Host Entering Apartment Without Permission And Stared at Me

Extremely disturbing and unacceptable experience – avoid this place at all costs.
I arrived on time at PoshSpot Apartments in Cluj-Napoca at the 7th April 2026, unlocked the door with my booking confirmation, and stepped inside the apartment I had rented for the entire period. Without any prior notice, warning, or permission whatsoever, the host suddenly opened the door from the outside, stood in the doorway, and stared directly at me in silence. This quickly escalated into a verbal argument while he was still holding the door open and refusing to leave. I added a the video
I felt deeply unsafe, violated, and extremely uncomfortable. As a solo traveler, this was one of the most disturbing moments I have ever experienced in any accommodation. I immediately left the property because the situation was no longer tenable.
What makes this even worse is that the host then deliberately and falsely marked my entire booking as “No-Show”, even though I was physically present, had unlocked the door, and have clear video evidence of the entire incident. I also filed a police report with the Romanian authorities regarding the unauthorized entry and privacy violation (violarea domiciliului). PoshSpot Apartments is now keeping the money and cancelled the booking as this is the rule for no show.
This was not a simple misunderstanding. This was a clear and intentional breach of guest privacy and basic trust. The host used the No-Show claim as a way to keep the full payment while preventing me from leaving an honest review. The fact that someone can just open your rented apartment door unannounced, stare at you, argue with you, and then steal the entire booking fee through a false claim is outrageous and feels borderline fraudulent.
I have video footage of the host opening the door and staring at me, as well as the police report and the No-Show claim screenshot from Booking.com. This is not hearsay — this is documented fact.
I understand that other guests may have had positive experiences here, but this incident revealed a completely different and deeply concerning side of this accommodation. No guest should ever have to fear that the host can enter their private space without permission or use technical loopholes to keep their money after making them feel unsafe.
I strongly advise everyone — especially solo travelers and women — to stay far away from PoshSpot Apartments.
This is not just bad service. This is a serious violation of privacy and guest rights.
Never again.
