Had my pip assessment on the 16th January 2024.
They where late with the call, this was just the start.
Having had a really bad year in 2023 starting with a double bypass and culminating in stage 3 heart failure.
I received a review form as I arrived home from having had the bypass surgery during wich i had major complications.
I was struggl8ng to catch my breath during the assessment wich is part of my condition I also had to take my gtn spray which I informed the assessor his response was to try and twist my answers even knowing the struggle and distress that was being caused.
Absolutely disgusting treatment from a so called health professional.
They need to experience what they are putting extremely vulnerable dissabled people through.

This is the 3rd time they have canceled on me now.

I have level 2 autism, I have no slept for 2 nights, my mother was going to be there but they moved the appointment so she could not, and they cancelled again, it really is cruel and unusual punishment.

We are the most vulnerable in society, the person who called me to cancel today got frustrated as I have verbal communication issues and I have to take time to respond, on top of the fact I have problems forming words verbally.

I am under the crisis team at the minute for suicidal thoughts as I am deemed as having a real likelihood of acting on them, trying to cope with this is really just too much, I dont actually care about the money although I do not have any, the stress of all this, not sleeping and all the other problems is just not worth it, it is just cruel.

ALWAYS LOG A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH ASSESSMENT MANAGERS.Do not proceed if your assessor is Jennifer lumb.
She lies and twists your answers to back up her barefaced lies and dishonesty. TRY AND RECORD YOUR INTERVIEW to protect yourself from a nightmare.
These assessors are not to be trusted.
They trigger anxiety to claimant , cause you to s much inconvenience in writing to get mandatory review, which by the lies these assessors tell to the DWP, you have no chance of reinstated claim. Then they put you through appeal process wrongfully, they are wrong they just review and reinstate. , Clucks sake.
Why put claimant through this charade when you are clearly going to overturn the original decision? . .?
Anyone would think the money was coming from the assessors pocket!

This is barbaric, no wonder claimants commit suicide !

Absolutely disgusting bare faced liars!! Was supposed to have an assessment between 13.00 and 16.00 on the 18th. They rang at 14.35 that day to say they needed me to speak to a gp there but there wasnt one so theyd transfer me to another centre before 4pm, call lasted 38 seconds, have it in records still. No call til 4.58pm from a random landline number in bristol what came up telemarketing, nearly an hour after their appointment time. Get told today i missed the appointment when i didnt! Typical government thing, lie deny responsibility and blame people for their wrongdoings!

My bank details got messed up, the back pay I was relying on to meet a bill so that I had enough to go food shopping didn't arrive due to a clerical error on their end. I've currently been on hold for over an hour with them. I believe this to be intentional, as I had requested a formal complaint to be filed against the person who may have caused this and also said I would be phoning up the day after to find out who it had been and follow up on the complaint prcedure.

UPDATE AFTER CALL:
Today when I phoned after being on hold over an hour over 2 calls, I was greeted first by a pleasent enough lady who after hearing my issues put me through to a woman who's attitude and tone was nothing but condescending, I was then lied to by her about me needing to call my bank to try and sort this issue, the bank told me that any errors from PIP whether made by myself or them would be sorted through them and that they already knew this. I had already tried to put this view forward, but was told plainly it is for the bank to deal with, again a complete and utter lie. I was then told I would be called back and that the woman was waiting for a call back from her manager and that she "must be on a break" when the offices close at 5pm, my guess was that she had gone home. I am currently absolutely livid at the ineptitude of this woman and will also be requesting a formal complaint against her for her general demeanour and willing deceit of a person with dissabilities. Absolutly appauling. Going forward I shall be recording ALL phonecalls with PIP or any other branch that deals with government issued payments as they seem to think that because we are disabled/on benefits we can be spoken down and lied to. Again appauling.

Having your medical issues assessed by those who aren't medical professionals will always lead to high proportions of incorrect calls that have supremely damaging effects on the mental & physical wellbeing of those often most sorely effected.

In my case and I'm sure many others who have dealt with IAS have found themsleves grossly misinterpreted or misunderstood and been striped of their income along with their dignity leaving people in often worse states then they were before dealing with IAS.

