I really hoped I wouldn’t have to leave…
I really hoped I wouldn’t have to leave this review, as I’m not usually someone who writes negative reviews, but unfortunately the situation has become extremely frustrating.
I purchased a Tomo Line 160×200 bed at the beginning of July, with an expected delivery date of August 28th. The bed eventually arrived on September 14th, more than two weeks later than originally scheduled. I was told that the delay was due to an issue with their supplier responsible for the bed headboards.
However, the main issue is not the delay.
Before placing my order, I contacted Noah Living to make sure that I could purchase a slatted bed base from another supplier in Italy, specifically to avoid any problems or wasting money on a slatted bed base that wouldn’t fit. I provided the exact dimensions and even sent links to specific products, asking for clear confirmation that a standard 160 × 200 cm slatted base with those measurements would fit inside the Tomo bed frame. I was told that it was possible to purchase the slatted bed bases separately.
Despite my very specific questions, I was sent a diagram showing several measurements of the bed, but not the one measurement that actually mattered in this case: the internal space available for the slatted bed base.
Only after receiving and assembling the bed did I discover that the internal space does not actually accommodate a standard 160 × 200 cm slatted base. The base needs to be shorter and slightly narrower. As a result, the €150 slatted bed base I had already purchased — based on the information and confirmation I had requested before ordering the bed — simply does not fit.
To make matters worse, because of the delay in the delivery of the bed, by the time I was finally able to discover that the slatted base was not compatible, the return period had already expired. This meant that I could not even return it and recover the €150 I had spent.
I contacted Noah Living about the problem more than once. The only solution I was offered was the possibility of purchasing their own two single slatted bed bases without paying the shipping costs. Considering that I had already spent €150 on a base that I cannot use precisely because I was not given the necessary measurements despite explicitly asking for them before purchasing the bed — and that, due to the delayed delivery, I was no longer even able to return it — I find this response not adequate.
And the problem is still unresolved. Today is September 26th and I am still unable to use the bed. I have spent a considerable amount of time searching for alternative slatted bed bases in Italy that would actually fit the internal dimensions of the Tomo, and I couldn't find them. This is not even a question of trying to find a cheaper alternative: even if I were willing to spend more, I cannot find readily available slatted bed bases in Italy with the specific dimensions required by this frame. So almost a month after the bed was originally supposed to be delivered, and nearly two weeks after it finally arrived, I still have a brand-new bed in my home that I cannot actually sleep in.
To make matters worse, the bed was also delivered without assembly instructions. I therefore had to figure out the entire assembly myself, literally working from photos of individual bolts and components and using ChatGPT to understand how everything was supposed to fit together. Thankfully, I eventually managed to assemble it, but this should obviously not be necessary when purchasing a bed at this price point.
The most frustrating part is that all of this could have been avoided very easily. I did my due diligence before buying: I asked the questions, provided the measurements and even sent links to the slatted bed bases I intended to purchase. I specifically asked for confirmation because I wanted to avoid exactly this situation.
Had I been given the correct internal dimensions from the beginning, I would have purchased the appropriate slatted bed bases and there would have been no issue at all.
I like the design of the bed, which makes the whole experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the combination of the delivery delay, the incomplete dimensional information despite my requests, the lack of assembly instructions, the €150 I have already spent on a slatted bed base that I can neither use nor return, and the fact that I am still unable to use the bed as of September 26th has turned what should have been a straightforward purchase into an unnecessarily frustrating and expensive experience.
