Do not Enrol at MSBM!

I'm responding to MSBM's Oct 15, 2025 response on my previous review as they are inaccurate, omits several critical facts and misrepresents the core issue.

My complaint has never been about the validity of the OTHM Level 7 Diploma itself. The issue is that MSBM marketed and sold a programme to me in January 2023 as a Level 7 Diploma leading to an MBA top-up with specific partner universities, including Anglia Ruskin University, which I chose. I also switched from an MA HR to an MBA, specifically because they told me that Anglia Ruskin offered the MBA pathway but alas, it turns out, they no longer had a Partnership with Anglia Ruskin, yet kept marketing it.

Your own team later admitted in writing that Anglia Ruskin had been communicated to me “in error,” despite the university appearing on your website at the time I enrolled, and up until 2024 - Why was the school still advertised two years after discontinuation?

Several inconsistencies occurred throughout my programme:

• I completed my Level 7 assignments in November 2023, yet MSBM did not appear to know this until I reached out in January 2024.
• Even after completion, I continued receiving emails asking me to start or attend lectures for the diploma again, which I had already finished - a clear administrative gap.
• I was only registered with OTHM in February 2024, months after completing the coursework, because of this inefficiency.
• Your own General Manager Ms Peace, acknowledged during a call that my case had “dropped through the cracks”

There was also significant confusion regarding my student advisor Salewa. I was initially told that Ms Salewa was on leave, which left me waiting for weeks without guidance on the next stage of the programme. I later discovered through LinkedIn that she had in fact left MSBM.

When I sought clarity on the MBA progression, I was told Anglia Ruskin was no longer available and was offered alternatives including University of Gloucestershire and University of Buckingham. In the interest of resolving the situation amicably, I agreed to proceed with the University of Gloucestershire option. This offer was later withdrawn.

Keep in mind that earlier, MSBM sent me an “unconditional offer letter for Gloucestershire ” that I had never previously received (when I sought clarity on timelines of my study). The start date on that letter predates the conditional offer that was actually sent to me, which was very strange. When I asked them to provide the original email showing the unconditional offer (since they claimed they sent it the year before), they were unable to do so, and then blamed it on Ms Salewa, for not sending it.

Your response also states that I was expelled due to my communications, but also said you're willing to provide academic references for me, which contradicts the claim of serious misconduct. Why would you offer me references if my conduct was severe enough to justify expulsion? This expulsion appears to be a defensive move to subdue me to silence, because I was pushing for fair treatment & clarity.

In addition, I was contacted again afterwards and multiple times (including on whatsapp & emails) by MSBM staff encouraging me to enrol in the same MBA top-up programme that had supposedly been withdrawn - this you later claimed was done in error (one of many other inefficiencies).

During discussions with your management, I was also told that there were concerns I might “cause problems” with partner universities, despite the fact that I never contacted these partners nor OTHM, and my enquiries were simply attempts to understand why the MBA pathway that had been marketed to me was no longer available and what the path forward was.

Finally, your response refers to a “Study Contract” and certain terms. I was NEVER provided with or asked to sign such a contract during my programme, nor was I issued an unconditional offer letter prior, outlining the terms you now rely on.

The programme was invoiced and sold to me as a Level 7 Diploma + MBA pathway, yet after completing the diploma stage, the MBA progression was withdrawn and replaced with a weird partial refund calculation based on terms/exchange rates that were never disclosed at enrolment. Till this day, you still have my money and you need to pay me what is due and fair!

Here are my overall concerns, for every reader to judge fairly and consider if they can trust an organization that does the following:
- Misrepresentation: Advertising universities not actually available.
- Unfair contract terms: Terms added or changed after payment.
- Delayed enrolment and provision of certificate
-Failure to deliver service: MBA pathway not honored.
-Causes financial loss due to cancellation/unjustified expulsion
-Multiple inefficiencies and lack of transparency in communication

I had a wonderful experience studying…

I had a wonderful experience studying at the Metropolitan School of Business and Management. The online platform is user-friendly, and the course content is both engaging and relevant to modern business challenges. The flexibility of studying at my own pace was a huge advantage. The program helped me develop valuable management and leadership skills that I could immediately apply in my professional life. Overall, MSBM delivers strong value for money and a truly international learning experience.

