Purchased some Skechers that were not…
Purchased some Skechers that were not true to size. Went to their website to return, clicked the return link and duly sent back. Realised that they kept the outward postage I had paid. I was happy to pay the return postage as it clearly wasn't their fault that the shoes were huge!
It clearly states on the GOV dot UK site that if you paid for standard delivery when you bought something, the seller has to refund this if you return it, even if you don't inform them of the return in advance.
Their 'Customer Service' manager Andrea told me that because I didn't ACTUALLY CANCEL the order, as in, because I didn't email or phone to tell them and just used the link on their website (as it instructs) to return the entire order that the LAW doesn't apply. I used the return process provided on their website and returned the entire order. That quite obviously constitutes a clear notification of my decision to cancel.
If returning the full order for a refund isn't actually cancelling then I am not sure what is. They are using terminology to get around consumer rights.
They did refund and made it sound like they were doing me a favour!! Imagine how much they are ripping off consumers doing this. Know your rights!
