I invested in Spacex through MicroVentures more than 6 years ago, but I am not a happy customer when it is having a huge IPO. Why?

The fund I invested in was sold years ago—right when the company's valuation started to take off. As a result, I missed out on much of the upside. And I think the fund was sold at far lower than the market value. I don’t know exactly who captured most of the profits, but it certainly wasn’t me as an early investor who took on the initial risk.

To be fair, the investment documents does state the fund could be sold at any time. However, in practice, this creates a situation where fund managers or intermediaries can exit early—potentially capturing gains—while investors lose exposure to future growth.

If you’re considering investing through MicroVentures, make sure you fully understand the terms. Be prepared for the possibility that your investment could be sold without your control, even if the company’s long-term prospects look very strong.

The founder of MicroVentures reached out, which I appreciate (and is why I’m giving two stars). That said, it doesn’t change my concerns about the underlying issues with this type of investment. In my experience, broad public market investing has delivered better returns.

I’m open to being proven wrong. But until I see a meaningful number of investors on the platform achieving 30x, 50x, or 70x returns from SpaceX, I remain skeptical.

I have been an investor with MicroVentures for many years. I like that they have given me access to companies like SpaceX.

I'm certain regulatory or judicial action will be taken against Microventures and other platforms like it in the near future. Branded as a way for non-accredited investors to get in on the action, it turned out to just be another ruse to turn such investors into suckers. I was a Microsalt investor; that situation alone is all you need to know. Ever seen the movie Boiler Room?

I invested in Jetson AI of Peter Peng (CEO) and Fong Mui (COO) back in 2019. This company went out of business in 2020. There was no alert from MicroVentures so I ended up just aware of it now. On the MicroVentures website were many accolades of this company doing well. I don't see how you can have a company like this tanking in such a short period of time. It reeks of a scam perpetuated by the business and promoted by MicroVentures.
My advice is not to buy on MicroVentures. They will not give you adequate diligence.

Super Bummed about Microventures and want to share so other don't make the same mistake.
MV sells equity securities marketed as IPO accessabilty.
Sometimes, i bet more then not, these securities are committed to a highly inflated IPO estimate stock price. MV charges large fees as well as additional fees on any proceeds in case your investment has a positive return. Either way they either make their money on the fees or take both the fees and then an additional commission on any profits. Legal but highly dubious. It's entirley my fault for trusting them and I should have trusted my gut. RUN AWAY

I wish I would have read this thread before I made the investments..true scam it is! Take your money and then word games galore and you never see 1 penny in return! Now newest scan is MV saying you can't get Microsalt liquidity.

Biggest scam of 21st century. No one has ever seen a cent back from Microventures. Stay away.

I "invested" in 2019 and have yet to see a single cent in return. The updates never address when we are likely to receive a return because I doubt we ever will. This is NOT an investment, it is a donation. The wording of the fine print is such that there is ZERO obligation towards any of the so-called investors and MicroVentures has no interest in helping investors recoup their investment. Now MV are adding a 'maintenance fee' to their funding accounts so if you have any spare funds they will dock it by $5 a month. If you want to withdraw any funds though, they charge $50. HUGE HUGE SCAM! If you really want to invest in a small business, look in your local area and make a direct investment contract as a proper shareholder because these 'micro-funding' sites are a complete scam and should be illegal.

All, please avoid using MV. I have invested in a company Arbit. $200 usd. After 3 years i was told this was liquidated and was supposed to get $23% of my investment back despite being safe and guaranteed. I tried to get the $47 (23%) paid to my account, and MV charges me $50 for the transaction, meaning that i lost all the money, while MV charges you $50 for a simple $47 transfer fee. This is Theft and MV are thieves not say say fraud/scam!.

I'm one of the suckers who invested in Legion M's horror movie "The Field Guide to Evil" via Microventures. Four years after its release, I've yet to receive any financial updates on the movie, much less any money. I've been in touch with Microventures who keeps stonewalling me. Avoid at all cost!

When it comes to getting your money out of the account, they make it as close to impossible as possible. A month in I'm still working on getting it back, and nearly half of it is gone due to all the various fees they add. Very unclear information on the website, and they did not give me the information necessary even when personally requesting the refund and having various back and forths with them. Either it's a very poorly run organisation or a conscious scam.

Scam. Microventures promises investments can be cancelled. The website even has a investment cancellation button. However, The website cancellation button does not do anything, but ask you to send a email. Emails to Microventures results in many promises of cancellation, but the order is never cancelled. I had to initate a credit card dispute to get things corrected...

Most likley a scam service..
