DO NOT use this company

DO NOT use this company! I'd give zero stars if I could. Hired them for cross country move last November. Sent $1578 deposit. Three weeks before the move I had an accident, had emergency surgery and had to cancel my move. I had already quit my job and was going to be unable to work for at least 6 months. Called the company for a refund, explained my dilemma and was told no refund for a year per policy. They did not care that I needed the refund. So one year later I am trying to get my refund and of course they are refusing. Why? I didn't get an explanation. I've called numerous times, no one ever answers the phone and no return calls to speak to someone. I've sent emails, went to the BBB and FTC. Finally received an email stating unfortunately they cannot refund my money but I can use the money for a future move! First of all I am not moving and even if I was I would never use this company! And you shouldn't either. Run run run from them!!!

Worst Moving Company in the US

Long story short, they took my deposit, was supposed to do the move at 8am. They got there at 10:30pm. They tacked on an additional $1700+ in fees (including stair fees when I told them I was on the 2nd floor). I am preparing to legally fight for my deposit back. Those who scammed me included: Jim Cummings, Alex Connor, Amanda, and Ahmed. I was moving out of the Sacramento area. Call Pack ‘n Load movers instead!

Warning Total nightmare of a company will rip you off at every step

Warning: Avoid This Moving Company at All Costs

This company caused me severe stress, financial loss, and damage to nearly everything I own. What should have been a routine move turned into a nightmare.

I was quoted a price, but then told it might increase after an in-person review. So I scheduled a FaceTime walkthrough and showed them exactly what I was moving. After that, they added $1,800 to the original quote.

Communication was a disaster. There was no reliable phone number to call. They pushed me to use a chat feature that no one ever responded to.

I thought the FaceTime call would settle everything. I was wrong. When the movers showed up, they said they couldn’t take certain items and tried to tack on another $1,000. I refused. Because of that, I had to leave behind some of my things just to move that day.

Then came the delivery—and it only got worse.
• Every single table was broken.
• Legs were snapped off. Tabletops torn apart.
• Fragile items? All shattered.
• My belongings were crammed into drawers, hats crushed, boxes destroyed.
• My $3,500 mattress arrived soaking wet. The $250 protective cover I paid for? Missing.
• Furniture was scratched, taped together, and manhandled.
• Expensive personal items—including a scarf, purse, and shoes—were stolen.

And it didn’t stop there. When they tried moving my couch in, they refused to remove the handrails—until after they damaged the walls and ripped off my thermostat. That cost me $200 to repair. They eventually removed the handrails but left them broken. The walls are scratched, the damage obvious.

As if that weren’t enough, they insisted on cash payment on moving day—something most people can’t just pull together. When I tried to use my credit card, they slapped on a 2% fee. This felt like a scam from every angle.

I emailed them immediately after the move. They promised to send information to start the claims process for all the damage. They never followed up. Not once. I was ghosted.

To make matters worse:
• Their truck had a handwritten sign taped to the side.
• The workers were undocumented and did not speak English.
• They had an underage kid unloading boxes.
• I paid $700 for unpacking services. They didn’t unpack a thing. They dumped boxes in my house, left a mess, and took off.
• My garage was full of their mess for over a month.

This company is unethical, unprofessional, and potentially operating illegally. I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, consumer protection agencies, and considering legal action.

Do not use this company. Spare yourself the financial loss, the emotional stress, and the damage to your home and belongings.

My grandparents were nervous about moving, but this company treated them with kindest and respect. They packed everything carefully and ensured the transition to their new home was smooth.

