Absolute waste of time and money
Absolute waste of time and money. Raised about 3 laughs all night. First half cheap cop out filming audience and singing advert and tv theme tunes. 2nd half a bit better but still very limp. Great shame for previously funny man.
Absolutely hilarious
Absolutely hilarious, what an incredible experience. I have been a fan of Peter Kay’s for many years. I have read his autobiography which was so funny I couldn’t put it down, Phoenix Nights, Car Share and many more other amazing and memorable material.
His latest show was hilarious from the start, I cried with laughter throughout and it was so fantastic to see him live.
If you like Peter Kay then it will be a great experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
VERY disapointing!
I am a Key fan, but, 7th June performance was not what we expected! The first part of the first half appeared, initialy, to be unscripted, but as things moved more towards an audio trip down memory lane provided by the audience once the old advert and tv show theme tunes were started by Kay...I didn't know the audience was the backing singers to Kay's jaunt into his past. Next we had the side show of the poor camera work and a complete lack of ability to focus on subjects, while embarrassing and mocking members of the audience who had either zero shame, public filter or were too intoxicated to remember what shame even is! The rest of the show was the old "I think these song lyrics have dirty words in", section, a long rant about his medical conditions and a depressing eulogy to his Nan. Sweet as it was, it completely killed the mood. who in their right mind thought that was appropriate for a comedy show? There were completely inappropriately long and time filling (as best as I could tell), encores that frankly were not justified. Finaly, even more songs and a finale that appeared to be a glorification of Kay by the die hard fans...or the intocicated. The whole show fell very well short of the sharp whit, analytical and observational comedy of Kay's good old days of the Tower Ballroom etc that we all know and love. Very disappointing as the tickets were bought by our kids for us way back in November 22!! Not worth the wait or the high price!
Peter kay 2025 - don't waste your money
I think he has had his time now…
He spent the first 40 minutes going around the crowd with the camera (it was not funny at all). Then he spent ages getting the crowd to sing tv theme tunes (again not really funny). We actually left after about an hour or so as it was so bad…..
He needs new material instead of using the crowd to use the time up.
Utilitia arena is ok ( need more toilets as the queues were LONG). Parking was ace and no issues.
Shame we paid top dollar for tickets and the show was 3 out ot 10 max….. dont waste your money, wait for it to come out on netflix.
Saw Peter at the Utilia Birmingham
Saw Peter at the Utilia Birmingham. We had a cracking night. I have pains from laughing sooo much. Defo would go again. Brilliant show, my other half and I were dying laughing, loved the camera on the audience. Highly recommended
"Remember when is the lowest form of…
"Remember when is the lowest form of conversation" - Tony Soprano.
This quote kept repeating through my head throughout the gig, especially the first half. Everyone loves to reminisce but when you're paying a comedian £65 per ticket, you expect some jokes mixed in with those shared memories.
For the first 20 minutes of the show he had no routine or material at all, relying on filming the crowd and then expecting the crowd to carry the show. He singled out one man (Jim of Primrose Driving School) who literally stole the show from him. Everyone I spoke to after the show was talking about Jim, which speaks volumes.
The second half of the show contained some jokes/material but a lot of those were standard circuit jokes used by many comedians over the years.
I hate to say it as I love a lot of his stuff but Peter Kay has gone from being a comedian to a variety act show, and an average one at best. It was a fancy Pontins show and genuinely felt like a cash grab. I'm more disappointed than anything else as I feel taken advantage of.
This should really be a one star review but out of respect for Peter, the fact comedy is subjective, and my mum enjoying most of the show I decided one star would be too harsh
If my mum is happy, I'm happy. Just not happy enough to lie to others about how poor this gig was.
Sad waste of money
Saw Peter Kay at the O2 on Friday night (16 May 2025). Booked the tickets last Christmas and they weren’t cheap. Add the cost of hotel, train & tubes and it was a very expensive and disappointing weekend. The show starts with the audience cam - done it before - and then he does a whole “ad lib” section asking audience for old ads and getting them singing old ad songs. Does a bit of funny stuff then has a break. Second part is family and health stuff which is new and funnier. Third part goes back to the old misheard lyrics. That was when we left I’m afraid. Overall experience wasn’t good. The O2 is huge. The seats are uncomfortable and forget needing the toilets in the break - even the gents had a queue which is unheard of usually. Save your money and wait for the edited Netflix version
Mmmmm, above himself
Mmmmm, seems very hard to write a review. I think some legal experts are blocking them. Very disappointing. Audience kept saying around me, he will get going soon but he didn’t. Very dull, boring and depressing part about his gran. Showing off about who he knows. About his expensive holidays with the stars. Don’t bother, watch the good stuff on YouTube
Absolutely fantastic
Absolutely fantastic. We went as a grown up family of five and we all came away with sore throats having laughed so hard and for so long. I've seen a lot of Peter Kay's shows in the past but I think this was up there with the best. I can't believe all the little Karen's are on here whining about the picture of a penis. It was a great gag and I'm still laughing about it. I can't wait to go to his next show.
