Unfortunately, this company is the opposite of what its name suggests. They failed to deliver the level of service, caused untold disruption and left our London office in chaos.

The desks were disassembled and have been reassembled incorrectly and incompletely. Better still they left without telling anyone or that they would need to come back.

But the best bit is that they want to charge us more to address the issues that their poor planning and workmanship has created. Essentially, they haven't completed the work expected but want to charge us more.

So my advice is to avoid Painless Removals, or you're letting yourself in for a whole heap of pain!

We've used Painless Removals twice now, and they are great. First time round, they just moved a few larger items for us. This time we asked them to pack for us, move and disassemble furniture and clean our property. Dale, Tamara and the team were brilliant, we couldn't fault them at all! It was such a stressfree move for us knowing it was all in their capable hands. They were lovely and willing to help in anyway they could. Thank you all so much! 😊

I only had a three day turnaround between exchange of contract and completion. I contacted Painless Removals, and Jay was incredibly helpful from the very first contact.
The team of four removal men were so polite, helpful and efficient, I couldn't have asked for a better service.

I have used Painless Removals before and had a smooth experience, which is why I trusted them again for my move in June 2025. Unfortunately, this time could not have been more different.

During the move, my Eight Sleep Pod was damaged. The company admitted in writing that the damage occurred in their care and said they had submitted the matter to their insurers. However, over the following 11+ weeks, I received no claim reference, no proof of submission, and no timeline for resolution — only repeated delays.

Despite several formal requests and even a Letter Before Action, no compensation or payment date was provided. The company confirmed the item was damaged, but still refused to pay, citing insurer delays and their terms and conditions.

As a repeat customer, this has been a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience. The move has been anything but painless, and the difference from my previous experience with this company could not be starker.

Update: The company’s public reply below repeats their position, but to clarify — they have already admitted in writing that the Pod was damaged during the move. Whether declared or self-packed, this does not remove their statutory duty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to perform services with reasonable care and skill. After months without resolution, I have had to escalate this through the courts.

I cannot recommend this company enough!!! Made a very stressful move so much easier and were a pleasure to be around. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for everything

We had a great experience from start to finish - Jay was our first point of contact who surveyed our property for full packing service and move. Mike and Mu came to pack and then we had Mike, Jamie and Josh to move us the following day. They were lovely and made it all so easy and took a lot of stress away from the situation. Couldn’t thank them enough!

Great moving company, who applied a lot of common sense and were communicative and helpful throughout. All team members well chosen and helpful. Dealt well with the last minute ups and downs involving our chain (very late exchange) and were reassuring to us during what could have been a stressful time. Would highly recommend!

No breakages. Very helpful and polite staff who worked hard. Arrived on time.

Painless removals were excellent - I would highly recommend. We opted for the full packing and removal service. The day before completion, our belongings were packed carefully, efficiently and effectively. On the day of the removal/completion, the 5 lads were all very friendly and helpful. They packed and unpacked the lorry very quickly. Reasonably priced compared to competitors.

Such a great experience all round. On the phone Jay was helpful and friendly (and patient) when I made some changes to the arrangement. The removal guys, Pete and Mike, were just great, nothing was too much trouble and they sorted out our stuff carefully and quickly, making the move, well, genuinely painless. Then they came back to haul a large fridge over our railings which they did with confidence and humour. Painless Removals are also very competitive priced – we recommend this company wholeheartedly.

Wanted to say a massive thanks to Painless Removals for the help with my move from Bristol to Bicester. Pete and Mike made my day much easier and stress free with the move from one apartment to another. I had a lot of stuff and both buildings had no lifts, so I would like to commend Pete and Mike for their professionalism and for getting the job done. Communication was good throughout the day as well and none of my stuff was damaged in the move. Organising the move through Jay as well was simple - the initial deposit paid followed by the rest of the payment once the job was done gave me a lot of confidence and trust with the company. Overall, I would be happy to recommend them to anyone :-)

So glad we went with painless removals for our recent move. Throughout the process from getting a quote to moving day they were quick to respond and always really helpful. They completely took the stress out of moving day. The guys were incredibly careful with the furniture and walls, they were all really friendly, and more than happy to move furniture around to make sure we were happy with where it was placed before they left.

Thanks to Jay and his team for all their hard work helping us move house this week. They were all really polite, cheerful and energetic on the day. Jay was responsive to all our enquiries and much more transparent with the components of the quotation than any of the other companies we spoke to. We went for the full packing and removal package when we moved. The whole process was painless from start to finish and the team were exceptionally friendly, efficient and helpful from start to finish. Would strongly recommend their service to anyone.

We used Painless Removals 25 years ago to move house and a quarter of a century later they were just as good. Peter, Mike and Ra were a great team to work with and made our house move as painless as possible.

Very efficient. Booked them to move a heavy sofabed from my home to a relative's house. They were due to arrive earlier this afternoon but got delayed on their previous job. They phoned me to keep me well informed and updated with the time to expect them and asked if that was okay or would I prefer to rebook for another day. They arrived at the expected time, took great care carrying it downstairs and have delivered it safely. Would most definitely recommend them.

They have a great team at Painless Removals. We booked in for an office move and the whole process was easy, they showed up on time and got stuck in straight away. This took a lot of stress away from the whole project.
