I found MentorshipHub.ca through a job posting on Indeed. They advertised freelance remote mentorship roles, claiming you could earn $20–$100/hr by guiding mentees. The listing directed me to their website, where they request applicants to upload their resumes directly to the site — not through Indeed, and not via a secure applicant tracking system.
Once on the site, I noticed several red flags:
• Most mentor profiles are blank or use “Lorem Ipsum” placeholder text.
• A few bios are filled out but show unrealistic education timelines and inconsistent country claims (e.g., listing Canadian residency but education/work only in Nigeria or the UK years ago).
• The same reviewer appears to leave feedback on multiple mentor profiles, raising suspicion about fake reviews.
The platform appears unverified and poorly moderated. There’s no evidence of real mentees, active community, or successful transactions. The job ad seems more like a tactic to collect resumes and personal data than to fill actual roles.
****I highly recommend not uploading your resume or personal details to this site until they provide verified proof of legitimacy, mentorship demand, and platform transparency.
Note: Reputable companies do not require applicants to upload resumes directly to unverified websites outside of Indeed or other job platforms. This can be a method of data harvesting or phishing. STAY SAFE in this job market!

As part of our early growth phase, we continue to improve content quality and platform transparency—including mentor profile completeness, community engagement, and review moderation.
To clarify a few points:
Resume Uploads: While Indeed has its own application system, our website collects resumes as part of a more detailed on-boarding process that includes interest assessment, background verification, and mentor categorization. All data submitted is encrypted and stored securely, never sold or shared with third parties.
Placeholder Content: Some profiles may currently display incomplete information or placeholder text ("Lorem Ipsum") as mentors finalize their profiles. We’re actively auditing and encouraging all mentors to complete and verify their information.
Reviews & Bios: We are also reviewing the issue you've raised regarding feedback repetition and inconsistencies in profiles. Any misleading or incomplete content will be corrected or removed.
Platform Activity: While we’re in an early-stage rollout, we do have an active and growing pool of both mentors and mentees. We understand the importance of visible engagement and are working on showcasing more success stories and community activity.
