When I first started using Monkeytype, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. Typing was always kind of a struggle for me, and I thought I was just stuck being slow forever. At the beginning, I was barely getting over 40 words per minute, and I remember feeling frustrated because it seemed like no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get faster. Then I found Monkeytype, and everything started to change.

Monkeytype gave me a way to practice typing that didn’t feel boring or repetitive. Instead of just random typing drills that I’d seen on other websites, it felt simple but effective. The design is super clean, so there aren’t distractions or a bunch of ads in the way. I could just sit down, focus on the words, and type. Over time, I saw my speed climb little by little. That slow improvement motivated me to keep going. Eventually, I went from just barely scraping 40 WPM all the way to 90 WPM. That’s more than double my original speed, and it’s something I never thought I could do.

What makes me proud is not just the number, but how much it’s helped me in real life. At school, I’m constantly using a computer for essays, projects, and even just classwork. Before, typing essays felt like such a chore because I would get stuck typing too slowly, and I’d lose focus or fall behind. Now, thanks to Monkeytype, I can type almost as fast as I think. It makes writing essays way easier because I’m not stuck staring at the keyboard or pausing every few seconds to fix mistakes. Even in other areas, like when I’m doing research online, chatting, or working on assignments that require a lot of typing, I feel way more confident and efficient.

Another thing I like about Monkeytype is that it doesn’t just improve speed, it also makes me more accurate and consistent. The stats it gives after every test really show where I’m doing well and what I still need to work on. I’ve noticed that my accuracy has gone up along with my speed, which is a big deal, because typing faster doesn’t mean much if you’re constantly fixing errors. Monkeytype balances both, and I feel like that’s why it works so well.

Overall, I’m really proud of the progress I’ve made with Monkeytype. It’s not just some typing game I do for fun, it’s actually a tool that has made a difference in my schoolwork and my confidence with computers in general. Going from 40 to 90 WPM is something I’ll always remember because it shows me that practice really does pay off, and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Monkeytype.

I found this a very usefull tool for improving my typing skills. I use it a lot and it tells me a lot about my typing.

MonkeyType is simply the best typing website ever.
I've tried more than 10, MonkeyType is the king.
The UI is very good. The stats are very good, you find stats about every second in each typing test. The leaderboard is updated instantly. There are so many modes and so many languages (if not all languages). The website works offline. And so many more beautiful things about this website.
The only problem is that every time I open it offline, I get logged out when the internet is restored, which is very annoying, except that it's perfect.

Practiced and practiced using this tool! I went from a PR of 65wpm to 84wpm with this tool!
Super customizable which is great!

Monkeytype helped me type much better than I used to be able to. Monkey type is also very simple and very cool in the first place.
