In thirty years of subbing printing I have never been asked to unwrap and sort through a job myself that had been collated wrongly and randomly packed. I had to chase, delivering the job a week late waiting to have it rectified and still got wrongly collated samples sent to me??

Really good service and quality. However our old supplier use to proof our artwork free of charge before printing. Whereas with micro press its an additional charge.

This was our first time using Micropress for our printing needs. We had a lot of brochures that required printing to a tight time schedule and Kelli and her team went above and beyond to help us in anyway they could. Micropress was an absolute pleasure to work with and will be our go to for printing in the future.
Today I received my first copies of some children’s stories that I’ve written. This is the first time I’ve ever published anything and a friend introduced me to Micropress. A friend, Emma Gibson, had drawn some fabulous pictures to go with the stories which brought them to life.
As I’m a complete novice, I was reliant on the advice of the professionals, in my case, Hannah and Anna at Micropress. They were both incredibly helpful giving me great advice and the finished product is beyond my wildest dreams, the books are absolutely stunning, many thanks to Micropress for all their help in creating brilliant books from my stories. I opted for Micropress to print the magazine I publish due to their initial friendly service and good prices. Unfortunately I won't be using them again.
Almost 20% of my order (188 of the 1000 magazines) were completely unsaleable. The print veering off the edge of the paper, cutting off page numbers on some and leaving the CMYK printer marks and white space on others. On several copies the cover was so uncentred that the spine had only half the text, while the other half was on the back.
It took me four hours to go through each copy to pull out the duds. After emailing them with photos/videos and waiting a few days for a proper discussion (I missed the 5.29pm phone call on the Friday) we had a long conversation and I was given quite the variety of excuses.
What really irked me was being told I had made the job difficult by using borders in the design. (As a print shop if you can't print/cut parallel to borders, you shouldn't be in business.) Then as an initial remedy they suggested I send the misprinted copies back to be recut - which was a ludicrous idea as it would make those issues a different sizing and also cut off the pages that were printed correctly.
Then they initially tried to get me to pay for all the copies, then offered paltry discount. Luckily I hadn't yet received an invoice so I refused to pay in full. Eventually they charged me for 850/1000, accounting for the 30 extra that were sent. (These are usually sent to cover any copies that are naturally knocked/blemished, of which there were also quite a few). I didn't really want to take it further and have any more drawn out discussions with ridiculous solutions so I agreed.
I should also mention that the first print I did with Micropress didn't go particularly smoothly, both in terms of finish and communication, but I accepted the narrative that this was partially me being a newbie to producing a large scale print product.
As a small business with three major prints per year (this is my primary product) it is really disheartening to have issues like this occur which are completely beyond my control, not least with a professional company. If I had sent my magazines directly to a distributor I would be very embarrassed, and refunding customers and apologising left right and centre.
Anyone who works hard on their products puts a lot of trust in their manufacturer. To me this is a significant amount of my budget, but to them a small loss of profit (I'm sure they were making back base costs). Clearly it was just another quick sale/job.
I feel very let down by Micropress. I understand accidents happen in the best of businesses, but to do anything other than apologise for the mistake and offer a solution that works for the customer is just inconsiderate to their customers. To blame your customer for faulty manufacturing is ridiculous.
Great service and pricing, the new dashboard makes tracking jobs as easy as tracking your Dominos order!

As a business it is vital to have a network of reliable and quality suppliers you can trust to provide a product or service not only on time but at the very least to an agreed quality. More often than not you come to understand that some attributes have to be sacrificed for others, however with Micropress, time and time again this has proven not to be the case.
Don't ask me how we managed without them for so many years because honestly it makes me shudder.
When I ask for a quote from Micropress I get it quickly, when I ask for an amendment I get it quickly. When I place an order with an agreed timescale I get it 99% of the time before it's required but never late (to date).
Combine this with an extremely high degree of professionalism, competency and excellent customer service and you will find yourself writing a review similar to this.
This is the one supplier our purchaser doesn't need to deal with as it is so easy, and as a graphic designer myself, I appreciate the support in achieving the final polished product. Thanks for everything guys, long may it continue!

There was some initial confusion as was not familiar with the new online system.
Once I had understood this, the process was very quick and efficient.

Having used Micropress for over 15 years, at each of the companies I've been with, nothing requested is ever a bother. The quality of communication, print and finishing, the advice given, and especially their patience when the quoting process isn't straight forward due to constant changes in page count is just brilliant. Whether you need a digital or litho printer you cannot go wrong with making the decision to use them.
