From start to finish, every aspect of Peru Summit Adventures was superb!! I booked our adult family of 4 for tours throughout the Sacred Valley (Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Moray, Chinchero, Tambomachay, Pukapukara, Qenqo, and Sacsayhuaman). Carlos worked with me to perfect our itinerary and make our trip effortless. We were picked up from Cusco airport in a beautiful van by our amazing driver, Franco, and our tours were led by Juan Carlos (JC). The knowledge JC had of each of our sights was fantastic. Our family loves the history, culture, and ecological aspects of the region and JC answered our many questions with depth and clear knowledge. A great tour guide is one that not only has a keen understanding of the area but also works their best to accommodate everyone in the group. JC was truly remarkable!! He was flexible and accommodating even when things were not on the original itinerary (our famished group needed lunch in Urambamba!!). We were also so grateful to Carlos and his family for arranging the pachamanca lunch---our best meal of the trip!! This was definitely an experience that we will never forget. I have no hesitations and will definitely be arranging future trips through Peru Summit Adventures!! Btw: their prices were extremely reasonable, especially for this level of service!! Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our family!!!

I want to thank Peru Summit Adventures for a truly remarkable week in the Cusco area. I want to take a moment to explain why I chose to book directly with this company rather than an on-line entity. I wanted to support a local Peruvian business rather than paying service charges to TripAdviser, Viator, etc. This was admittedly a bit nerve-racking. I would be traveling with my three grown children and none of us had ever been to South America before and booking with a local company rather than a familiar on-line booking agency was not a decision I took lightly. The first thing I did was look closely at their website. The English version is perfectly translated with no misspellings or broken links or anything that gave me pause about the legitimacy of this company. The company has clearly invested a lot of time and money into this website. The second thing I did was send an email asking about a day trip from Cusco to Lake Titicaca. TripAdviser and Viator both offer these day trips, but Peru Summit Adventures does not. I received a prompt response from Carlos, the owner of Peru Summit Adventures, that these day trips are scams and are simply not possible. I plugged the directions into GoogleMaps and found that this is an 8-hour drive each way! It’s ironic that while I had some trepidations about booking with a local company I’d never heard of, it was the big familiar booking agencies that offered the scams. After this I had no more worries about using Peru Summit Adventures. Any questions I had, no matter how small, were promptly answered by Carlos. Finally, booking directly with Peru Summit Adventures saved us an incredible amount of money because we didn’t have to pay service fees to an on-line agency. My kids and I had a luxury private tour guide and driver for the week for about the same price as we would have paid for a much worse experience if we had booked multiple small-group tours through Viator. Not only did we save a lot of money, but booking through Peru Summit Adventures kept our money local and paid for a superior experience.

Our vacation began with a late-night flight into Cusco. Our guide for the week, Abraham, and our driver for the week, Edison, greeted us at the airport as soon as we arrived. They helped us with our luggage, drove us to our hotel, ensured that we got checked-in, and even carried our luggage to our room! We had a brief meeting to discuss the week’s itinerary and to see what questions or concerns we had. One of the things I really like about Peru Summit Adventures is that no one ever tried to up-sell anything. They wanted our entire week to be wonderful, and so they planned light, briefer activities for the first couple days to allow us to acclimate to the altitude. On our first day we did the walking Cusco Street Culinary Adventures which involved lots of historic points along the way as we enjoyed little tastes of different cuisines at many places far away from touristy restaurants, where locals go to eat. Throughout the week we were impressed with Abraham’s encyclopedic knowledge of food, food history, agriculture, local history, and archeology. My son is an archeologist and it was fascinating to hear him and Abraham talk about the sites we were visiting. Abraham and our driver Edison were both very attentive and courteous. One example of this is that they had heard me talk about wanting to see the Southern Cross constellation. I know they must have been tired after a long day of taking us on tours, but they made the time to pull over where it was dark and we all got out of the van and they pointed out the Southern Cross to me. We couldn’t have been happier with Abraham and Edison.

Of course all of the famous archeology sites such as Machu Picchu are breathtaking. “Wow” was the most commonly spoken word we said during our week. But in addition to the spectacular Inca ruins, one of our favorite experiences was spending a day in a Quechuan community. I very strongly recommend scheduling time for this. It was an unforgettable experience to be welcomed into their homes and lives for a day, to enjoy a meal with them, and dance with them and learn about their way of life. I wouldn’t trade this day for the world. It was one of our best experiences ever.

On our very last day, the owner of Peru Summit Adventures, Carlos, came to our hotel to debrief with us and ask our opinion about how our week went. This was excellent customer service above and beyond what we expected. This was a perfect week and none of us could think of anything that could be improved. I can’t speak highly enough of Peru Summit Adventures. I strongly recommend this company for a remarkable once-in-a-lifetime experience.
