It is like giving them money for free😂😂. When i stared buying 6 months ago I've paid 350, even though gold value has gone up by 20 pounds since started, my scarp value now is 296. Not a smart investment. Im still at 54 pounds loss. And when questioned their answer is very difficult to understand.
I would say i was silly to make investment.

That's why its called the scrap value. When buying physical gold, it has to be manufactured and mined out of the ground, this process costs money.
Therefore when buying physical gold it will be at a premium and is meant to be held as a long term investment. And on the amounts you are buying we are the most competitive in the market.
On our app we clearly say you are buying gold fractionally, in order to build up to a full gold bar. Which if you buy from anywhere, comes at a premium and WILL be scrapped at a lower price if you choose to immediately sell it.
had you read the information in app, this explains this fully, and we tell you when buying how many grams you get in exchange for your money.

Secondly, physical gold comes at a premium as it has to be manufactured and mined out of the ground, which lo and behold, costs money 😄

Please do not sign up with this company it's completely fraudulent and a Scam you buy gold for £200 on the app and when you go to sell the gold on the same app you get £150 when asked the founder gives you a shittiy answer and you cannot cancel your account with them so please don't fall into this trap i have filled fraud with my bank against this company

And need I say more, you couldn't even control your language in a public review on the internet.
In fact what's hilarious is we gave you a full refund, and then you filed for a chargeback, which we then won.
So I think it's pretty cute to be calling us Fraudulent Lesley when your own bank sided with us on that transaction, and admitted that WE were the victims of chargeback fraud from you.
Simply put, physical gold costs money over the market rate, as mining and manufacturing physical gold costs money.

Not very competitive
Not very competitive, compared with their peers. You can easily purchase the latest sovereign for £30 cheaper, and a 50g bar for £175 less. The idea of setting up a monthly payment plan (they earn interest on your money), and when you have enough saved, they will send you a coin/bar, is sound in principle, but why bother. Pay your “subscription” into a savings account, and when you have enough saved, shop around.
I understand the spread on gold, my usual gold broker, charges 5.75% between the buying and selling price. Having recently invested £50, and now waiting on a refund of £34.98, that equates to a spread of 30%.

Hey Paul, thanks for your review. Firstly we do not earn interest on your money, we actually sell you physical gold and vault it in fully insured vaults.
Secondly, we are competitive among peers so not sure how you came to your conclusion, especially when you take into account that we offer free storage and insurance on our platform no matter how much gold you have with us.
The beauty of the Metfolio app is that you can incrementally buy fractions in physical gold which actually saves you against the rise in gold price in this current climate. As had people enlisted your genius strategy of leaving it in a savings account (advice which is pretty insensitive to those, who for faith and personal reasons don't deal with interest related products), the bank pays you 5% interest, whereas gold is up over 40%. With Metfolio, you are safeguarded against that.
Yes physical gold comes at a premium, as it is real gold which needs to be manufactured and mined. 5.75% is what your broker is giving you on paper gold which isn't real anyway and is worthless during economic crises.

I bought £50 worth of gold using this companies app. I held it for just over a week and when I decided that it may be risky investing with this company due to the negative reviews I read here. I decided to close the account. I contacted Mr Priyen for assistance as I could not sell the gold on the app and tried to recover my money. There were slight fluctuations in the gold price whilst I held it and eventually the gold was sold and but received just £35.74. I asked for an explanation and was told by the afore mentioned person that was the gold price when it was sold. I asked for a breakdown but still waiting. Can’t say that would recommend this company. Absolutely stay away from this company.

Now, had you read the information in app, or reached out to us, we would have informed you that buying and selling a long term asset in a week is not the best idea. In fact given how unsure you were Mr Priyen recommended that you not buy at all until you have proper conviction.
As when selling, you will get the scrap value of that gold. And anywhere else, you would actually lose 10% more. We paid you the full market rate...
What's surprising is Mr Priyen has also informed you of this when you spoke to him, and even explained that leaving the gold in app is absolutely free.
Other providers would charge minimum £40 plus per month.
Hope this time it makes sense Clifford - Meeren.

Extremely unhappy with this service very slow support wasn’t clear about admin fee charges so when I bought £200 of gold only got £150 so I decided to withdraw last Thursday it’s now Tuesday and I still don’t have my money feels like a scam and theft

Of course if you buy and sell instantly, it's going to be less than what you paid, given that this is physical gold which is actually minted as a bar and can be delivered to you. As for your withdrawal, we have refunded this to your card within the promised time so if you contact your bank you should see its on its way - Meeren, Co-founder at Metfolio
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs, you can’t change your gold unless you buy at least 28g coins, no half g bars to convert, and as for withdrawals…. Still waiting going on nearly a week. Red flag, just go to your local jewellers and buy direct… I wish I done that sooner than deal with these cowboys.

Hey Lyndsey, we tried to locate an account under your name but in our database there is no one with this name listed as a user of Metfolio! Moreover, your review is inaccurate as we do offer delivery as small sovereign coins too which are 7.98 grams, and are soon introducing smaller delivery options. And having checked, there are no withdrawals which are pending from last week, (let alone the fact that there is no account with this name!). If you are trying to promote buying from local jewellers Lyndsey, there are better ways to do it than spreading misinformation on Trustpilot. Maybe make a Tiktok or an Insta reel?
