Do NOT use this company!!!!
Agreed all details & price of completing my house 12 months ago (Feb 2025) & still not completed. Poor excuses when I finally got to speak to them, full of broken promises, missed deadlines (of which they proposed), alongside poor communication. I gave this company multiple chances to make things right but they have failed every time.
Very disappointing experience!!!!

I have read Frank Alston’s review of 28th August 2025 and I couldn’t agree more!
We have had the same issues, paint blistering, cracks that should have been repaired and a warranty not worth the paper that it is written on.
Mahon Crombie being rude and aggressive and Tom Pepper is a truthful man compared to him.

Mr Mahon who referred himself as the nearest thing to “God” is not the type of person who should be dealing with the public….in my opinion. I have never had the misfortune of dealing with such a rude individual! As for the “the team” of workmen who would be doing the job ….we had one lovely man …. He had to do Everything!! Mr Mahon would not supply the necessary equipment for the job …..making it ten times harder for him….cannot fault the workman….the company on the other hand leave a lot to be desired.It has taken me months to submit a review because of this so called man.

I simply cannot recommend. We have been attempting to get compensation for years from Proteks Systems to no avail.

Their claims are extremely misleading, and concerning.

Given we have not received the compensation, I have compiled pages and pages of documents, screenshots and pictures of their claims to support multiple complaints with Advertising Standards, Trading Standards, and the UK small claims court (among other things).

"Never paint exterior walls again" is an insane claim! Along with their supposed 25 year warranty (which is less than half of that).

Speaking to a lawyer, they've said the T&Cs are unreasonable and we have a strong case which was a big relief.

By chance, we recently happened across a journalist who promised to investigate further - unsure what will come of this but it gave us hope that others are not so easily mislead.

We had our house painted by Proteks in June 2023 for over £13000 and it looked good at the time. However within a year a crack had reappeared in our rendering which the surveyor/salesman was aware of and had put on the order form to “drill and fill as required “ which was not done and also the windows were not sealed as was on the form. We paid £180 to claim under the guarantee but the managing director who came to.look was aggressive and rude and claimed that the crack was due to drying out and settling and was not covered by the warranty and the salesman who first came should not have said that the rendering would be restored. The house is two hundred years old and is not settling now and no drying would have happened in a few months. The firm’s workmen phoned while we were on holiday and said that they were coming the next day which they did, climbing over a fence to get access, so we do not know what was done but we were charged for the work. Less than a year later the crack reappeared and was worse and some paint was flaking near the crack but not associated with it. The company was difficult to contact but I finally spoke to them on the phone and they said that they did not need to come out but I should email pictures to them but no work could be done then because of the weather. Nothing then happened for several months and emails which I sent were ignored and damp has seeped into a bedroom from the crack. I finally sent a special delivery letter which caused them to respond. However Mahon Crombie, the managing director, now claimed that the crack was due to the quality of the rendering, even though the salesman had checked the rendering when he first came out, and was not covered by the warranty despite work having been done by the company. He also said that £180 had to be paid before anything would be done. I paid this and still nothing happened for many weeks. More emails were ignored and on phone calls Mr Crombie was rude, aggressive and unhelpful and as others have said he put the phone down on me. I then asked for return of the £180 and accepted that Proteks would not make any attempt to repair the rendering or the flaking paint. This was agreed but no money was returned. When I phoned yet again Mahon Crombie said that he would not return the money and when I said that nothing had been done for it he said that he would have to look into it but it wouldn’t be for over a week. The money has now been returned but the customer service of this firm is non existent and we will now get a local builder to repair the problem. I would not have any dealings with this firm as their guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. It has taken many months to get to this stage and we hoped that having the coating on the walls would mean that we would not have to carry out any maintenance in the future, as we are both over 70 and did not want to have to climb any ladders now.

The initial appointment with the sales person was very informative and everything that was discussed ws delivered ahead of time. Daniel who actually did the job was very efficient, tidy worker and reliable. I am extremely pleased with the outcome and would recommend Proteks

Anthony and Daniel worked in freezing weather and completed doing the whole house, driveway, garage and front steps in two weeks.Everything we had asked for was completed really well. Nothing was a hassle for them. Thank you once again for the amazing job you have done at our house.

Very good work carried out by Proteks, was very easy to setup we contacted them via live chat and our details were taken and passed on to the surveyors who came out to measure the house, very quick and efficient and agreed to price. Very happy with the quality of work everything was mapped out and happened as they said it would. Highly recommend.

I felt that a very professional approach was made to my job from start to finish. I was delighted with the service, the staff involved at every stage, the workmanship and the product. My house looks great!

