Abysmal attempt at hosting an art workshop. Cost: £75.

This is not a reflection on the outstanding content of the actual workshop and excellent tutor John Harrison.

3 jugs of cold water on arrival - no refreshments as advertised and no further drinks were available until lunch time.
Held in the Yurt, freezing cold for first 2 hours until underfloor heating became effective.
Really hard wooden chairs to sit on for 5 hours plus.
No member of staff checked in to see if everyone was ok for the entire duration.
Light lunch was 1 pot of coffee and tea and 2 tiny triangles of sandwiches each, all heaped in a pile for 13 people. As one of the delegates kindly requested more, we were given another pile of sandwiches amounting to a further two tiny sandwiches.

A most unacceptable and unforgettable workshop venue experience indeed.

On our day visit and early home breakfast, we looked forward to our quiche/frittata salad lunch. The Cole
Slaw was tired and looked like the days before ! The potato salad was unpeeled and everything was like it had just come out of freezer! Worst of all, it all had a strange taste and was admitted by the manager the coleslaw looked unappetising. Unsatisfactory resolution!

What a horrible second visit. Staff rude and pushy. Prices rediculous. This will be the last time we visit, it's all about making as much money as possible. Nearly £8 for two cups of tea, really. Same stalls, in fact less than normal, I do not recommend

The quality and attention to the customers comfort and needs was superb. From the quality of food, which was given in abundance, to the non stop service of Andrew, George, and the team, it was all perfect, right down to our own well lit Xmas tree in the bedroom. Just can’t thank them enough. Seats for a Pantomime plus transport were also included on Boxing Day. Well done we had a great Xmas break.

A great meal at High Force Hotel after having a beautiful walk to Low Force and High Force waterfalls in the winter morning sunshine. A deliciously perfect cider accompanied home-bred venison and beef, and Theakston’s was appreciated with local finely-ground pork & leek sausages with deliciously nutty buttered green beans, and mash. Sumptuous custard and ice-cream were brilliant together for the ginger cake, (but we would prefer a much stronger spicier ginger flavour, please). The spiced plum crumble with custard was perfect. The staff were all delightful and made us feel really welcome in the cosy surroundings, it was a very enjoyable trip, thank you.
