Why I keep coming back to David for coaching
I’ve worked with a few coaches over the years, but David is the one I’d choose first every time.
I suspect that’s partly because David is a chameleon. He has a remarkable ability to meet you where you are and give you what you actually need. In my case, this has rarely been more praise or reassurance. I’ve always wanted someone who would challenge my thinking, ask the uncomfortable question, and occasionally make my head spin. David does that very well.
I’ve gone back to him at various inflection points in my career: stepping up within a team and leading a variety of personalities against high growth targets; moving country into a global role working across cultures in a fast-growth environment; changing direction in my career; and now building my own business.
The conversations have been very different, but there’s a common thread: I leave thinking differently. Sometimes clearer, sometimes with more questions than I arrived with, and occasionally slightly annoyed at myself. But usually with a problem I’ve been lugging around for months suddenly looking much more manageable.
He’s paid for himself several times over already. And given how many different points in my career I’ve ended up going back to him, I suspect I’ll be working with him again.
