Professional, Understanding and kind
Jan Galloway was extremely professional, understanding and kind to us both in what was a very difficult situation. Although we did not progress beyond a couple of meetings as we were able to resolve issues ourselves, she was helpful in many ways and I would have trusted her to complete the process if we had needed to proceed.

Wasn’t the company that was the…
Wasn’t the company that was the problem. It was the lady that was mediating us. She called me the incorrect name over and over again in one of our sessions. She got incorrect details on important documents. I just felt that she wasn’t very understanding or caring about the hardest time of my life. I know it’s their job to be mutual and understand both sides but you can still show a caring side when doing this. Divorce is so hard and isn’t a nice thing to be going through, so a little compassion would help.

I really am sorry to hear that you felt that your mediator came across as uncaring and lacking understanding at what will undoubtedly have been a very difficult time for you.
As you will understand I am not able to go in to any details of your particular case here due to confidentiality, however, all I can say is that the mediator that took your case is very experienced and has received a lot of very positive feedback from her clients. From your review it would seem that they have, however, fallen short of the very high standards of service that we expect from all of our mediators on this occasion and I can only offer our apologies for that.
As part of our internal review processes I will share your comments with your mediator and our Director of Mediation Services. This will allow the mediator a chance to reflect on your comments in relation to the service that she delivers and to see where she can improve.
