A great experience
A great experience, this platform deserves it's name; they made me assume the word 'free' before their name whenever I use their platform.
i found best designer in town here
Minds looked promising when it launched…
Minds looked promising when it launched but after they made changes with chat to put it in a separate site, forcing the user to create 2 accounts in order to use a social media that has been split into two, they lost users.
It's not very active now, and in order to make money, they delete the videos we post after a month of posting them, forcing us to pay an upgrade in order to keep them on our profile!
Not so smart!
This is an excellent app for creating…
This is an excellent app for creating material and collecting money. Unlike many apps, this app offers a great incentive to post interesting knowledge-based material from all genres. Immigrated from FB and X as their platforms are full of bots and bot security scrapers that read all your data. So if privacy is a key component of your material, Minds is an excellent choice.
A right wing cesspit full of childish attitudes.
It's a right wing cesspit, no one has a clue about anything and they get triggered by the slightest deviation from biblical scripture. Best avoided, if you went there from Reddit, turn around now and GTFO.
Cool app
I like this app. Not sure where all the hating reviews are from but they seem like there is more to the haters than just leaving a review. It's good to have many options for people. And given the popularity of minds with many people it shows that it's working. Only having a few options is unhealthy for society and its important to have a large variety to be able to hear many voices that make up the world. There are a couple large tech companies that have a monopoly on things and don't have the best interest of the general public. Minds is a decent alternatives.
4+ years user.
I signed up to Minds in 2019. I use it daily. A major plus is that it's open-source. It's a social networking service that's a decent Twitter alternative. The downside is that at present, there's not many people there that I follow on Twitter.
Disgusting "Social Media" Website
If I could give this "social media" website no stars I would do it.
Minds claims to be a freedom of speech site and it is, but only if you're male, extreme right wing, and insane.
Any other point of view will cause you to be harassed, mass down voted, and called filthy names.
Reporting the abuse is useless and the offenders are allowed to do anything they want.
Horrible site that should be put out of business.
The Minds.com's Employees falsely banned me, STOLE my crypto and I can't access my MetaMask account number.
Hello government officials and all whom it may concern at your government officials' offices. I am writing this review in order to file a Criminal Complaint with you and with your government officials' offices against a cryptocurrency social media platform (website) called Minds.com. I joined Minds.com in April 2018. Why? Because the CEO and Co-founder of Minds.com named Bill Ottman said that Minds.com is a Free Speech social media platform. Bill Ottman also said that Minds.com will pay their users cryptocurrency when their users do certain activities on Minds.com.
You and your government officials' offices can watch videos of Bill Ottman talking about how Minds.com is a Free Speech social media platform and about how Minds.com pays their users in cryptocurrency on YouTube. My Minds.com Page a.k.a. Minds.com Account is called FascinatingVision. The Minds.com's Employees has falsely banned me and have STOLEN the cryptocurrency that they paid me for doing certain activities on Minds.com.
The CEO and Co-founder Bill Ottman and the other Minds.com's Employees named Nicholas Lewis a.k.a. Nick, Michael Bobman and etc. has falsely banned me and STOLE my crypto. I tried to login to my Minds.com Page on September 25, 2022 whereby I found out that I was falsely banned from Minds.com. I then e-mailed the Minds.com's Employees four times. In the e-mail conversions that I had with Michael Bobman and etc.. I was told by the Minds.com's Employee named Michael Bobman that all the Minds.com's Employees are allowed to STEAL cryptocurrency based on what is written in the Minds.com's terms of service which was changed at least back in 2019 after I joined Minds.com in 2018.
You and your government officials' offices can read my e-mail conversions with the Minds.com's Employees on the Gab social media platform (website). Minds.com is a social media platform which is similar in design to Facebook.
The form of relief I am seeking is I want my Minds.com's Page called FascinatingVision Page to be reinstated so that I can have access to my cryptocurrency that the Minds.com's Employees paid me for doing certain activities on their Minds.com website. I want my FascinatingVision Page to also be reinstated so that I can have access to my crypto wallet which I have with MetaMask. I don't know my account number with MetaMask because my MetaMask Account is connected to the Minds.com website. I also want the Minds.com's Employees to transfer the over 105 cryptocurrencies that the Minds.com's Employees paid me into my account with MetaMask. The Minds.com's Employees should pay the gas price that it cost to transfer my over 105 cryptocurrencies into my MetaMask Account.