Great show
Well what can I say. What a great come back. Loved it. Peter kay at his best. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if you have seen his material before you know what to expect. I didnt find the dic pic offensive, you really had to be concentrating to even see it. Already looking to go again..well done Peter kay.
Terrible
Saw him in Glasgow and it's got to be the worst ????comedy???? Show iv witnessed waited 2 years for this ..omg..he should get life for that show??????
Attended the Peter Kay show at Glasgow…
Attended the Peter Kay show at Glasgow Hydro last evening, £165 for the ticket booked last April, the show this evening UTTERLY ABYSMAL..He spent 30 minutes when he came on with a camcorder, filming the audience ,eating chocolates, then asked the audience there fav bygone jingles from T.V. adverts, and spent another half an hour getting everyone to sing along..Seriously I would not have paid £20 had I known this was the EFFORT OF A SHOW HE WAS PUTTING ON..will never watch him again, well past his sell by date.
FANTASTIC
Just come away from Peter Kay show at O2. Sooooo funny. Didn’t stop laughing. OK, so it’s a bit geared toward those who have slightly longer memories and yes it’s a little ‘racey’ at times (honestly grow up over the dic pic) but so so fun. Great evening and so pleased I ignored all the negative reviews I had read. Great fun and definitely Peter at his best, he’s just a little older …. So I am. Saw his show previously (I’m even on his DVD🤣) and it was just as good as far as I’m concerned. Well done Peter for losing all that weight. You’re my hero🤩🤩🤩

A long wait... but well worth it... Thankyou Peter Kay 👍
Finally, went to see Peter Kay at the Manchester A O Arena for the first time. He`s been a favourite of mine for many years It was well worth the wait and he did not disappoint. His material, as usual was spot on. The atmosphere was good and everyone enjoyed the sing- a- longs. The couple next to me left a little early. Probably to avoid the rush to get out later. But, please stay for the end of the show, as not to miss the finale 😃
Towards the end of the show, Peter did a tribute to his late nana. Which I found very moving and he had me in tears. He obviously loved his grandmother very much and so it is nice, that he included her in his show.
So, thankyou Mr Kay for giving me 2 hrs of absolute joy. God knows, the whole country could do with some cheering up at the moment. I would definately recommend this show to you. The show really lifted my mood.
P.S .... I wouldn`t normally take another reviewer to task BUT.... the rant from the previous reviewer, is in my opinion ... seriously unhinged..🙃
The "dic pic" mentioned did flash up for a few seconds on the screen, but was related to a previous joke. If this man was paying any attention at all..🤔
Was it Mr Kay`s penis as stated... I doubt it!! How do YOU know... have you seen it? Its probably from the internet, there`s plenty of them to choose from!!... Take your pick 🤣
When it happened at our show, it got a huge laugh. Which was its intended purpose. Dear God, you see far worse than that, on the TV.
11/02/2025 - There are some comments on X concerning 2 hecklers, that were thrown out of the show on 8/2/2025 in Manchester.
We were at that same show and these 2 people were making it unpleasant for the other Peter Kay fans around them.
If you are going to get drunk and shout your mouth off, then these things will happen. Behaving like a victim afterwards ... is a bit pathetic. 🙄
Funny 20 years ago. Now resorts to unsolicited and illegal "d!ck pics"
At Peter Kay’s latest show, he displays a photo of his penis during a montage of his grandmother. This disgusting and unsolicited act - essentially a "d!ck pic" projected to a live audience - is something any ordinary person would face prosecution for. But Peter Kay, hiding behind the guise of “comedy,” treats it as a joke.
This is not just offensive; it is a criminal offence under the Indecent Displays (Control) Act 1981. What he is doing is illegal, plain and simple.
Audiences attend Peter Kay’s shows expecting humour from the man they remember from decades ago. Instead, they are subjected to vile and illegal shock tactics like this. Let’s be clear: this is not comedy. This is criminal behaviour that no one should have to endure.
If you are outraged by this grotesque act, you can and should report it to the police. The law exists to protect us from exactly this kind of unsolicited indecency. Just as you would never tolerate an unsolicited explicit photo on your phone, you do not have to accept it in a comedy show. Speak up. Report this. Hold him accountable.