Would not recommend this company to anyone my house was painted 3 years ago at the time the house looked great the employee who painted the house even left us with 2 pots of paint should I ever need it he said fantastic so I thought,couple of years later the white paint starts to flake off the walls and I also had cavity wall insulation done at the time and I painted over the small holes with the paint I was left by the protek employee I contacted protek about the flaking white paint on the bottom of my house where no insulation holes were drilled or repainted I explained to the company on the phone about the flakey paint and how I had painted over the insulation holes with the grey paint I had been left by proteks no problem if I pay £180 some1 will be out to inspect my property guy came out had a quick look and off he went week later I’m informed I had invalidated the warranty by painting over the insulation holes so they take £180 knowing fine well they were not going to do a thing about it not a bad wee scam they could have easily told me at the time the warranty is invalid because I had touched up there paint but nope they took the £180 please be warned this company does not care once they have got your money read the other bad reviews I really wish I could put up pictures of my house to show what a mess it is after only 3 years you will be told this paint won’t flake or chip for 10+years bit of a joke or a lie I will now have to look into getting a professional company in to repaint my house to cover over the mess I’m left with after proteks poor flakey coat which cost me over £2000 and lasted not even 3 years wow proteks quality service you run out of Wishaw 😳 I see proteks like to reply only to positive reviews don’t think I will be getting a reply 🤔

As someone who has used PROTEKS in the past I couldn’t be more happy with my decision to use them again after many years. The whole process is very professionally carried out by cheerful and skilled personnel and I am delighted with the end result. Above all I am confident that my house is well protected and will continue to look good for years to come.

The house looks double the value with the work completed, and we have been treated beyond fairly by these people, who corrected an earlier botched job that was nothing to do with them.

50 phone call to office many frustrating due to unprofessional response often resulting in MD shouting over us and slamming phone down .
6 months of untold stress, poor communication , cancelled holidays as they would not send men if we were not on site . 6 months if our life we can not get back .
Health and safety issues , tradesman fell from ladder . Often lone tradesmen , we had to foot ladder . Garden wall damaged when trying to move large generator unaided , again we had to step in . Arrived often without ladders , drop cloths . We had to buy drop clothes to protect new decking and silicone to replace seals at windows and doors damaged by spraying .
Not once was there a Proteks vehicle on site

Do not believe a technical survey of works was ever carried out resulting in many challenges that could have been avoided . Some tradesmen requested the director come and see the job , this never happened .
We have now tried to claim on our warranty for defects and have been advised that they have voided our warranty without any written notice .
We expect the company to comply with Consumer Rights Act 2015 and rectify the defects . However if this does not happen we will have no option but to seek legal action .

We wish we had done further research before engaging this company . If we had known then what we know now we would not have signed up with them .
Update The company have refused to abide by Consumer Rights Act 2015 . Refused to respond to any written correspondence . My initial review was removed as I had named the Director .
Further defects have appeared on the property since my initial review .

The wording of the adverts does not match the actions of the company !!!

Have a sandstone property issues with water ingress. Had a survey done and discussed the solutions. We have repointing to both gables and sealed with proteks clear coat. ..the front and rear of our property have no issues but needed freshened up . ..really pleased looks great and after these dreadful storms everything holding up. Really pleased we had the work done gives us both peace if mind and looks great .. thank you for a job well done

I have thought long and hard about this but having been contacted last night via social media by another unhappy customer that had issues the same time as us, it seems that Proteks in Wishaw, continue to ignore the pleas of their customers by slamming the phone down on them and not adhering to their warranty.

We paid £12,500 pounds in August 2021 to Advanced Wall Solutions Ltd., for painting the house walls and roof and also our large garage roof. Well, it hadn’t even been a year when the garage roof was showing the paint to be coming off along the ridge. We also noticed the paint underneath shows through in areas when the sun shines on the tiles. Our neighbours even mentioned that the paint was showing to be coming off on their side too.

The 10-year warrant states that ‘The Proteks coating will not chip, flake or peel for the period of not less than 10 years. In the event of failure of the application, Advanced Wall Solutions Ltd, will provide, under the terms of the warranty, the necessary labour and materials to make good any defects’.

Their leaflet that was handed to us stated: 'The first part of the application is to install the prime or slush coat The slush coat is created by the addition of up to 40% PT 15, a modified resin, to the mixture (Dependent on substrate). The first coat also creates a surface with uniform porosity, allowing an even distribution rate when the final coat is applied. When the final coat is applied it will leave a tough durable weatherproof finish designed to be maintenance free for more than 25 years'

We contacted them via telephone and we received a letter of a request for payment of £150 plus VAT before they would come out!! Having paid £12,500 and been issued with a 10-year warranty, it is quite obvious this is a paint/application defect and we told them so. I sent photographs via email – of which they did not respond to - obviously as we refused to send any further monies.

Having written my honest Google review, the Director of the company, threatened to withdraw the 10-year warranty! I kid you not...

We took the route of a small claims court and eventually, Proteks had no alternative but to contact us to resolve the issue. The garage roof was repainted and also the main house roof was repainted, as upon inspection, that needed re-coating too.

I removed my initial review at their request as they were losing business. More fool I !! I later discovered black spray paint all over our garden pots and black drips of paint on our light-coloured garden pavers of which is extremely difficult to remove. Just recently, our neighbours state that the paint is again showing to be coming off the garage roof on their side! We also discovered yesterday that their promise of replacing damaged tiles wasn't carried out. Instead, they were patched up and painted over. (we have photographs to prove) Would I get them back? I don’t think so!!

I really don’t want anyone else shelling out thousands of pounds and having to suffer this ordeal so I will leave it up to you to decide whether you use this company or not.