The Minds.com's Employees have indeed STOLEN my cryptocurrency and etc.. Michael Bobman said "us having "stolen" your crypto: we are under no obligation to refund you, per our terms of service". Michael Bobman and I both know that Minds.com allows their users to transfer their cryptocurrency that they earn from Minds.com into a crypto wallet such as Coinbase, MetaMask and other crypto wallets. I never transfer my earned cryptocurrency from Minds.com into a crypto wallet. The Minds.com's Employees said that their Minds.com users will be able to take their earned cryptocurrency(ies) from Minds.com with them if they get banned from Minds.com.
Therefore, I am filing this Criminal Complaint with you and your government officials' offices against the Minds.com's Employees for false spam banned, theft and I can't access my MetaMask Account number. Why? Because the Minds.com's Employees don't want to reinstate my falsely banned Minds.com Page called FascinatingVision. It is sad that I have to file this Criminal Complaint because I do love Minds.com even though I was hard on the Minds.com's Employees when the Minds.com's Employees did something stupid such as the (edited) feature and my now false banned.
The Minds.com's mailing address is Minds.com - P.O. Box 7681 - Wilton, CT 06897.
I tell you and recommend you not to use…
I tell you and recommend you not to use this platform. You get banned for no reason. They are not serious.
I'm only leaving a REVIEW today because…
I'm only leaving a REVIEW today because i was banned last night for "INAUTHENTIC ENGADGEMENT"
what ever that means,
something to do with spam.
first off tokens don't really matter to me i got a PLUS account because i wanted to be verified and have ONLY one account, i am aware of bot spamming also not a fan of my user name being @ in peoples posts who are saying they are Flagging bots.
That isn't cool in my book, they call that Brigading and i'm not even a "click group" person i stick to my own opinions and interact with whoever shares opinions
i'm active VERY active cos i use it as a way to avoid making real friends
i've already bought 2 years worth of Plus so i'm paying IN and geting treated like a bot?
like guys you really gotta fix the flagging system bots are gonna flag real users off the platform and thats your REAL inauthentic Engagement.
I have appealed i will up my star to 4 if it gets over turned or 1 if it gets ignored. like losing 200+ minds tokens meh what ever like all i want is to have my opinions heard and the risk of an out right ban with no real reason,
guy guys are being really dodgey and know some of us can't take you to court over it,
remember, DON'T do on to others that which you wouldn't have done on to yourself.
we're not just USERNAMES and WALLS of text some of us are REAL flesh n blood humans and it's getting harder to be anything more than just CODE at this point cos reality is trying to turn real humans in to data and data in to real humans.
This was so hard for me…
I spoke to mind This was so hard for me receptionist after doctors who put phone down on me. Receptionist at mind was phenomenal The minds receptionist made me laugh (I had not laughed like that for a wee while) Then I got my phone call (this was hard for me as a teacher of health and social welfare and 37 years working in it ) To admit my I had mental health was hard perhaps I had empathised with patients to much, this did not match my body my mind said get up even in pain, my body said you cant move. I for the first time contacted mind I don't know if I can name names The receptionist made me laugh nicely The guy who called me for my first appointment respected me although had only 23 minutes to say my trauma lol I get that working in field However thank you my wee receptionist Thank you James Who knows were I will end up but thank you
It's fun and easy to use and its not…
It's fun and easy to use and its not part of big tech
Ive been on Minds since about 2015
Minds is awesome, far better than fb insta or twitface.
99.9% no censorship ( the .1% is likely kiddy porn or some crap, so win win ).
Lately the scammers and bot networks have been being decimated by users to a large extent and also by site operators, which is awesome. ( they're the ones leaving all the one star reviews LMAO ).
Join Minds, you'll love it.
