Poppy's Picnic Omdömen 

We had been loyal customers of this company for some time, so it’s with great disappointment that I’m having to write this review. In one of our regular orders over the Spring earlier this year, the dog food inside the packaging arrived fully defrosted. Poppy’s had not included any ice packs in the box so we assumed it was an oversight during the heat wave and I took a video of the defrosted food and sent it to the company and politely asked for a refund for the packets we’d have to donate or discard. I explained that I was able to save two packs that were in the middle and therefore insulated. To my surprise, customer service advised me via email that I could still put it all in the freezer, arguing that this was fine given that two packs were still frozen. When I explained the defrosted batches had gone straight in the fridge as I wasn’t comfortable refreezing meat that has defrosted at room temperature, the customer services representative wrote in her reply “what a shame you have wasted the food”! Naturally, we were concerned that a frozen raw food company was giving such advice, so we were hesitant about ordering again, but we decided to order one more box during cooler weather and see how that went… however, when I got in touch a few days later to make the order, I couldn’t get it to work online. I got in touch and they told me that they had “deactivated” my account and that I would not be able to make future orders because they are “a small company” and “can’t take the risk that any more of your orders arrived defrosted”. Absolutely unbelievable!

Looking at the negative reviews of the company on trustpilot, it seems this has happened to other people, and I see the company received a warning from Wiltshire council on ensuring they give the correct advice on not re-freezing thawed food to customers. Given that they have not heeded this advice, we can only conclude that they don’t care about companion animals but only about their profits.

The experience left us feeling quite shaken, since the way we were treated combined with the advice they give customers on food hygiene left us questioning the times our dog had been unwell whilst eating this food. Does it actually contain what it says it does on the packet etc? We realised we couldn’t be sure on anything. Horrible experience and we are so relieved to have now found a dog food company that actually seems to care about dogs.

Fantastic product and service! Ordered on Amazon and came the next day in a beautifully branded box. My puppy gobbled it up and looked at me with big 'more please' eyes! She absolutely loves it and she's a fussy eater. The cats also wanted to get in on the Poppy's action, so will probably be converting them to Tabby's Table soon :)

We’ve been using Poppy’s Picnic dog food for our black lab, Charlie, and couldn’t be happier. His coat has never been so shiny, and even the food smells really nice. The containers don’t leak in the fridge, which is a big plus, and the service has been friendly and reliable. Highly recommend!

Check the ingredients carefully if your dogs are sensitive to certain proteins. And be prepared for a lecture on dog nutrition and FEDIAF compliance if you so dare as question why lamb mince contains beef offal…

My 8 month old puppy was originally on a raw food diet but suddenly decided he didn’t want it anymore. I spent a lot of time and money trying different foods, but nothing seemed to interest him, until I came across Poppy’s Picnic.
What I love is that they offer raw food with the option to cook it by simply removing the bones — and that was a complete game-changer for us. Finally, my pup is excited about mealtime again! He absolutely loves the food, and I can finally stop the endless search for something he’ll eat.
To top it all off, their customer service is outstanding. There was a delivery issue (caused by a strike at their usual courier, so they had to use a different company), and my order didn’t arrive on time. I wasn’t sure if the food would still be safe to use, so I reached out to Poppy’s Picnic. Without hesitation, they sent out a full replacement — free of charge — which arrived the very next day.
That kind of service is rare these days. It’s clear that they genuinely care about their customers and their pets. I can’t recommend Poppy’s Picnic enough — not just for their fantastic products, but for their truly top-notch service as well.

My dog Marley loves Poppy's Picnic raw food. He has had this food for several years. They were reccomended to me by my 2 sisters. Marley is nearly 15yrs old and is still very active. I would definitely recommend them.

Absolutely terrible company to deal with. Deborah has no idea of customer service and has a real attitude problem when issues arise. Will never admit any wrong doing
Deliveries don't arrive on time or courier forgot to collect parcel. If and when food arrives it's no longer frozen.
Waited days for my last order, when I emailed I was told it was not in stock and she had tried to message me. I had no emails.
Extremely overpriced for what you actually get.

Poppy's is BY FAR the best dog food we've tried in the 20+ years I've had and trained border collies.

My latest boy is 2 years old, and for the first year we went through around 6 different brands - the brands that scored highest on AADF - and every month or so he'd get bored and refuse to eat the food.

That was until we found Poppy's Picnic. He was SO excited to eat it the first time we served him. And he's still just as excited today.

We gave our other dog, who was on Wolfworthy, Poppy's while we were on holiday for a long weekend as it was easier to take just one food. When we put here Wolfworthy down after getting home she looked so disappointed, and ate it so slowly. So we switched her to Poppy's too.

I know it's expensive, but my dogs mean the world to me, and they only have such a short time with us, I feel they deserve the best food we can give them.

The other thing I've noticed is that pretty much all other fresh brands try to make the food look tasty to humans - cutting up bits of carrot, sweet potato, etc to make it look appetising to us. Poppy's don't do that, I can imagine poppy's looks like the most amazing food to a dog. It's mainly minced meat, and looks like the quality is getting from a very decent butchers.

