We're very disappointed with the microscope kit. The lens is rubbish so basically you can't see anything through it let alone mange to focus with the smart phone lens. So disappointing. The kit went together well otherwise.

Mel science has been a great addition to our homeschool! My science-loving son especially enjoyed the chemistry sets. Quality, hands on education without screens! I say this, however, he always opened the box as soon as he could, using his playtime to learn and experiment. We’ve had Mel Science for a couple years now, and I feel like they helped keep science fresh and fun for him.
He just won first place in his first ever, regional science fair! This brought him to states where he won second place in his category and division. Now he’s applying to The National Thermo-Fisher science fair!

We are a homeschool family and MEL Science has been a constant enjoyment for my 10 year old son. He loved the hands on experience, feeling like a real scientist. I appreciated the ability to tone it down or dail it up depending on the depth that he wanted to explore. Well done with a great subscription box!

I had to pay custom clearance but it was refunded by MEL.

We have been getting their science kits for years, but we lost our starter box, and couldn’t do many of our boxes without it. I let them know, and they sent a new one right out for me!

Very high quality science experiments with lots of information. These kits were by far the most like lab work and not just crafty like some kits.

Kits were good. My Grandson out grew them.

Initial three boxes fit medical science I subscribed for, but after that they started sending other random things.
It wasn't what we had subscribed for, and there was never any explanation that they would continue to take our money and send something else.
Other than that, the kits are high-quality. My review would be five star if I actually got what I had subscribed for.

My grandchildren loved these kits which encourage children to understand the beginnings of physics and chemistry. while my grandson is now in college, my granddaughter who is in fifth grade just explored hydraulics by building a hydraulic jack. They really support experiential learning.

I have been using Mel Science products since 3rd April 2022.
Previously, I used many leading children’s chemistry and physics sets since being suspended 13th March 2010 and then expelled 12th September 2011 from a UK university. The reasons for my expulsion are:
[i] I attained a distinction for my sandwich placement work. One of the academics found that mark distressing. Because students are not allowed to distress academics, I was expelled.
[ii] I complied with my sandwich placement employee contract and my student contract by submitting my work for marking in good time. The work went to my directors – Senior Leadership Team - and to my lecturers – also Senior Leadership Team. Without my prior knowledge, the academic wanted me to act ultra vires of both the employment law contract and the student law contract and have the university board Action my work prior to me having it marked. Consequently, the academic successfully expelled me for distributing an unauthorised report estate wide even though it was just my placement work being submitted for marking.
The reason I utilised Mel Science is I wanted the same high quality products at home that are available at university, and theirs are. In many instances, Mel Science products can be considered superior. This is because the equipment needs to be built. Building embeds further understanding. The accompanying booklets and online platforms are easy to understand and follow and publish images to social media.
The reason that I have ended my subscription, is to repay my Student Finance loan, so that I can attend university in the US. I’ll be free from UK academic harm there.
In the meantime, I will continue to use the unopened equipment from the generous Mel Science kits, and I look forward to the day that I can reinstall my account with Mel Science. In the meantime, I will miss their products and their support team.

MEL science has great products AND customer service. We love the quality of the kits, and whenever I run into an issue the customer service team has been able to quickly find me a resolution. I’m happy to have found this resource for my kids.

Kits are really well though of, the best parts about these kits is the amazement of the child and the interaction with the parent. This has really opened my daughter eyes and interest in science. I would recommend this product to all parents.

Mel science are scamming thier customers! I only subscribed for 3 months, but they have continued to charge a further 3 months after cancelling my subscription. After several attempts to cancel, by voice, txt, on their site and helpdesk, they still continue to charge.DON'T DO IT!!!

It was a great science supplement for my homeschooled child and would definitely recommend it for that and also kids who just love science.

we have enjoyed building all the models together and reading more about science with my son. It was our farther and son time!

Every box was great! My kids loved them all, especially my now 9yo that has been able to do them mostly on his own using the app.
