Being lactose intolerant used to mean giving up milk, dairy foods and the important nutrients, minerals and vitamins they provide. The Milkaid range of products contain lactase enzyme, a safe natural enzyme that is usually found in the digestive system. It works by breaking down the complex milk sugar lactose, into two more easily digestible sugars – glucose and galactose. The Milkaid range has undergone a new and improved formulation because of customer feedback on the taste of our products. While being an extremely popular product with our customers we had received feedback that the taste of the tablets was too sweet, particularly if taken before a savoury meal. We value all customer feedback and wanted to address this issue in order to improve the customer experience.
Our products still come in the signature Raspberry (Milkaid Tablet) and Strawberry (Milkaid Junior) flavours. Whilst there will not be noticeable differences to the size, colour or shape of the tablet, consumers may notice an improvement to the taste and sweetness level of the tablet.
There are no changes to the nutritional information, and still remains as Lactase Enzyme 3000 ALU per tablet. Our tablets are also dairy free and suitable for vegans.
Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol which has about 60% of the sweetness of regular sugar and has a lower glycaemic index compared to glucose, meaning it has a slower impact on blood sugar levels. It is often used in diabetic-friendly products and in oral care products due to its ability to help prevent tooth decay.

New Formula - horrendous chemical smell and taste
I completely agree with all the other negative reviews of the New Formula - as soon as I opened the bottle I could smell this awful chemical smell, I tried one and spat it out - I got a refund from Holland and Barratt - poor them, I hope they got a refund from you. You would not grant me a refund. I used to have these for years and they had a lovely taste and smell when you smelt the open bottle, a bit hard to chew but ok, now they are inedible, I am so glad there are other people who think the same! Hope you can bring back the old formula! Name - Mary Bluett Ashby but NOT p.p. Mrs J White as on the heading on next page!!

My wife loved the original tablets and thought that they were the best product she had ever tried. However, in common with other reviews here, she dislikes the taste of the new formulation intensely and has now stopped taking them. I also have concerns regarding the use of sorbitol rather than glucose. I hope that Milkaid listen to customers concerns and bring back the original formula. Perhaps both could be produced, thereby giving customers a choice.

So Disappointing for a very loyal customer.
I have had Dairy Intolerance for many years now and have always managed to control the severe Stomach Cramps, Sickness and running the Toilet. Firstly I used Holland and Barretts tablets until they changed the Formula, then my symptoms returned and I chose Milkaid. I have used Milkaid for a good number of years and they had worked fine. Now I am sitting here writing this review in agony with Stomach Cramps and running the Toilet as I have used up my supply of Milkaid (old formula) and have been using the new formula ones for the last week. This is the second time in a week my symptoms have returned and will sadly now have to stop using them and find yet another alternative.
Why change the ingredients on something that has worked with people for years? You must have studied the effect that Sorbitol can have on people and yet you have still put it in the New Formula? Why?
I will now have to find another Tablet to use, which is a pity because I am sure you will have lost a few loyal customers with this new formula because even if you did return to the old formula those customers will have already gone and found an alternative. Why change things that work?

Купила недавно впервые таблетки Milkaid , запах очень резкий и сладкий вкус не совсем подходят перед приемом соленной пищи , но это мелочи. Я выпила 1 таблетку Milkaid и через пару часов после приема , у меня началась крапивница и было тяжело дышать. Реньше я использовала фермент Лактаза других производителей и все было хорошо. Я не аллергик , со мной такое впервые . Будьте осторожны , может быть аллергия на препарат

It was easy to order and pay online
It was easy to order and pay online. The drops were delivered quickly( from Ireland to England I believe) and were in a plastic envelope. This stopped them getting soggy from adverse weather, but the boxes were a bit bashed. However the small bottles are sturdy and were fine, seals intact and good dates on them. They work by turning the lactose into an easier to digest form and thevmilk may be a little sweeter, but over a litre it isnt an issue.
Currently I'd be happy to order again

Original formula was far superior …
While these tablets work the formula has recently been changed and the taste is horrible. The previous formula was much better and they tasted great. Please listen to your reviews and revert back to the original formula.

Scam company, no customer service
As a long-term user of Milkaid, which I buy from Holland and Barrett, the 'new improved formula' is AWFUL:
* Artificial taste with a nasty aftertaste that won't go away
* The tablets break up badly in my mouth and get stuck in my teeth
* Have had cramping and bloating more often with the new formula
The company says it changed its formula due to feedback from consumers... Mmmmmm, the new tablets seem to be a lot smaller so I believe it was more about reducing costs.
I took time to email my feedback to Milkaid and have had ZERO response from them. They clearly don't care and I will now be using an alternative.

My partner ordered these from Amazon for me as I had run out, I have been using them for years and they work a treat for when I want to eat dairy. I honestly thought he had ordered them from a fake account or website - the tablets are now smaller and taste really different from before (and not in a good way). Don’t change something that is fine as it is please! Bring back the old formula.
