Their System Let Me Book an Impossible Service — I Paid for It
I purchased an online electronic signing of an affidavit of execution for a will. I was cancelled on right when the appointment was about to start and informed this document needs to be signed in person for an additional charge. Instead of offering a full refund, the company has told me I can get a refund minus 25% for a cancellation fee. My issue is that I did not cancel the request, the company cancelled the request so why should I be charged a fee? Secondly, I was cancelled on because the Notarypro system let me schedule an electronic signing of a document which cannot be signed online. I should have been told this while submitting my booking. In fact, the system should not have let me proceed with the booking if it did not follow legislative requirements. Under the document types which can be signed online, included are "Affidavits (all kinds)", and this can be found on their website. This is clearly misleading information and false advertising.

We’re sorry for the frustration this caused and understand how disappointing this experience must have been.
At the time of booking, our system does provide a notice that certain documents—such as an Affidavit of Execution for a will—may require in-person signing due to legal requirements. While we allow clients to proceed with booking in case they need guidance, our team also reviewed your appointment, explained the requirements, and offered to transfer you to the appropriate service. This option was declined.
As a result, our standard cancellation policy was applied. That said, we always aim to be as transparent as possible and appreciate your feedback regarding how this information is presented during booking.
