DISH NETWORK
After 6 years with Dish my control box completely died. I got a new one and after one month they are saying that it is obsolete. They pretty much forced me to agree to their Hopper which I didn't want. Since all except one of the people I have talked to speaks broken English, I couldn't understand what they were saying. When the technician came to install he informed me that I would have to sign another TWO YEAR contract and my monthly rate would be $20 higher. I did understand that she said my charge would remain the same. I've put up with poor service for far more time than is reasonable! Turns out that my old TV's are not compatible and in order to install the Hopper I need to go to best buy and purchase three new parts. Then reschedule for something I do not want, can't afford and was given information that was not true. So I still have the one month old control box, a new remote that is supposed to operate TV # 1 but operates the living room and the bedroom. The second TV changes with the one in the living room. The Hopper installer was great. He tried to get it to program the way it previously did but since they were supposed to send me remote number one but sent number two it won't work. So I have two #2 remotes and both TVs change with the living room I am paying too much. So when the one month old control box completely shuts down, I will decide what to do then. Until that happens I will just have to put up with it like it is. I hate calling Dish because I have been treated very rudely and/or cannot understand a word they are saying. One of them was living in Nicaragua!

I signed up for Dish in October 2023.I have not received the $300 gift card that was promised from day one.I went on the Dish app and claimed it like they say to so,but nothing .Also,I canceled the promotional Starz/ Showtime promo,but they never removed it from my account so now I'm stuck paying an extra $30 a month for channels I don't watch.Tried calling them but get directed to people overseas that barely speak English and what little they do speak I can't understand them.Very tempted to pay whatever I have to to get rid of Dish and be done with them.I thought DirecTV sucked,but Dish is ten times worse! Very unsatisfied with them.....
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES
I’ve been a DISH customer for the past 3 years. I finally paid to get out of my contract because I couldn’t put up with them any longer. My complaints were as follows;
1# every time it rains the service goes out.
2# their Hopper service is terrible
3# ON DEMAND doesn’t work most of the time. You choose a program from “their” list, when you go to play it back it says “event has expired”
#4 I had a “faulty” (their determination) Hopper they sent me a new one (which did the same thing) THEN denied getting the old Hopper back & tried to charge me for it.
#5 CUSTOMER SERVICE is almost impossible to reach. Plan on at least a 1 hour hold. When & if you do get thru to someone, good luck in understanding them.
#6 I have returned my equipment, have pictures of the equipment that was packed in the box, have a pic of the UPS shipping label, the receipt for shipping, the UPS tracking info, confirmation of UPS delivery & emails from Dish saying they’ve received my equipment. All of that was done because the shipping store advised me to do that because he says he has many complaints from customers who shipped items to Dish that they deny receiving.
In my experience & all of my problems, not 1 time was I able to speak to someone who actually cared about solving one of these situations.
With my experiences mentioned above (plus a couple I didn’t mention) I COULDN’T WAIT to drop Dish. Never ever again.
My mother passed away and is still being charged.
My mother passed away in July of 2023. In August of 2023 I canceled her Dish Network services. Dish has continued to charge me for the services. I received a confirmation number when I canceled the service. It turns out that it was a bogus number. I can't believe that a company would try to take advantage of a death in the family by lying about the cancelation and continuing to charge for the service.
I will NEVER use Dish Network...EVER. I will also tell everyone I know that this is not a company to do business with.
Dish network has a litany of problems
Dish network has a litany of problems. In business circles their tactics are unkind, uncaring, unlawful. I had a 30 plus year history with them. Their monthly charges go up without warning. Their reps on the phone are terrible. One time I was talking to, "A closer?" for over an hour. After I moved and notified them well in advance they dunned me for money and sent a box for me, 77 years old to retrieve it from my roof and mail it back. If you agree to auto-pay, you are asking for something you won't like. I say quit today. Find another provider like I did. My experience date is as I recall. I moved on 06-27-2023.

