I had an experience with Prudential…

I had an experience with Prudential Assurance Company Singapore.
I lost a lot of money, S$180,000 because of a bad advisor they appointed.
This advisor did not do what I told him to do with my investment-linked policy even when the market was clearly going down.
In the end Prudential closed the fund. I lost all my money.
What is even worse is that this advisor forged my signature on documents so he could get more commissions.
When I found out and confronted him he even suggested that we lie to Prudential together and file a claim.
This is completely wrong and I have proof. My signature does not match we have WhatsApp messages. I recorded our call.
I told Prudential Singapore about all this. They did nothing.
They did not investigate they did not say sorry. They did not give me any money back.
They just said the advisor was not their employee and that they were not responsible.
They do not care about their customers they only care about the money they get from premiums.
Losing S$180,000, which was my retirement money has been very hard for me.
I have had sleepless nights I am always worried and I feel ashamed that I trusted a company like Prudential.
After feeling sad and helpless for months I got in touch with Poma Advisory.
They listened to my problem they checked all the documents and the timeline of what happened. They helped me get back a lot of my money.
I will always be thankful to them.
If you have also been cheated or ignored by Prudential Assurance Company Singapore do not suffer alone contact Poma Advisory away.
Do not buy insurance. Invest with Prudential Singapore.
Their advisors are not honest they do not check what their advisors are doing. They will leave you when things go wrong.
Stay away, from them.

Very poor service to long term…

Very poor service to long term customers Singapore Though I paid the premiums in time and message customer service staffs to update the premiums they didn't bother to check if all months was paid. I was told in March 2025 that a premium was missed in December 2024 so my policy lapsed n ask me to wait 3 months for any claims though it's their email staffs negligence. Separate occasions I was busy with work n paid twice into same policy and I called in to the call center on the day itself to transfer premium to right policy and spoke to their manager Kian. He did nothing that saying yes to everything and did not update me that the finance unit need me to write in a email saying I wanted premium paid transfer to another policy till a month later. I was told by email staffs that thr policy lapsed whsfb it's email staffs and their manager. Kian fault. Very poor and lazy staffs. Don't actively follow up on customer enquiry. Make one phone during office hours and if customer miss it as we, are at work don't have basic initiative to write us an email what they want us to do. Collecting my premium for 3 years for an eci policy but akways keep making it lapse and make us wait for another 3 months like a new cudtoner just taking up policy so not fair for long term sincere customer but other insurance in Singapore like income agency are equally arrogant to their customers and government on et few insauance dominate Singapore when these companies act high and mighty while collecting such high premiums in Singapore

Worst Insurance Company in the world

I lost $150K in a investment linked policy due to an incompetent advisor. He refuses to do a fund switch and at the end Prudential closed the fund. The FA even forged my signature to get more policy KPI for himself. The FA even suggested to defraud his own company for compensation. Totally unethical. Do not get insured by Prudential. They do not care about you.

Prudential Singapore - "Our Reason Is You"? Or "Our Reason Is Your Money"

I have been a life insurance policy holder with Prudential since 1997. Premiums were paid consistently yearly by recurring credit card payment.

In 2022, due to a change in credit card details, 2022's premium payment was missed, which triggered off the premium loan AUTOMATICALLY. I did not receive any notice of this loan. The lapse in payment for once was totally accidental, not intentional.

By the way, since selling me the policy in 1997, the Prudential agent has not made any attempt to communicate with me in any way. Whether she is alive or passed on I have no idea. Certainly when a loan has been triggered, it must have been her duty to enquire with me about the loan.

In 2023, the yearly premium was paid promptly, but no notice of premium loan of 2022 that was still active.

Same for 2024, premium was paid on time. But unknown to me, the loan was still active and accumulating interest at a sky high loan shark rate.

No efforts were made by Prudential at all to reach me to inform of the active loan in anytime since 2022, despite premiums made in 2023 and 2024. Prudential happily allows the loan to roll to earn the accumulated interest like a loan shark.

I came to know about the loan only a few days ago. I messaged Prudential requesting a waiver of the more than $400 accured interest. Prudential politely "blamed" me not reading my statement and blah and blah, and told me to quickly pay up the loan to avoid further interests. Basically Prudential blamed it to my own fault, not reading to notices and reminders. Prudential relied on policy holders to log on online to read the notices and they have done away with paper mails.

