I recently had a fantastic experience with pcandmacrepairs.co.uk. Jon, the engineer, arrived promptly after my request for help. He quickly fixed my Mac and provided clear instructions on maintenance to prevent future issues. His thorough and professional approach was evident as he repaired my iPad and addressed additional concerns with my PC's long-term health. Jon was easy to reach and even made a weekend house call, which was much appreciated. He took the time to ensure everything was perfect, offering valuable advice on device safety. I’m very satisfied with his service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Four stars!

I have to say what a brillian computer engineer Jon really is.

Jon (if that is even his name) replaced the screen on my Macbook Pro in October 2024. I was slightly suspicious when he said that you can either bring the item to my office or I can come to you, but the office option never materialised and he wouldn't provide a trading address. However, he did seem to know what he was talking about and, with alternative options limited at the time, he attended the property (£80 call out charge) to look at the laptop and took the unit away for investigation. He replaced the screen at a cost of £400. While the computer appears to work fine, the screen doesn't always close properly. Despite asking for my external hard-drive to be returned in-person, he posted it via Royal Mail using the wrong postcode and the item has been lost. I made several calls, emails and texts to Jon, all of which were ignored. Three weeks later, my partner contacted him from a different number. Surprise, surprise, he took the call. She eventually passed the phone to me whereby I quizzed Jon on the whereabouts of my hard-drive and why he had posted it instead of not returning it in person. He was extremely defensive and failed to accept any responsibility, and when I asked him what his trading address was, he said he would text me and then hung up. The text was never forthcoming. I cannot even make a claim via Royal Mail as he won't provide a return postal address and hasn't contacted Royal Mail either. Quite simply, the man is a rogue trader.

So, my 'strong advice' to anyone is to steer clear of this individual / company as the risk is higher than the reward.

As a general rule of thumb, check the trader's trading address, as you might need it for an insurance claim. If they won't or cannot provide one that you can validate it should serve as a red flag. Instead, find another trader that can provide you with one.

Excellent experience.Replaced hard drive in my old iMac.It's now working perfectly!

I wish I had read the large number of poor reviews from this company before I requested a visit from them. I had spoken to Jon on the phone saying that I wished to upgrade the operating system on my iMac from Mojave to a version that would not slow the computer down and he said that he would charge me at £95 per hour and that most jobs for that procedure would be complete in that time.

He duly came to my house at around 5pm and advised that the best operating system for my 2019 IMac would be the Monterey IOS. I had been reluctant to upgrade beforehand as I had required some 32 bit applications that could not work with later upgrades than Mojave. The upgrade in fact took 2 hours and without asking me he put 4 applications on my computer informing me that they would be very useful and charged me £85 for the installation! The total bill was £275 and he was very quick to produce a card machine for his services.

On using the iMac afterwards the machine took an age to open Safari and word documents. What’s more after 5 days I was invited to upgrade the Malwarebytes application, that he had added without my agreement and charged me for, from the trial version. When I telephoned Jon he said he would send the licence for the full version by email but he has not done so despite my emailing him with my address. When I informed him of the very slow operating of my iMac he said that it was due to the poor hard drive on my model which shares the drive with a solid state part. As my main concern initially was that the iMac was slowing down for it to be far worse following the upgrade I am far from happy. He should have warned me beforehand rather than saying to me I would require a new hard drive and it would cost £500!

Since the upgrade I am now much worse off than beforehand and £275 out of pocket. I strongly advise anyone against using Jon Draper of PC and Mac repairs for their computer problems.

Jon (Mac Engineer) arrived at the time he said he would on the same day I asked for help. He was nice, fixed the computer very quickly and left clear instructions about something to do routinely which might prevent the problem recurring. He said it was easy!

This evening I'm enjoying using my large iMac again just as usual

Thorough and patient - determined to solve issues - with sound experience; and with concerns about the long-term life of the pcs going forward. In other words, not just a quick fix which might not last. Also, easy to contact if related problems crop up.

Jon was clear, reliable, helpful and professional throughout. He came to our house at a weekend, made the necessary repairs and fixed a number of additional issues, all at short notice. He had also set out sensible back up plans if the problems had proved even worse! We will use him again and have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

My elderly MacBook Air had been on the blink for some time and finally gave up. I found Jon's number after a random search. He gave me a same day home appointment, turned up exactly on time, found the problem (I needed a replacement motherboard), replaced it on the spot and then cleaned up and tested everything. He wasn't entirely happy that everything was perfect and continued to run tests, deleting defunct programmes and installing new security ones. It turned out that I also needed a new keyboard, which he also replaced. He was extremely thorough, discussed and explained everything to me and I could not have been more impressed.

I had Jon out to look at my Mac. He talked a good job, seemed decent enough, paid him in cash as I know times are hard. He charged me £375 for a replacement. He had no sooner left when screen immediately showed faults. I have repeatedly phoned him, sent pictures with my texts. He does not respond. So much for the six month guarantee, it is not an equivalent like he said, even the serial numbers in my Mac and on the base do not matchThis man has no integrity and I will be contacting Trading Standards. Learn from my mistake!

John very quickly knew how to fix the problem with my iMac. He did the bulk of the work on his first visit and then kept in touch to make a second appointment to finish off. He dealt with all my queries with clear explanations. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

A very professional and great experience throughout. I identified pcandmacrepairs via Google search, and read client reviews before contacting them. Initial telephone call, email and message exchanges left me very clear in terms of the service offered to resolve my device fault, the timeframe and cost. Jon agreed a date to effect the work at my home. He arrived at the agreed time, and immediately proceeded to explain / show where the laptop failure had occurred, explain the rectification path, and had effected the replacement installation & configuration within an hour. Software for additional battery maintenance and configuration to improve battery life & operation were recommended. Annual licences for these tools were offered at a good price. I accepted Jon's offer, and these were installed & set running before the visit concluded. The total price for everything was very reasonable.
