Near non-existent customer service. There is no available physical address for this business. They didn't respond to voicemail and it takes days to respond to an email request....then not helpful. This is basically a shadow company selling Chinese made products living off the Penn name.
Poor customer service! With all the good reviews about their products, you’d figure that their customer service will be just as good or at least the response time will be better.
I ordered wrong reel and there was no way to call after hour so I immediately emailed them. No response for four days, at this point the reel was already shipped and they told me there’s nothing they can do.
This will be my first and last order from them.
I actually had a good experience with Penn. My reel a spinfisher 6, broke after a couple years of use. I sent it in for repair and they sent me a brand new spinfisher 7. I wasnt expecting that and am very greatful. I will buy Penn again. Jered
I would have never sent my reel to their service repair center if I knew months would pass with absolutely no response, called and called with no answer,, plus my expensive reel is gone
I've been using Penn reels since the early60's and currently own 10 of them.
I recently purchased a Penn 9M that was delivered with a stripped mounting stand screw. Getting in touch with Penn was PITA, involving multiple phone calls and e-mails.
HOWEVER, once we connected Penn immediately did the right thing and shipped me the replacement parts free of charge. Their customer service people were helpful, understanding and efficient. My next reel will also be a Penn.
I'd give no stars if possible. Placed order for two rods. Immediately tried to cancel because wouldn't be delivered in time. Called repeatedly Nope: no answer. Rods were shipped late. Now the website won't recognize my order number and refuses instructions on how to return. Within 12 days of purchase. Thanks a lot CCP.
Bought 4 prevail 3 surf rods. All the eyes brittle and cracked after one use and ceramic eyes fell out. Poorly made. I spent about $500 for the rods and used once. Junk!
Working with Penn company to get replaced. Painstaking! They keep telling me they are not getting photos sent but on my end sent 4 times and they went through emails.

I bought 10 boat fishing reels
Rival 15 every single one broke all the same problems level wind gave up. After only 10 uses in total some only lasting 1 or 2 usess. When I spoke to the rep he told me there not ment to be used on a boat mackerel fishing. If there no good for using on a boat why state they are boat reels. Got told by Penn that they had sorted a refund to the shop I purchased them from. But they then sent the shop an email stating they where not giving a refund. Very shocked and wasted over £500. Will be taking them to court.
I ordered a rod and reel from Penn, which shipped promptly. However I received an empty box, my cameras confirm UPS delivering the empty box. I went through a lengthy back and forth with Penn customer service, including sending picture and video proof and filing a claim with UPS. It took weeks for them to ship a new rod. I found this to be unacceptable. I don't know where the box became empty, but it was not on my end. I had paid for the product and expected them to ship a replacement as fast as the original.
