Oxford Home Schooling Omdömen 

The course was not structured with any tuition. It was all self study. There was no interaction with any other students. The sessions with the tutor were very short and predominantly just for an assessment. On occasions these sessions had to be cancelled or rearranged on the tutor's behalf at short notice. There was often a long delay waiting for a response from the tutor if the student had a query/problem.

I live in East Africa and my daughter did 2 GCSE's online with Oxford Home Learning. The tutor help and support was excellent and the course materials were easy to use. She passed both subjects with good grades and is now continuing on to do A-levels in the same subjects. I would recommend Oxford Home Learning to parents considering Home schooling their children.

My son did 4 GCSEs through OOL as a bridging year after moving to the UK from USA. We were pleased, on the whole. The course materials were very good, as were the tutors. Feedback was quick and tutors available by email or phone. The biggest plus was the bank of assessment evidence that naturally accumulate through the way OOL works, which means that when time came for TAGs because of cancelled exams, my son had everything in place. He did not need to sit extra exams. I would definitely recommend OOL for home schooling.

Most of the staff were excellent, professional and very helpful. However, some of the tutors were lacking, there is no face-to-face or video contact, so this should mean that the tutor's ability to teach, through only phone calls and emails should be exceptional, but this wasn't the case. In regards to maths and science, which need more tutorials and a visual explanation, the learning aids that Oxford offers are seriously lacking and therefore did affect my daughter's final grade. I overall, would not recommend this service, however, I do appreciate the English tutor that we had, Dawn was excellent!

My son has done his IGCSEs and A levels with Oxford Open Learning, and it has been a great experience. He achieved good marks in all subjects including two 9s and an A star. Tutors were very helpful and he built a rapport with them that inspired him to pursue his passion for writing. In particular he had such good experience with both the English Language tutors, Felicity Kaye for the IGCSE English language and literature and Jacqui Hopkins who followed him for the English Language A level. He was able to continue his sport training full time without missing out in a good quality education thanks to the flexibility and efficiency of the courses offered by Oxford Open Learning.

I've had 2 kids who've done a handful of subjects collectively with Oxford Home Schooling, with a possible third in the next year or two. The whole system works very well, with awesome resources, if your child is disciplined enough to do the work. The only input I had with mine was in asking when the next assignment was due.

All the tutors we've had have been excellent, providing great feedback and support, and a couple even "hounding" my kids if an assignment was overdue. That was very much appreciated by this parent.

I took away one star because the customer service needs to be improved. At £375 - £425 per subject, I expect better, and not as if the admin staff is doing me a favour each time I speak to one of them with a query. Because good customer service is crucial, no matter what your business is.

As a learning platform, I am a huge fan, and always speak of Oxford Home Schooling in glowing terms.

Having decided to homeschool my daughter who disliked High School, I was thankful to find Oxford Home Schooling. It offers a very good service with excellent resources and support. The constructive feedback I would like to offer is that some of the tutors were very supportive and offered guidance, but the felt the maths tutor was always too busy to engage or offer guidance. Her service was more of a marking papers service, which was a shame. Also, she rarely spoke to us. I would suggest that to improve your service, please monitor your tutors and check what they are doing and not doing. I would recommend Oxford Home School, but be clear on what support you should expect and make sure your child is given this support.

Fantastic home Schooling, with very helpful and patient Tutors. Well organised and professional guidance for all students.

My daughter did two GCSE’s during lockdown. Oxford home learning were very supportive, and she was able to pass with good grades in a much shorter time than she would have in school, with the personalised support.

Overall positive experience

Excellent. Guided us through. No question was too much for admin. Tutors answered assignments within 5 days at the latest. Access to videos to explain subjects further. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent Company and very supportive for both me as the parent, and my daughter. She enjoyed studying 5 GCSEs and built a good relationship with her tutors. Taking her out of school was definitely the best move, and Oxford Open Learning guided us through 2 years of home study. Although my daughter is now at College doing her ALevels, we know we can always come back to this company if it doesn't work out. Couldn't recommend them enough! All the study material is provided, and after working through 3/4 lessons, there is an assignment which is returned to the tutor for marking - this is how they gauge the students understanding. Tutor support is available via phone and email, with regular catch ups. We never felt on our own. My daughter enjoyed this time immensely.

The level of support provided was not consistent across tutors. I also felt that were not equally passionate and committed to provide guidance to my child.

My daugter studied GCSE Maths at OOL. She had one of the outstanding Maths teachers any parent could wish for. Caryl Jones is the name of the teacher who supported my daughter throughout her learning. A truly amazing human being I'd recommend her to parents with professional commitmnets like myself.
To any aprent out there who have a self driven child OOL is the place to send your child for better education.
Caryl Jones is one reliable teacher available to students questions via email and telephone, she'll keep both parents and children up to date with school activities as well. My daughter has passed her GCSE Maths at OOL unlike her cousins who failed theirs in mainstream schools due to the pandemic.
I'll am ever so greatful for the existance of Oxford Open Learning.

Both of my children studied iGCSE’s with Oxford Home Schooling and the overall
experience was great. From the website with courses details, application, payment, delivery and final exam, all ran smoothly.
In all cases my children had external tutoring for each subject as the provided tutors were only there for TMA feedback. If I were to make a suggestion, then it would be to have the possibility for more tutor hours from Oxford Home Learning teachers.
Other than that my experience has been great and the opportunity for kids to study iGCSE’s from home, it just perfect.

Very disapointing organisation - student support poor, communication very poor. Would not recommend to anyone.Tutoring is generally non-existent. Son Started with much enthusiasm which was very soon diminished.

Absolutely excellent. This was the best decision we ever made for my daughter. She achieved all Grade 9s and one Grade 8 in her GCSEs and we were all delighted. All her tutors were amazing. It is very well organised and much, much better than I ever anticipated. I would highly recommend.