ON 7/28/2023 I called and cancelled my account. This took me over 6 hours to get through to someone to cancel my account. I wanted to pay my final bill and cancellation fees on this call so I didn't have to call back. The representative took my payment. The following day I received an email stating that I owed money. I had to call back and they informed me my payment did not go trough. I paid my final bill again. i asked for a return equipment box to be sent. Weeks went by and I called to find out where my return equipment box is. They said it was never ordered. I gave them my new address again and ordered this again. Dish has since restarted my service and is taking money out of my bank account. i just called again and they informed me their systems is down and they can not assist me. I can't get this company out of my bank account and they have restarted a service that I cancelled on July 28, 2023. this is criminal
Joey limitations
I can receive prime time and YouTube on the tv connected to the hopper but not on the tvs connected to a Joey. I was told that the Joey has limitations and I can cot receive certain services. I am paying for full house service not just the living room. I am seriously thinking of cancelling my dish service because of this limitation.
Misleading, bad customer service, still no resolution almost 2 months later
Was supposed to receive a $300 gift card for switching from direct tv to dish. It’s been almost 2 months and still haven’t received the gift card and have met all requirements and every time I speak with someone they tell me I have to do something else or I have to give them a more days before I can redeem the gift card. Now I have to wait for an email so I have to call again about that. Also was told I would have the same package as with previous service and that has been false I now have less channels and paying more money a month. The whole experience feels like a scam and wish I would have never made the switch!!!
Dish Network had a data breach in May…
Dish Network had a data breach in May 2023. I canceled my service with them in April 2023. I had an auto-pay schedule; however, when I called the customer service representative, the representative said it was canceled. I paid my balance on 5/8/23, and on 5/11/23, auto-pay came out of my account. I have yet to receive my refund. What does my refund have anything to do with their data breach? I’ve called several times and got different answers every time I called. One representative said the payment had been sent back to my bank and to check with my bank. The following representative told me they were backed up on processing refunds. I filed a complaint with the BBB and have not heard from them.
Termination Fees are Expensive
I was a Dish Network user for 12+ years. I became dissatisfied on 6/14/23 after numerous attempts to get my service back working and the issue has not been resolved to date. My first service call was on 5/28/23- I also have insurance with them for service problems. Exactly 4-5 calls later during a period of 2 weeks with on and off service a representative was scheduled to arrive on 6/13/23 ( this was the 4th representative to come out- however, this one DID NOT SHOW or did not call). I have literally spent hours on the phone with them doing all the things they request you do before they will send a representative out and my husband has spent hours coming home from work early to meet someone to work on our service! In total frustration I called today to cancel my service due to dissatisfaction with my service and I was advised not only would I not get any type refund because of no service for approx 14 days but I would also have to pay a termination fee of 280.00 dollars. The termination fee is because I had a new receiver that had to be replaced. I would gladly send it back but this did not matter. The new receiver only worked a total of 3-4 days. This is astounding. DISH NETWORK HAS NO CONCERN FOR THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS MUCH LESS NEW ONES- BEWARE!
Complete lack of Customer SEVICE concepts
If a "zero" rating was possible, that would be my more honest assessment.
Signed up for DISH because of $400 MC "rebate" and my perception DISH network would do more thorough one app searches.
My hopper went down, each and every time I used it, programming searches were more of an encumbrance than streaming, generally ease of use was more difficult. I called and cancelled offering to pay $186 to terminate contract. I immediately returned and received confirmation that all hardware had been received by DISH. Four Customer Service people all read me the same info from their sheets, refusing to either listen to my proposal or negotiate a contract settlement. DISH then proceeded to charge my Credit Card. DISH is NOT the way to go, folks. They have no idea of customer service in 2022. I'll now be spending every chance I get, in the future, to more fully explain my dissatisfaction with DISH, each and every chance i get, until the day I die.

Horrible company and service. Their service is triple the price of others that are better.
Dish Network Misrepresent their service!
I ordered Dish Network satellite services, seeking a better value than cable tv. The first question I asked the representative was, “Can I get local sports channels with Dish tv services?” The answer that the representative gave me was YES. However, it turns out that Dish doesn’t even offer regional sports at all. This is clearly a breach of contract. When I called to get the services canceled, I was told that I would have to pay $480 cancellation fee. I tried to explain to Josh that I thought that it was unfair that I pay that amount since their services was misrepresented to me. To prove it, Dish advises that they record every call when customers order their services. I asked Jordan at x1112064 to review the recording, and he stated that they do not do that! What’s the purpose of the recording then? I would like Dish to reconsider charging me the $480 as they misrepresented their services that caused me to go with them in the first place.