SCAM ALERT - Bait and Switch

SCAM ALERT! - They give you a good price with lots of discounts and make you pay in my case a $500 nonrefundable deposit to lock you into the scam. When the mover arrives - the person showed me a space on his truck that appeared to be about 8' by 8' and said if it took more than this space, I would have to pay the extra up front. I showed him my contract that listed all the items I had been quoted the price for. He supposedly called the guy Mark and came back and showed me how they computed the price for 300 sq feet and that they do not go by items as listed in the contract. I figured we could get the bulk of the stuff in the space he showed me initially, so I went ahead and paid the $450 via Venmo to start the loading. I had to help him load the king size mattress and box springs. He then showed me the ribs in the roof of the truck (about 2 linear feet) and told me the space I bought according to him 300sq foot was only two of those ribs. At this point I told him to cancel the move and return my Venmo payment. He eagerly agreed and wrote me out a handwritten receipt with a phone number for Moe to call and return my Venmo minus $15 for the mattress cover he put on. No one answered of course but he did call back later and said he had not received the Venmo money because I put a dispute on it (Another story in itself). I decided to cut my loses and rent a 6x12' covered uhaul truck which easily fit all of my stuff for less than $300 and it cost me less than $200 in gas to move it myself. Now submitting claims with my bank and Pay-Pal to recover my deposit. But if I don't, I still saved $900 on the original scam of $1400 to do the move.

I don't want to move again....

I want to start off by saying that Yevgen, the gentleman who kept us updated after the pickup of our things, was great.

From here forward, I can't stress enough after two cross country moves (Washington to Florida and back) with two separate companies, just sell what isn't a family heirloom or dear to you, and just re-purchase what you need and skip a moving company. The cost of cross country moves are not worth it, the damage to your things, possible storage costs at 3-4 times normal prices, etc.

We chose Next Stop Moving & Storage due to their great rating. They worked with us on pricing which was awesome and appreciated.

First warning: Make sure you don't need storage. You get one month free, which most moving companies offer. After that, it is $1 per cubic foot in the busy season because storage room is at a premium, so you will pay the premium. We did $6,900 worth of storage which killed us, but we didn't have a choice. We had planned to use part of the first month of storage and than move our stuff out once we had a house. The home fell through and took us 4 months to get into a home.

Lastly, in the contract, it says, "NEXT STOP MOVING & STORAGE SERVICES ADVANTAGES INCLUDE:

.....Disassembly and reassembly of basic furniture...." They did do disassembly of furniture, but when our stuff was delivered to the new house, NOTHING was re-assembled. My office furniture had chips out of it, and two deep dents that would take an enormous amount of force to make. We had a fair amount of broken or damaged items. Not something we experienced with our other moving company. The movers also expected tips once they are done.

After making storage payments, I would still get calls or texts for a coupe days to pay as the right hand and left hand don't communicate it seems on client accounts.

I'm just happy to have this whole situation behind us. I don't want to go through this process again.

AVOID at all costs!

The sales rep lied from the start, including misrepresenting themselves as well as the terms of the contract. Once they have your deposit the price doubles. They are unresponsive. They don't answer emails or phone calls. Unless they want more money they will not return calls. They forced me to pay extra to shuttle my belongings to my house despite the fact that the semi could have easily driven here. BEWARE this company is unprofessional, dishonest, and price gouge.

Worst company ever!!

Worst company ever!!! They lie to you to make a non refundable sale. Then increase the price on you and you have no choice but to pay it. They don’t return calls, emails or texts. They lie about when you will get your things. My elderly mother has been in a hotel for days still waiting for her stuff. This company is a disgrace!!!!

Legit theft of my couch

am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Next Stop moving. It has been three months since I hired them to move my belongings, and my couch still hasn't been delivered. Despite multiple calls and follow-ups, I’ve received nothing but excuses and empty promises. Their lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.

What’s even more frustrating is that I’ve been given no clear timeline for when (or if) my couch will arrive. I trusted this company to handle my move professionally, but instead, I’ve been left waiting for months with no resolution. I would not recommend next stop moving to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient moving service.

Angelo has completely removed himself and never replied after got my money.

AFTER ALL THIS DAMAGE THEY ACT LIKE THEY CARE BUT DON'T I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH THRU BBB AND A MONTH LATER NOTHING STILL BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY A PENNY. SO BE CAREFUL AND DON'T TRUST THEM MY BOYFRIEND AND I WISH THIS NEVER HAPPENED TO US. OH WE MOVED FROM CALIFORNIA TO PENNSYLVANIA MAJOR MOVE AND TO BE TREATED WITH THIS TYPE OF SERVICE AWFUL!!!!
