MCT Automotive Group made my experience of selling a vehicle far more stressful than it ever needed to be.

They never clearly informed me about the $1,000 cancellation fee before I signed the contract to sell my vehicle. Only after signing did I discover this ridiculous fee, with no reasonable opportunity to reconsider without facing a significant financial penalty. In my experience, this was a complete failure of transparency.

The situation became even more frustrating when I tried to sell my vehicle through another dealership. MCT had registered a security interest against my vehicle on the PPSR, creating unnecessary complications and putting my new transaction at risk. What should have been a straightforward sale turned into a massive headache.

I eventually found another dealership that offered me a fair trade-in price and treated me properly. However, I had to deal with additional stress because of the security interest registered by MCT.

Customers should never have to feel trapped by unexpected fees or pressured into accepting conditions that were not properly explained upfront. If you are considering doing business with MCT Automotive Group, read every single line of the contract and get all fees and cancellation conditions confirmed in writing before signing anything.

Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this company. The way this situation was handled has completely destroyed my trust in them. A vehicle sale should not turn into a battle just because you decide to take your business elsewhere.

Going through the process of selling my car right now. All the advertising about quick and straight forward is ridiculous. The guy inspecting the car has no say in the decision, he's a local guy contracted to look at the mechanical condition of the car. He has no discretion in the buying. The first valuation you get over the phone/via the website is not the price they'll pay. Immediately came up with a buying price $3000 less than the original quote. Final remittance is not "instant"; 24 hours to process paperwork I sent them (rego, ID, etc) then another 24 hours for actual payment (still waiting, I'm on "the list" for payments) and the final kick in the teeth is a $180 "processing fee" for paying you! Absolutely ridiculous.

WARNING don't ever use or buy a car from this company as they have a list of cars that are banned for no reason and in 100% excellent condition. Send out messages saying buy cars but never mention a list of banned cars they cannot buy thus wasting people time and money, very much shows they have absolutely NO respect or ethics. False advertising and or cold calling as every car in Australia would have problems, this is NOT limited to just one car. I have been around for 65 years and owed a Leyland Marina that these so called people in the time said it was a rubbish car absolute bullshit and now saying it about the Holden Cruze. Well I guess they can say that nowthat Holden is no longing around.

From my experience, STAY AWAY. Still waiting for holding deposit upon inspection. Car had definitely been on racetrack, said servicing was all up to date which the car had missed services. The Brisbane staff are rude and given the numerous negative reviews I believe they should investigated.

My experience with Cars4Us raised serious concerns around transparency and informed consent.

I was asked to sign a contract on a representative’s phone, which made it difficult to properly review the terms. I had concerns about a $1,000 cancellation fee and believed this had been addressed following a discussion with management. It was not.

An encumbrance was later placed on my vehicle without this being clearly explained to me beforehand. This prevented me from selling the car elsewhere, even after deciding not to proceed.

I was informed that a fee would be required to remove the encumbrance.

I believe consumers should be clearly informed of all contractual consequences before signing, particularly where there is no cooling-off period.

And for all their exploitative behaviour, they are getting rewarded by Toyota purchasing this company for $120million, what does that say about the world we currently live in
