Website easy and very robust when setting up the order. Great resourcrs to see how process occurs, their team of artists and priduction people...even got great personalized video giving ne mid work update and gehind scenes activity. Wow from A to Z. Bit pricey but results show it,was worth it. Ordering 2nd print asap.

From grainy news photo to wonderful portrait
We have used Memory Cherish twice with amazing results each time. We had a grainy photo of our young family from a news article—barely recognizable—and they produced the most wonderful color photo for us. One of our daughters had passed away, so having her photo as a little one meant a lot.

The process for restoration was easy and very straightforward. My picture was very damaged. I found it while moving and decided to restore as a gift to my mom. It is the only remaining baby photo of me taken with my mom (she’ll be 85 soon). The restored photo looks fantastic. We did one revision and that was great too. I recommend this company to anyone seeking to restore classic pictures.

From old and blurry to masterpiece
It meant more to me than I can express to have my baby picture from 1950 restored. The artist did a magnificent job restoring and revising a blurry copy of a copy of a 76-year-old photo. I also appreciated the option for sepia or black&white prints. MemoryCherish is a five-star photo restoration business. I recommend them without reservation.

It’s just AI results you can do yourself
They’re just running stuff through an AI platform and not even bothering to check the results before sending out the images. I sent in a very large resolution image of a damaged photo of a relative - large enough it couldn’t even upload through their site properly. The first “version” of the photo was sent back <24 hour later, with both of his hands mangled by the generative AI results.
I replied to the revision request prompt, and <24 hours later a new variant was in Google Drive - they’d simply run it through the software again. The texture on his suit and the colors in the image were completely different. Neither version was remotely close to the actual texture of the original fabric, but that’s not the biggest issue in the world. The fact that one hand still had bizarre fused digits because their automated systems couldn’t process the obvious cigar that was in his hand was not nearly as frustrating as the email asking me to circle where the issue was after submitting cropped screenshots of their version of his hand and the original with the clear cigar in it.
The final revision cleaned up the hand somewhat - but it still doesn’t have the actual cigar and it is very clearly generative AI if you zoom in. Also, the finished image is a small 5MP file - because they want you to order prints through them as well.
If you can’t find an actual restoration artist, just download one of these AI apps and do it yourself. You’ll save money in the long run, and have at least some control over the results.
**Re: MemoryCherish response -
I did see the final revision. It looks like he’s holding a long, skinny tootsie roll. It could not more obviously not have been part of the original image - or be more patently out of place with the texture of the rest of the photo. I don’t know if it was with adobe firefly or another program, but it looks very much like someone told a generative AI tool to create a cigar and you stuck it where the old one would have been.
And for further clarification, there is zero evidence as far as I could tell that anybody was doing anything manually with this photo - especially given how comically bad the first version was - and the fact that the first revision didn’t just try to correct issues in the photo, it was a version of the photo that had been run through again with wildly different results in color, texture, and mistakes. If you’re suggesting that what you sent me was after somebody looked through it that makes me even more disturbed by what I was sent.
In addition, the size of the file that you sent back is absolutely in line with what happened when I ran the same photo through one of those online AI restoration programs out of curiosity - which gave me the same sort of results. I’m sure there are people out there that don’t have an issue with this kind of technology being used for this purpose, I think it pumps out garbage personally, and I would never have paid you guys if that’s what I thought you were going to use. I just think you need to be a lot more honest in your advertising what you’re actually charging people for.
You could have also communicated to me if there was an issue with the photo that precluded being able to restore the photo without the heavy use of Generative AI, or if it needed to be sent to a more expensive specialist. Instead, you just ran it through something quick and easy and dropped a file in a Google Drive folder.