I can say in no uncertain terms they have absolutely destroyed the lives of my partner & I. Never have we felt so low, helpless or disregarded.
Thanks Independent Assessment Services, I hope you provide counciling to your staff to help them process the fact they are complicit in destroying the lives of some of the UKs most vulnerable people. 👍🏻

my 16 year old son had a phone assessment the assesser did not know my sons age and he didont no what age you had to be to changed over from dla to pip .my dad had to tell him and now my son dla has stopped the assesser didont no what he was doing . i have got in contact with my mp and she said i should appeal witch i have i have all so asked for a coppy of the phone call

My actual assessor was OK over the phone the let I received telling me I didn't qualify was dismissive and when I received the letter back after requesting mandatory reconsideration I was upset by how rude condescending the response was.

Total waist of time no real purpose was achieved in the interview the interviewer seemed to have no compassion just seemed to be a very a average box ticketer me and my wife left totally shell shocked this has not help me in any way with my state of mind

Disgusting service used by DWP for pip assessments . Was accused of being verbally abusive towards him ( a paramedic assessed me ? ) we recorded the whole assessment. A complete and utter disgrace. . We are waiting for the complaints package too start the complaint process.

Thought pip assessment went well. Assessor seemed to be patient and understanding. Just received a copy of assessment report. The report is no way a representation of my assessment. Seems like they were speaking to somebody else. Even stating I can understand information easily as I have passed a driving test ( in 1980) a lot has changed since then. Also making references to an earlier pip assessment and copying and pasting those remarks/ scores into my new assessment. I'm shocked and dismayed this government employs this company.

Had a pip assessment at 13.00 today.
Got a call and nobody was on the line. Second call 40 minutes later, I could hear the call being disconnected. No follow up call after the calls were unsuccessful out of common and professional courtesy.
These are a bunch of outsourced cowboys.
Really shocking experience!

So I'm a carer and my patient had a medical with Tracy the asseser was polite considerate and told the truth the review award result was carried on at same rate as before

If I could rate it 0 stars I would. They come across as sweet nice and caring during your assessment....this is so far from the truth of what they're really doing. Report full of lies, even mentioned general appearance, it was a phonecall NOT a video call. I jave reports from OT and musculoskeletal. I cannot walk even a few steps safely in an acceptable tike period and to an acceptable standard and that's with a hospital supplied walking aid!!! Didn't get awarded on either mobility or daily care. I phoned the morning of receiving my decision letter to start the process for MANDATORY RECONSIDERATION then will most likely go to tribunal where I know I will 100% be awarded it based on my mobility issues and all the medical evidence I have that they have obviously never even looked at. The DWP, Independant Assessment Services and Capita should hang their heads in absolute shame. Causing so much stress anxiety and upset to people with disabilities is downright disgusting. I recommend everyone to fight their decision all the way!!

Beating in mind these assessors are meant to be health professionals they are Orr’s, uncaring, dishonest and causing people’s illnesses to plummet.

Had my assessment and the report was full of lies and inaccuracies. Was told it had been reported but it wasn’t, I think they are just as corrupt as the government who gave them the contract.

They make up lies and "miss information" fail to accurately report how disability affects you don't take actual medical advice from GP into account makes up b.s about further evidence they have acquired that doesn't actually exist

They show controlling behaviour towards people

They people personal details to make up lies about them

They are very rude towards people

They are very unhelpful

Thick asf tbh, pass you around like a domino’s while being on hold for an hour , clearly bringing in some average joe from Ghana to take the heat on calls.

Need a new system country is failing massively

Staff not helpful blame other people take way too long with things and lose things

Disgraceful, inhumane morons. I’m 72yrs old, been on DLA for a few years, was getting worse & needed help. When phoned DLA was told I had to change over to PIP!! My nightmare then began. I have a car on Motability & after the so called assessment I got a letter saying my car would be taken off me!! Unbelievable as I can hardly walk. After putting in an appeal, was refused. My GP then got involved & they then changed there mind. To say I was treated like scum is an understatement. I don’t know how these so called humans sleep at night.
You are a disgrace! Maybe if & when you get old & or disabled & in need of help I pray you get treated as you treated me & others you have put through hell.
