Rogue behaviour at my local Nisa shop
My local Nisa shop, on Chester Road, Highgate, sold me an item for higher than the displayed price, in violation of Consumer Protection regulations (2005). When I returned to obtain a refund of the amount over-charged, the staff member became angry, shouted at me, and said that he would refund the money but banned me from the shop. What makes matters worse is that the national Nisa organisation disclaims any influence over local shops, which may explain why I have seen so many complaints about over-charging at local Nisa shops. It is entirely the responsibility of the Nisa organisation if it writes contracts with its local shops that fail to prohibit or sanction violations of the law. Nisa nationally is accordingly tolerating illegal over-pricing by using a contract that permits such rogue behaviour. I would encourage Trading Standards to mount an investigation.
Staff need training
It takes months to build up a good reputation and two complete idiots to sour it so much that I will never personally set foot in the building again.
First complaint.
The night staff are overcharging people because (in their words) "it's extra overnight"
And one particular arrogant little bloke just plainly refuses to scan the BP app (my local Nisa is attached to a BP garage) unless he has the cash first.
Try to argue the point that he doesn't need the cash first, he just stands there shaking his head refusing to scan the card.
I know that last is a little thing, but he was so damn rude with that attitude.
Not only that, but the staff get on the loudspeaker every time someone is on their phone within 10 feet of the forecourt, even if that person isn't actually on their property.
Kind people
I think this shop is mega friendly to us! The people there are nice and kind.
Actively running price display scam and…
Actively running price display scam and do absolutely nothing for the customer for their wages paid by inflated prices. For 1 week now the uncle Ben's micro rice has been advertised as £1 big on the shelf yet on the till repeatedly comes up as £1.50. today the guy even said to me "ye the shelf is wrong" no stop trana scam old women the price displayed especially when bold is the price to be paid. Till hasn't had promotional offer applied which I suspect theyre doing on purpose considering these points...it took 3.people to get my £1 rice after arguing, 2.people to scan my items. They refuse to pack it in the store bought bags despite being two of them with much more room than I with all the bs in your face product placed on my side and are just getting paid to pick something up and go beep and put it back down then at the end just stood there staring at me. Not a supermarket with aisle tills it's a local shop and your prices are inflated to pay staff wages. On top of this the aisles are constantly littered with packaging boxes all through out the day so you can't walk down the aisles with a basket and god forbid someone come the opposite way while you've got a basket. Also selling 10 fish fingers for £4.50 is beyond absolute scamming rotten behaviour. Non patriotic company avoid.
Disgusting Customer Service
Visited the Nisa store at Nodes Point Parkdean Holiday Park, Isle of Wight last week as we were staying on site, and purchased a few items including a bottle of wine. The man behind the counter packed it all in one Nisa carrier bag, and as we walked out of the store, the bottle of wine fell through the bottom of the bag and smashed all over the concrete outside the door. After picking all of the glass up, I went back into the store to ask for a replacement bottle, but the man refused and told me that they aren't his bags, it's not his problem, and that if I wanted another bottle of wine then I would have to pay for it. I could understand it if I had been gone for an amount of time and then come back, but we had literally just gone over the threshold in the doorway. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Tried making a complaint directly to Nisa but was told that all the stores are independently owned.
Not receiving parcel
When I went to the EVRI parcel shop to return a parcel, the staff initially said my parcel was too big and then 10sec later they claimed their scanning machine is out of order and refused me to return my parcel.
The worst customer service
The worst customer service. I visited Park Dean holiday park local Nisa store in Isle of Wight recently. The saleswoman was the rudest and most unprofessional person I have ever come across. The person was closing the store and I didn’t realise that the closing time was at 6pm. The door was still open. As soon as I walked in she started shouting and I was literally shocked with the behaviour. The staff really need customer service course and monitoring by the senior management. Never again
West Kilbride Nisa
I use the Nisa in West Kilbride often and am always happy when I leave. They are always helpful and I find their prices reasonable.