I can post my art without getting banned
I can post my art without getting banned or silenced, Twitter suspended me and free speech sites automatically delete my art
A good place for small creators
A good place for small creators to build an audience. You won't be enslaved to some algorithm to get noticed, since the crypto rewards double as an advertising feature. Just follow some bigger accounts, leave some comments, and, if you have anything remotely interesting to say, you'll pull in a few tokens here and there, which you can use to boost your own posts.
You also don't need to worry about getting banned for trivial garbage or having the "wrong" opinions. Bans are usually reserved for bots and spammers who try to abuse the crypto rewards. They're probably the ones leaving all the bad reviews too.
The dev team is pretty aloof though, so updates are usually slow and often break the site temporarily. You'll know there's been an update when notifications stop working.
Good site
Good site. Don't have to worry about getting banned for petty stuff and the community is good too. Crypto rewards for engagement are cool but it has attracted a lot of spammers who get irate when you call them out and they get banned for trying to game the system.
Great platform. More people need to use it
I've used Minds for about two years. I've increased my use as I've found that a platform for free speech is necessary in a world of censoring, canceling, deplatforming, shadow banning, and suspension.
They use crypto? Who cares!
Use the site to speak your mind.
If people don't like your views they don't have to read them. Freedom is beautiful. Thankyou Minds. Wish more people used the site.
A great site in progress
Its got alot of rough edges, but its as close to a truly free speech social media as you are gonna get. Has some serious potential if the devs can get their butts in gear and fix a few of the problems.
Decent social media site that features free speech and crypto rewards (if you're not a spammer)
I've been here about 17 months. In brief, it's a well-intentioned social media site that promises free speech and crypto rewards, and it delivers, mostly.
Pros:
• You can indeed post almost anything you want.
• The site does reward you for posting content, and those rewards can be converted into crypto.
• The site is straightforward in terms of building a following and you won't get held back by an algorithm that favors larger accounts. I gained over 2,000 followers on a new account in under 6 months.
• Some features are better than other major social media sites: editing posts is great, scheduling posts has a good interface, there's no character limit on posts, and promoting ("boosting") posts is fast and free.
Cons:
• Converting your rewards into crypto goes through a wasteful and convoluted process that will cost you upward of $90-120 and take 1-72 hours, and sometimes you have to remind site staff to get it at all (but if you're not spamming you WILL get it, and it's ultimately free money).
• If you are a spammer they will indeed keep any fees you pay and kick you out, but frankly you deserve that because your "rewards" came from the pockets of authentic users.
• Because the site gives rewards, there are a lot of spammers trying to exploit the system—posting random images they found on google, leaving garbage comments, and creating tons of accounts to engage with themselves (say "hi" to Sinhala and the other nigerian spammers here in the 1-star reviews).
• The site is poorly polished and many features are bugged or flawed in noticeable ways.
• The site lacks some obvious and important features present in every other social media site (multi-image posting, polls, sharing comments, etc.)
• Site improvements are few and far between, and development seems to prioritize new features no one asked for over fixing or adding features most users feel are important.
• Leadership seems aloof, there's no clear direction for what the site wants to become, and transparency/communication with staff is poor—they do hold semiannual "town hall" meetings, but the response to everything is "good idea we'll work on that" with no difference in results.
• Owners completely disregard the value of their official crypto token (MINDS) and make no effort to manage it monetarily or address investors' concerns. This is on top of the volatility of its base coin (Ethereum) and has caused the value to fluctuate anywhere from $4.00 to $0.20, lately on the lower end.
• Many users are on Minds because they were banned from other social media platforms, which means a higher percent of users are dregs of society (actual schizos, edgy teens and 20-somethings, etc.)
• The app has a poor UI and censors a lot of content (though the latter is Apple & Google's fault).
In conclusion:
Most of the site's flaws are related to features that are both unique to it and completely optional, so it's not like the myriad of issues surrounding the MINDS token detracts from its functionality as a social media site. The score is low because spammers are big mad and come here to cry about it, apparently. If you can look past the leadership squandering its potential and mismanaging their token, and don't expect anything to improve, it's still a functional social media site that is much more free—and easier to succeed on—than most.