Beware – Do Not Enroll at MSBM! Complete Scam.

Assuming what you are saying is right…
Could you please explain why on your portal there’s a fac-simile of a certificate with your logo and the accreditation boards that is supposed to prove the completion of a course of a student and why I did not receive this certificate upon completion?
2. why did nobody contact me upon completion and I had to chase after you to know how next to proceed just to find out that the course I paid in full for was no longer existing.
3. Why is it that if you claim you sent reminders you did not inform me that the corse I paid for was no longer available?
4. Why is it that if you claim you owe me just 360£ pounds since June 2024 you haven’t been able to refund me back my money?

You are claiming that with 7k€, I paid for recorded lessons and I now need to pay to get a certificate whiles you already changed me for that ? and you also claim not to refund the top us you failed to provide? And this is not a SCAM????
Let me guess… you plan to let me more time pass by so that you can come and tell me that it’s been over 2 years so subtracting xyz you now owe me nothing? Right?
I am honestly disgusted!
Please continue with the honesty and transparency and reply each and every question above. Everybody wasn’t to know!

I deeply regret enrolling in the Risk Management program at MSBM. They are extremely persuasive during the enrollment phase, but once they have your money, the communication and professionalism completely fall apart.

I paid the full amount (€7,000) with the understanding that I would receive a Level 7 diploma and later complete a top-up Master's with a partner university. However, I was never informed that the university they were supposedly partnered with was no longer in collaboration with them. As a result, the top-up did not happen.

I have been left with no diploma, no top-up degree, and no refund. Reaching them has become impossible – they have essentially vanished into thin air.

This experience has been emotionally and financially devastating. I am posting this review to warn others: DO NOT trust MSBM. It’s one of the biggest scams I’ve ever encountered.

While we regret that your experience has not met your expectations, we feel it is important to provide clarity and context to your claims for the benefit of others reading this as we have provided you through various email communications. We usually do not like disclosing information especially financial information of our student on public forums, however, since you have taken your time to explain the partial information, we feel it is fair to provide clear information to our readers.

1. Your Level 7 Diploma

Contrary to your claim of receiving “no diploma,” we must emphasize that your OFQUAL regulated Level 7 Diploma was successfully processed and issued through the awarding body (OTHM), with MSBM directly managing the entire administrative process on your behalf. This diploma is a recognized qualification and was a critical requirement for your progression to the top-up Master’s stage. The ideal duration of this program is between 6-9 months. (Please note that you completed just this aspect in June 2024 since your enrollment in 2021) All the programme durations are clearly outlined in the unconditional offer letter sent to you at the time of enrollment.

2. Top-up Degree Clarification

As we have communicated multiple times via email, the top-up degree could only commence upon completion of your Level 7. Your final submission was in June 2024—almost four years after your original enrollment for a programme with a duration of 12-18 months. During this period, the university partnership landscape did evolve, which is not uncommon in the education sector. That said, alternative top-up options were offered and unfortunately declined by you.

3. Extended Timeline & Grace Period

Your programme was originally designed to be completed in 18 months. Despite an extended period of inactivity, MSBM allowed you to remain on the system and eventually complete your diploma. This was well beyond the typical allowance granted under our policies. No formal cancellation request or refund request was submitted during this extended period.

4. Financial Transparency

You paid a total of GBP 5,850, out of which:

GBP 2,500 covered your Level 7 Diploma (now completed),

GBP 3,250 was allocated for the top-up stage, out of which upon enrollment fees are transferred to third party awarding bodies as non refundable fees for the session.

Your remaining balance was GBP 1560, out of which GBP 1,200 was applied to deferred access fees across two academic years (2023–2024).

After review, we are still prepared to process a partial refund of GBP 360, subject to final internal approvals. This is an exception, given that the standard refund policy prohibits reimbursement once access to resources has been granted and no cancellation has been formally requested.

5. Communication & Support

Our records show that communication was maintained consistently—especially around your final submission and diploma issuance. We continue to remain available and have offered further support should you wish to proceed with the top-up through an alternative route.

Final Note:

We understand your frustration, but we must respectfully clarify that labeling this institution a “scam” is both misleading and unfair. The delays in completion were largely due to the extended time taken on your end, and MSBM has acted within policy—while still extending considerable grace and flexibility.
