A tutorial should teach
A tutorial should teach. To learn you need to have a good teacher with good teaching methods. This fella dominates all of PHLearn, and the overriding message is that he is the best Photoshop instructor in the world. There is no evidence of that, it is just a bald claim.
He is not a teacher at all. I seriously doubt he has ever seen the concept of course objectives, teaching methods, learner centered teaching, or the need to resolve learning roadblocks on a student by student basis.
He is a demonstrator. Now, it is true that demonstration can be a teaching method, but on its own, it's just a movie. Call it Photoshop at the Gallop.
Nobody cares if you've fallen off the horse.
It does have nice section headings and you think, "Wow, just what I need. Let's get started." When you get started, you get a fast talking guy too lazy to edit all the mindless mouse meanderings or put any structure into the process.
My sample videos are even the wrong ones. I'm cancelling in the first month. I advise you to do so as well, unless you pretty well know all this anyway.