Obviously Prudential declined the waiver in a heavy handed manner.

Faced with such a heavy handed, non-compromising, profit-first/client-last attitude from Prudential, I decided to cut my losses and terminated my policy with Prudential.

When you intend to buy a policy with Prudential, they will treat you like a God. Once you signed on the dotted line, you are nothing to them but a cash cow waiting to be milked to your last drop if they can.

Avoid this unethical company. The mission statement is "Our Reason Is You". It should have been "Our Reason Is Your Money".

Prudential Rewards???????

As an insurance agent in the UK with the Prudential for 17 years 1968 untill 1985 all I can say is with a pension of £100 a calender month it is disgusting and pure robbery .... How they can justify that is beyond me.
Having then worked for another Insurance company with integrity for only 10 years and get a pension of £300 a calender month, ...... I leave the maths to the people.

Worst claim company

Worst claim company. They purposely took longer time to process to make you incurred credit card interest. The prolonged wait time has caused significant inconvenience and concern. This experience has been incredibly stressful. Even with doc memo upon their request, won expedite too.
But I got a great agent who tried her best to assist. Appreciate her help alot. But what's the point of buying Prudential insurance which makes you incurred extra charges? Big brands like AIA or Great Eastern dont even let their customers go thru this kind of stress ordeal. And Prudential is known to be higher price tag. For???
Avoid Prudential if you wan to avoid stressful ordeal.

Long claims processing time

Long turn around time for simple accident claims on multiple occasions. (double the length of time Prudential claims on their website to be the turn around time for simple claims)

For the latest claim and payout, agent assured me that the claims department said it would be processed within 5 days (it had already been more than a month). On the 5th day, agent told me that the claims department cannot process the claim because the in house doctor is on leave till a week later. Considering I had submitted my claim almost 6 weeks prior, the doctor being on leave is a poor excuse for further delay.

I am extremely disappointed with…

I am extremely disappointed with Prudential's handling of my claim appeal. Despite submitting my appeal over two months ago and following up with an email on April 16, 2024, I have yet to receive any response. The prolonged wait time has caused significant inconvenience and concern.

To add to my frustration, the clinic I visited was referred by Prudential's concierge service, and the subsequent referral to the Physiotherapy clinic was made by the initial clinic. Given that these referrals were facilitated through Prudential's concierge service, I trusted that my plan details and coverage would be well understood and accounted for. Clearly, this was not the case.

I am appalled by the lack of communication and responsiveness from Prudential. This experience has been incredibly stressful and has left me feeling neglected as a customer. I expected better service and support from a company of this stature.

I urge Prudential to address this matter immediately and provide a prompt resolution to my appeal. This level of service is unacceptable, and I hope no other customers have to endure the same ordeal.

Awful

Awful. I have twice instructed them to cancel a prushield plus policy, both on the phone and in person at their offices - and still they charge me for another year. Communications are super slow - by snail mail taking 10 days from Marina Bay to Toa Payoh.

My medical claims are taking extremely too long for reimbursement. Even the Prudential panel doctor fees claim has issue on the claims . Then why do you have panel doctors for ??? This is the worst medical insurance company in Singapore

Prudential Assurance?!!

We were put with Prudential Assurance by a financial "advisor", quoted the wrong return rate, presumably to get the business. We are currently trying to get our money back during the 30 day "cool off period". We have received the most involved,obstructive, obtuse service, and up to press, made absolutely no progress. The process started initially on 01, Oct,2023, it is now 09,Nov., 2023. We are no nearer getting our money returned than when we started! We know one company we will never again use. "Once bitten twice shy." And still ongoing!

Why pay people to help you redeem a Policy.

My Dad past away 2 weeks ago today and I have contacted prudential several times to activate his Funeral Policy but no one can help me. I am simply past onto every other dept. Other than the one I need. While staff are sympathetic they simply don’t know who to put me through too. Even when they have contacted there manager they are told to Google it.
So in desperation I am hopping leaving this review could possibly get me a contact number for the correct department.