Fast delivery and great value. I don't want to feed bones but I do want my little monsters to have a little in their diet as I believe it's good for them, so I'm loving this. I used to make my own dog food, but this is no dearer for better quality and a better mixture. Fabulous. I portioned out the food while semi-defrosted and re-froze it so it's really convenient. My two absolutely love every flavour and clean up every scrap.
Oh, and great customer service and communication.

I recently started feeding my dog on this food and she absolutely loves it! I can see a difference in her skin and coat and get comments from dog walkers when out on walks how healthy she looks! The customer service is second to none and are very helpful to answer questions and they also helped me set up my subscription. Would definitely recommend

We’ve fed Poppy’s fab food to out dogs for years, but have just picked-up the latest members of the family at 8 weeks old and were a bit worried about transitioning her onto raw after kibble and mum’s milk.
Shouldn’t have worried - all gobbled down with gusto as we increased the proportion each day until she’s fully raw fed now and thriving. Seeing their rager faces and little dances at meal times is a treat.

Unfortunately, I won’t be ordering again in the future—not because I’m unhappy with the product, but because of the courier service the company uses. They only offer a one-hour delivery window, which simply isn’t practical if no one is available to receive frozen food. It risks being left on the doorstep for hours, which is far from ideal.

I also had issues with my last delivery due to an error on their end, which didn’t help my overall experience. What really disappointed me, though, was the customer service interaction. The agent seemed more focused on the fact that I’d used a promotional code—something my laptop automatically applies—than on resolving the actual issue. She brought it up twice: once via email and again during a phone call. It genuinely felt like I was being told off 😕.

To add to that, she pointed out that all the terms and conditions are available on the website, implying it was something I should have known before placing the order. While that may be technically true, the way it was communicated made me feel undervalued as a customer. There was little empathy or effort to make me feel supported.

Just a heads-up: be cautious when using promotional codes, as it seems to be a sensitive topic.

What happened to the “service” in customer service? Not a great first impression, especially as I could have been a loyal, regular customer.

Excellent quality food, my 7 month old fussy little eater Rue absolutely loves this food. She hardly ate anything trying so many great brands but she was having none of it. She gets so excited now when I start dishing this out. She loves the sprinkles and all the different meats. I thought I’d be abit grossed out with the mince but nothing near what I expected and the tray size is great so we get 3 days out of it. Can’t wait to weigh her after a month of this food. I have been buying poppy’s picnic at 5years now and I can would give this company 10 stars 🌟. The quality of the food is excellent, I have a very fussy Pomeranian who also suffers with tummy and skin issues. Since he’s been on poppy’s picnic the allergies has eased and he most of all loves the food! Because he’s so fussy we have the food raw, but then we may cook the food! I purchase the power balls which comes with many varieties. The delivery service is excellent and it’s always delivered the next day so I’ve never run out. It comes well packaged and then I just put it in the freezer. The customer service is superb and so helpful, always a friendly and kind lady on the other end of the phone, or online chat which is alway successful. I highly recommend poppy’s picnic from the food, delivery and customer service. Thank you poppy's picnic you’re the A team!

Food was delivered quickly and Murphy absolutely loves it. Clean bowl every time, he can't get enough of it!!

I have a very fussy Cockapoo and after trying loads of different food this is the only food he will eat, I buy the cookable meatballs for him

What a fantastic company – traditional customer service values, at their very best.

My two Bulldogs (we sadly lost our beloved Bonnie in March) both thrive on Poppy’s and have done for over a year now. Bulldogs are known for allergies and sensitive tummies, but with Poppy’s they’ve had no issues at all – every meal is wolfed down in seconds.
The subscription is so easy and flexible, I never have to worry about reordering. Recently, I realised I didn’t have enough food to last until my next delivery, which was very unusual. As it had been a few weeks since my last order, I couldn’t confirm how many trays had originally arrived, so I couldn’t prove it was a short delivery. I emailed Deborah in Customer Services, explained the situation, and asked if she could help.
By the very next working day, she had updated my subscription and brought my delivery forward – brilliant service! But what really stood out was that, without me asking (and with no proof on my part), she also refunded 4 trays. That kind of honesty and integrity is so rare today.
Thank you Deborah and team – outstanding dog food and truly exceptional service. Highly recommended.

After trying numerous raw food subscriptions, we have stuck with Poppy's for over 18 mths now, whilst having cancelled most of the others. We have 3 chow chows all of whom are typically fussy eaters, but with Poppy's they have thrived and not once turned their noses up to it! The quality is second to none, looks good enough for us hoomans to eat, and the dogs have thrived on it (including their teeth!). Definitely not the cheapest, but with the highest rating on the All About Dog Food website this is truly a case where you get what you pay for! On top of that, the few times I have had to interact with customer service it has been fantastic as well! So glad we found Poppy's!
