personal taxes. I was a client at another brokerage and would never get advice on taxes or estate planning
- the fee is flat
- they introduced AI a year ago and its very intuitive and really good
Cons:
- the account connections can be better, though I'm not sure who is responsible for that. Either way, could be better
- they say they're all in one but they don't file business taxes
- i have assets in India but they don't provide advice on international accounts
Poor response time
Poor response time. System not responding, can't upload files
worst experience
worst experience. The rudest sales person Dylan I had the unfortunate experience of booking a call with. Wish I had never booked a call. What a waste of time. Services so overpriced.
Not the value advertised
Weak. Not as advertised. I specifically asked about STR Tax Savings and calculators in sales process and was assured all these items were readily available. They are not and every appointment is days/weeks out for any guidance or assistance.
The investments platform is weak
The investments platform is weak. It doesn't show enough detail to be useful. If you have different brokerage accounts, this platform doesn't bring them all together in a way that you can use it. You still have to go to each brokerage site to see information that is useful for an investor. I wish I didn't spend the money for this service.
You are getting a computer system to…Not Worth It
You are getting a computer system to help with tax strategy, too expensive, can't get anyone on the phone. Doesn't seem much different than filing your taxes with TurboTax for a lot less. if you want an area to manage all of your money Monarch Money is good and only like $10 a month.
I've really enjoyed working with Range
I've really enjoyed working with Range. I started about a year ago when I was trying to really start learning about my finances and didn't want to pay an AUM fee to a financial advisor. Range has helped me with my decision to let go of a Variable life insurance policy, helping me understand how the money I invested into the policy would go much farther in a brokerage account invested into the market and has also given me a retirement analysis that helps me understand how to save towards my goals. I wish that they were a little bit faster at responding with analyses (sometimes up to 4 weeks), but the value is incredible and I'm happy with my experience so far.
Patient and responsive
Our experience with Range has been very positive. They’re patient and responsive, and provide great peace of mind when questions come up or entertaining what-if scenarios.
You’re paying for human advice, not AI, so we’re completely ignoring “Range AI” as an offering (not sure why someone would choose to ask AI for a potentially wrong answer, instead of just asking a licensed advisor you’re already paying for, but I guess everyone is trying to figure out how to leverage AI these days)
Consolidated platform + professional support
The biggest value I get from range is the organization of all my accounts, and having access to professionals that can give advice based on my specific situation. The platform is easy to work with if you have accounts that are able to maintain live connections. Human advice is most valuable and has been useful. The AI tools are generally helpful but not sufficient so glad they still have people to work with as well. I'll revisit this review if that changes, but for now, it's working great
I've been really happy with how Range…
I've been really happy with how Range has guided me through a host of challenges my growing family is facing, including getting life insurance, buying a house, getting home owners insurance, and saving for college.
Highly recommended!

Has been an excellent first 9 months working with range as an all in one wealth management, tax planning, and financial consultant support. I was reluctant to get a CFP for years and I so regret not doing this sooner.
Paid $5k for the membership
Paid $5k for the membership, but regrest it.
(1) The web app is incredibly buggy, or slow, if its working at all.
(2) The annalysis the application provides is superficial at best, but worse its usually wrong. Range.AI (its beta, but still) is comically wrong in its advice/analysis.
(3) I had my onboarding call, and weeks have gone by without an analysis, plan or contact by an advisor.
Terrible as a fiduciary and tax planner
Range seems convenient. They watch all things financially for you. They have a nice dashboard that connects it all. That's where it stops.
There financial advisory team is terrible. I've lost more money due to there lack of guidance. They are supposed to be a fiduciary - I haven't heard from an advisor in over 8 months and this is all with the current tariff market volatility.
On the tax side they are even worse. They advised me on setting up an LLC and the instructions were completely wrong. This February they did a preliminary review of my taxes. I was glad to see I was getting a significant refund. When they finally completed my taxes, we discovered they'd made a mistake and it reduced my refund by $40k! They owned up to making the mistake, but not once did anyone reach out or offer an apology. Tax planning was the top reason I signed up and they couldn't even get estimates correct.
