Michaelharper is totally a scam. A recruiter called me and offered a role. First pre-screening interview had done. He showed me role which is posted on their website, starting date and everything. I was satisfied.

Then he asked me to do Financial certifications to get this job. But he did not refer me to actual compnay. I bought £980 worth of certification which is related to Finance advisory. I asked many time but he didn't reply or sometime he said company will contact me when i complete course. I completed that course and finally asked him after 4 months of wait, he said company will not hiring me this year. It is a totally scam.

Like, my money and time was wasted. They build trust and answers to your question but not give you clarity.

Later on, when i tried to search them, they don't have any physical address.

This is a proper organised scam. They will call you saying they got your cv after you applied. However its a lie and desperate job seekers dont go and check back if they actually did. Then they will take a pre screening interview with you. they will ask random questions and at the end they will say that they were impressed with your performence but you lack professional qualifications and will ask you to sign up for one through a third party website. They wont disclose which company they are recruiting for and really push you for buying that course. They will reply to your emails as long as the cancellation and refund period is still there for the course and when it crosses, they will start ghosting you. They say they dont take money from the candidates but clearly they get money from the third party course provider. They clearly dont have any online presence and scamming desperate job seekers for money. My interviewer name was Luis Rossi but I am sure that is fake as well along with all this five star reviews on trustpilot. BEWARE

Scam all the 5* reviews are fake they just want you to pay for a course. Avoid!!

Got contacted by Michael Harper UK about a finance and investment role, thought it was a proper job interview but turns out it was all fake. They told me I was perfect for the role then out of nowhere said I needed a qualification to get it – and surprise surprise, they just happen to sell it themselves.

The catch is it’s a useless qualification that isn’t even recognised by any real finance firms. It’s not needed for investment roles either. Total scam to get money out of desperate job seekers.

They reel you in with fake opportunities then try and flog you a course. Absolute joke of a company, nothing but scammers dressed up as recruiters. Don’t fall for it.

I fell victim to this scam and I want to warn others before they do too. They are very professional and convincing. They tricked me into believing there was a real job opportunity in finance and investment, but in reality, it was all a setup to make me buy a fake course.

It started with a call from a lady inviting me to a "pre-screening interview" for a job I didn’t recall applying for. Since I had applied for several jobs recently, I thought maybe I had just forgotten. The call lasted quite a while, with questions about my experience and knowledge in finance and investment. At the end, the person told me I was an ideal candidate but said the only issue was that I lacked the necessary certifications. He claimed that the company's AI system would reject my CV without a certification, and directed me to a website to purchase a course.

When I checked the site, it looked suspicious, but he assured me it was verified by CPD (which I later found out was fake). I read the reviews on their website but didn’t think to check social media or TrustPilot a mistake I regret. I ended up making a part payment.

Soon after, the same person sent me an email that looked like a forwarded template with just my name filled in that's when I realised I had been scammed. I checked online and found no real reviews or posts about “Michael Harper UK” everything was fake.

I reported the incident to my bank, but they said they couldn’t reverse the payment because it was authorised by me. I also requested a refund directly from them, but of course, I got no response.

Please be careful, don’t fall for this scam like I did. Always do thorough research outside of their own website before making any payments!

SCAM.
Beware - they do a pre - interview and request for you to purchase a £400 course before they put your application through.
Complete waste of time and try to pressure you into booking the fake course.
All positive reviews are also fake and have been written by the scammers.

They are fake recruitment agency. They set you up with an interview which they call a “pre-interview” and then proceed to have you spend 45 minutes answering their random questions for a job application and then they say only issue is a certificate which they want YOU to purchase but even if you purchase there are no guarantee for the job?? like its so suspicious and fake. Waste of time

I received an unsolicited email and two calls from “Michael Harper UK” to schedule a screening interview, despite never applying to any job through them. Their approach seemed suspicious, and a recent Trustpilot review (dated 15 April 2025) confirmed this is part of a well-organized scam.

🔴 They reportedly conduct fake interviews and then pressure candidates to buy a certificate/course costing over £1000, claiming it's a requirement from the “employer.”

🔴 The address listed is a virtual office (not a real company location)

Please be cautious. Do not share personal or financial details, and avoid engaging further if contacted.

Micheal Harper is a SCAM and a FAKE company and I will explain how.

The address is FAKE, it is an virtual address which costs only about £25 for the year , just search the address on google and you will quickly discover it is a fake address.

The company does a thorough and professional FAKE interview, then after the interview says you are a good match however the employer requires you buy a course for over £1000. There is clear and obvious collusion.

Firstly the company claimed to have many thousands of success stories just a week after it was registered on companies house and 1 month after the claimed the domain. The testimonies shown on the website are fake , and the images are fake , if you screen shot and put in reverse image search you can easily find out that the people are stock images.

This scam seems to be an extension of Smart 1 Recruitment who is directed by " Mike John Harper", who according to companies house is born in April 1975, This new agency he has slightly adjusted the name , and changed it to May 1975. Remember companies house doesn't check identities when companies are registered. After calling Smart 1 Recruitment and asking them if they are the same company as Micheal Harper Uk they reluctantly confirmed it.

Last and not least , you get ghosted straight after. There is no job , there are no employers of the organisation either nothing it is all fake and trying to pry on graduates who could be desperate for a job.

Its not a recruitment agency. Its a company that sells you certificates by questionable means. First, they emailed me to set a pre-screening interview. When you decide the interview timing, they will take your interview and say you're almost there but you're missing one thing - a certificate (something they've a tie up with) and ask you to BUY THE CERTIFICATE for approx. £1000 to send your CV to an UNDISCLOSED COMPANY.
Just wasting people's time. If they really wanted, they could have started the interview with this "buy our certificate" instead of wasting 45 min on a fake interview.

This is a scam, beware.

I was contacted for a pre-screening interview and was told to pay £600 for a specific finance course through the site they mentioned in order to get recruited through them.

Red Flags:
1. Asked to pay for the course
2. Wanted me to pay asap before 4:30 PM
3. Didnt tell the name of the company they were recruiting for.
4. Newly registered recruitment company.
5. Their account is overdue on companies house
6. Almost zero social media presence

This felt exploitative and not in line with genuine recruitment practices.

Might be a scam

I had very strange experience, I was interviewed and never told the name of the company all I heard was In order to fully qualify for role I need to enrol on financial regulations course which is costly. In my experience of job search I have never heard of that so I don’t know

Might be a scam, although unconfirmed. Highlighted the need for certification in Financial Regulation. He wasn't very pushy on getting any particular one though which was bazar. The company website was only created a month ago and they only have 5 reviews here (one of which is hidden by MichaelHarper) which made me suspicious and I decided not to continue with them. If it is a scam though, it's a really good one - nearly fooled me during the conversation, very professional. It was a position I think I never applied to (although I did submit a lot of applications).

Very strange, feels like a scam but still asked interview questions. Said the company that is hiring have NDAs so they aren't allowed to tell me the name of the company until I am approved. They didn't ask me to pay for a certification but hinted at having CFA level 1 will boost chances of approval. Not keeping my hopes up at all but will see how it pans out.

Pure Scam

No names from company or website appear anywhere on LinkedIn or Google.
Says they have years of experience yet the company’s domain was registered a month ago ahaha. Stay clear !
