I joined the J-1 program through this agency with high expectations, but my experience was quite stressful due to repeated miscommunication and unexpected additional costs. During my visa process, there were delays related to embassy regulations and scheduling issues. However, I was not clearly informed from the beginning that I might need to pay a new SEVIS fee. I was initially told I only needed to pay for a document reissue. Later, I was informed that another SEVIS fee was required, which felt very overwhelming financially.
I also experienced multiple miscommunications, even after my visa specialist was changed. This created confusion and uncertainty throughout the process. As a participant investing a significant amount of money (MRV fee, travel costs, accommodation for interview, etc.), clearer communication would have made a big difference.
I am giving 2 stars mainly because Angela was professional and responsive. I truly appreciate her support. However, overall, the experience was stressful due to the lack of consistent and transparent communication. I hope the agency improves its communication system so future participants can avoid similar situations.

The preparation process for my J1 visa was a breeze. Special thanks to Karol Molina, who was with me every step of the way. Very professional, punctual and always keeping me informed.

They are legit, but watch out. I had an experience with the company where they damaged me due unprofessional, unethical and amateur behavior. It was during a recruitment process, after multiple interviews they asked me for References. I gave my top references, they called, asked to fill some forms, etc. Were a senior HR and the founder of a quarter of a billion company. After that, they scheduled another interview with a part time guy that works for them. Following, I got the denial. Totally fine, it’s their right to do so! What is not their right is to burn down references BEFORE all interviews are completed. Now I can't use my top two references anyplace else. To add the cherry on top, I wrote an e-mail about it after and the HR had the audacity to lie, and I quote "It was only after the final conversation with our IT consultant", but both references contacts reached me out to confirm if they could share their feedbacks to the company BEFORE this "final conversation with the IT consultant". So, they will lie and deceive to protect their interest, which is unethical. All the rest, was clearly unprofessional and amateur handling. Both conclusions are huge red-flags. So just be careful to trust their work. I would hate myself if anyone using their services find themselves into a threatening situation abroad, for instance, where surely Placement International will only lie and dodge any responsibility.

Feedback Regarding My Experience

‎I would like to share my honest feedback about my overall experience after my visa denial.
‎
‎When I began the USA J1 program process, I asked the Placement International team (Ana Utami – Visa Supervisor, and Balamurugan Subramani) about the major reasons for visa denial. However, I was not informed about the importance of strong home-ties documents, even though this is one of the most critical requirements. I also did not receive clear guidance about the importance of bank-statement documents.

‎I learned about these two key requirements only when I received guidance for the DS-160 and later during my mock interview with Visa Specialist Maruci, at a time when I had already paid all required fees (placement fee, SEVIS fee, and embassy appointment fee). Even when I mentioned that I did not have strong home-ties documents, I was told they were optional and not very important.

‎After the visa denial, I realized how essential these documents are—especially for applicants from South Asian countries such as Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. Without strong home ties, the chances of approval are extremely low.
‎
‎Therefore, I kindly request that the placement team provide clear and complete information about home-ties requirements to future candidates from these countries. This will help applicants make informed decisions before starting the process.

‎Final Note:
‎
‎Had I been informed earlier about the importance of strong home-ties documents, I would not have begun the J1 program process, as I know I do not have sufficient home-ties evidence to submit. Due to the lack of proper guidance, this journey resulted in unnecessary expenses and a significant loss of time for me.