I did want to clarify one important point regarding the restoration. In the latest revision, the cigar is in fact visible in the image. After your message, our team attempted to reach out to explain how to locate and view the most recent version of the file in the shared folder, but unfortunately we haven’t received a reply yet.
It’s possible that you may still be viewing an earlier revision rather than the most recent update. We’d be more than happy to walk you through it and review the image together to make sure you’re seeing the correct version.
Our restorations do involve both advanced tools and manual adjustments by artists, and when something doesn’t look right, we absolutely want the opportunity to correct it.

Do your research before ordering
Pros: they made the background look great and the color restoration was accurate. They also responded to email inquiries in a timely fashion
Cons: Their AI software needs tweaking. AI is supposed to be awesome with faces, but my photo looked nothing like my family. I submitted additional photos to help make it more realistic and the ‘finished product’ ended up being a blurrier version of their restoration. I went in search of the refund policy, and I found it obscured somewhere on the page and written in very, very nebulous language (i.e. they cover their bases to basically ensure you never receive one even if you hate the finished product). I work in legal and trust me when I say you will not receive a refund from this company. I reluctantly ‘approved’ the photo out of pressure to have a Christmas gift. I own that mistake.
Their pricing structure and ordering process feel dishonest and could use some serious overhaul on the website. They do not outline the total costs of their price. After I paid $60 for restoration, I was then charged $9 for printing/shipping. Nowhere was the printing cost outlined until AFTER I ‘approved’ the final photo.
They do not provide a tracking reference for shipping so I had no idea when it would arrive. 4-6 days turned into 8. I had to reach out to them via email to find out where my package was - ridiculous.
Then, my print arrived damaged - like someone literally ran over the package with a truck and then submerged it in water for an hour. Totally ruined and unusable. I requested a refund via email as I was not happy with my entire experience would not be able to use this photo.
I was told my photo was not eligible for a refund because I’d ‘approved’ the final version. I should have never approved it. I let my desire to give my parents a special gift override my gut instinct. There were too many red flags with this service - it reminded me of those subscription services that make it impossible to opt out of.
Lastly, and maybe most importantly, at no point in the ordering process, revision process or email inquiries about shipping and damaged delivery did the company send out an email survey requesting feedback. Reputable companies want feedback and want to be better. Hell, most companies would offer a partial or full refund if you’re not happy with their product. This company does not have those practices in place.

First and foremost, we genuinely strive to make our service as transparent and fair as possible. Before any physical prints are sent, we provide a digital preview of the restored photo for your review and approval. At this stage, we invite all customers to request as many free digital revisions as needed - we never charge extra for these adjustments. Once the restoration is approved, we proceed to printing and shipping. This helps ensure you're fully satisfied with the final result before anything is mailed.
Regarding refunds, we do explain during the approval process that we are unable to offer them once a digital restoration has been approved and shipping is complete, as the work has already been completed. However, in cases where prints arrive damaged, as happened in your case, we took full responsibility. While shipping damage is, unfortunately, beyond our control, it is rare, and we clearly marked your parcel as fragile. Still, we promptly reshipped your prints at no additional cost, as part of our commitment to ensuring you receive what you paid for.
As for pricing, the restoration fee covers the digital work, while printed products are optional; the print was added while placing the order. The protective coating you selected at approval is an added feature designed to safeguard your print, and is always optional. The standard shipping is indeed free. The $9 charge was for the print protective coating that you added during approval. If no services are desired, you are able to complete the approval form with zero charge.
We also hear your feedback about tracking and communication. Our standard delivery timeframe is 4–6 business days, not calendar days, which is information available while placing the order and at the final checkout, and standard shipping is always free. In your case, tracking shows the parcel actually arrived earlier than expected. That said, we understand how important clear updates are, and we're continually working to enhance our communication and transparency throughout the process.
We’re sorry this experience didn’t feel like the celebration of memories that it should have been. Your feedback helps us continue refining our services. If there’s anything more we can do to make this right, our team is always here to help.

This was a difficult year for our family with the loss of a very loved one. With just a week before Christmas to go, I found an old torn, black and white photo.