The staff is BY FAR the friendliest I've ever met and they always remember my face. 10/10....make it 11/10 because they always have fresh rolls from the bakery🙂
The prices are extortionate
The prices are extortionate. How this company hasn’t been investigated for profiteering I will never know. Just shop elsewhere people. Avoid this scummy company

Always insist on a receipt and always double check it - Im overcharged every time
Nisa , Banks Buildings, New Herrington, Houghton le Spring DH4
If I had 50p for every time Ive had the following experience, I’d be rich:
Wine- most with no shelf edge labels at all, some have shelf edge labels which- when scanned at the til, come up more expensive than the POS label ( e.g. pos 7.49, scans through the til 9.99). I challenge - person says “oh we in the middle of changing all the labels over” - no you’re not, you’re trying to cheat customers who don’t check what they’re being charged.
Ice cream - correctly labelled pos price, scanned at til 50p more . Same excuse
Cheetos crisps -flippantly picked up from in front of til, no pos price - I thought maybe £1.50 or something, total came to way more than expected so I queried the price - he’d rang them in at £3.75!!!!!!! I’m talking like a normal family sized single bag of snacks.
There’s either nowt on the shelves or you can’t get round the shop without almost tripping over the boxes in aisles being emptied. some of the co op ranges are usually self priced so that’s ok. I used to do probably 3 top up shops a week before it changed hands but now Its a last resort to go in as I can guarantee that I’ll have to query a price.
Nisa local Yateley
Nisa local Yateley
There is nothing on the shelves, this has been the case for months. I asked the staff if they were closing down as it has rows and rows of empty shelves ...no biscuits, confectionery, staple supplies etc. I was told they were having a problem with delivery. This was 3 months ago and nothing has changed. I used the cash point and was asked if I was intending buying anything to which I replied...there is nothing to buy.
Not great for the Nisa reputation
NISA Daws Hill Lane 👎
+ Excellent location.
+ Clean, well-lit.
+ Staff are friendly enough.
- Ridiculously over-priced for known brands.
- Lots of (high margin) stuff nobody wants (like a whole aisle of overpriced unbranded bagged nuts).
- Doesn't have what the local community really needs: (i.e. newspapers, Post Office, Amazon Lockers, Evri drop-off, etc.)
Just feels like the owners are out of touch with the local community and are trying to make a quick return. I suspect it would be way more successful if it were a Coop (better range, better prices, more trusted brand in tune with community needs, etc.)
Petrol price advertised is misleading
Petrol price advertised is misleading, when you go to pay the price is higher.
I understand why low star review
I understand why low star review. I shop in erith store each time I get stare from security and the staff. I got fed up after 3 months of shopping. I asked about a product to staff and literally every staff member anticipated me to run out of store with pkt of biscuits. I'm not far off 58 and have various aches and pain in my feet and legs. I am a bit awkward walking and can only trotting for about 2 minutes then really tired.
I put back biscuits and walked out after asking if they want my custom. They beckon me out of store. I spent over 200£ in 3 months each time they thought I had bad intentions. Never want to return even if they paid me
Brutal
Hi. Couldnt use the Evri machine in the NISA shop Ballater Street, Gorbals, Scotland. Only asked for help. Not me getting pushed by a guy in his 40s and accused of being a thief. (first and last time in there).
He had something in his hand and when I done something wrong on the EVRI he would hit my hand with whatever it was in his hand. It fit in his hand. 8:30pm check your CCTV. Your lucky im not having your arrested.
Cheaper than the Sainsbury’s opposite
Consistently cheaper and better stocked than the Sainsbury’s opposite and the chemist next door. Staff friendly and helpful, fantastic opening hours, they were even open all over Christmas.
Nisa local Langley Road is the worst shop
Nisa local, Langley Road store staff is very rude. the staffs treats customers like thief. The Franchise should replace this owner.
Terrible attitude
Terrible attitude with staff the shop has went downhill if it was not local I would not use it
