I’m a single woman of a certain age always have an issues with my tires, the service I received from the staff at the Mavis Syosset is impressive. The staff is so accommodating. Card holder with Goodwill and I’ve always got my tires there in my last visit. I canceled my credit card at Goodwill. And decide to do all my shopping for tires at the Mavis Syosset

I came in early due to low tire pressure. It was an emergency. Came in @ 8:10 AM and was put by 8:28 AM. Couldn’t be more happier. Thank you Kevin & John.

Came in for an oil change with no appointment. Very quick and easy. Service person was very friendly.
I'm never the type to leave a review about a store but the experience I had today was so extremely unprofessional that I'm taking the time to write my first one. This review is specifically about a worker named Kevin who was at the front desk today. Kevin is in severe need of corporate discipline or employee-customer interaction re-training because he is by far the worst & rudest receptionist I've interacted with in my life
I made a reservation for an oil change at 11:00 AM today and so I went to the shop this morning as scheduled. The first red flag I should've noticed is when Kevin allowed a person in front of me--who had no reservation by the way--to cut the car service queue to get his car (a blue Kia sedan) serviced immediately since he claimed he had to be somewhere by noon. The second red flag was that when it was finally my turn to check in, I was told that the shop had no synthetic oil in stock despite the fact that I had made a reservation for a synthetic oil change. Up until this point though, I was trying to be understanding and so I changed my service request to a flat tire replacement. I asked Kevin how long I should expect the wait to be and he told me it should take an hour. So with everything seemingly good to go, I finalized my service check-in, provided my contact info, & handed over my car keys.
So far so good despite the minor hiccups. But now here's where it becomes extremely rude and unprofessional.
After an hour at 12:30 PM, since that's the duration Kevin told me, I called to check in about my car status and he told me that they haven't even touched the car yet and it'll probably take 50 minutes longer--third red flag. Now, I totally understand that these types of scenarios can happen for auto service centers when they get busy... But keep in mind the three points I mentioned above:
1. I had an 11:00 AM appointment
2. Kevin was the one who told me it should take an hour.
3. Kevin completely disregarded my 11:00 AM appointment by essentially giving my spot to the guy in front of me who came in with no reservation at all.
So it gets worse from here.
During that call, I asked what was causing the delays since I was initially told an hour. It was from this point, Kevin started responding back rudely. He mockingly replied, "Oh, so should we just let you skip the other cars? Get over yourself." This logic by the way makes no sense because Kevin was the one who let the person with no reservation basically take my original 11:00 AM appointment. So I questioned Kevin back using his own logic saying that he's the one that let another guy skip my service turn. His reply was that apparently the company policy states that appointments don't mean anything and that it is first come first serve. On a side note, I called Mavis HQ afterward to double-check his statement and they immediately refuted it saying Mavis honors appointments over walk-ins. Anyhow, Kevin's rude & belligerent tone continued and he basically told me to come pick up my car if I don't want to wait the additional 50 minutes.
This is the worst part of the situation.
At this point, I was frankly fed up with Kevin's terrible customer service and disrespectful attitude so I decided to go pick up my car. I hate being confrontational so I was willing to look past the unprofessional interactions up until this point and simply pick up my car saying, "I'd like my car keys back." However, as soon as I walked in, Kevin started making snarky comments like, "Oh wow, you actually showed up to get your car? Someone's mad." Kevin then proceeded to escalate his inappropriate comments further to cussing at me and telling me to learn how an auto service center works. At this point, I simply turned my back and left the shop as Kevin was continuing his verbal abuse. To make matters worse, I noticed as I walked out of the shop that a car that clearly came after me was also the one being worked on in the garage. The blue Kia was long gone and I should've been after but it was someone else's car instead.
Kevin should be put on disciplinary leave immediately.
I had visited this store so many times (i have changed like 6 or more tires here and more than 5 times oil change). Every visit was great but this time.
I had a bubble on one of my tires, I dropped the car in the morning, at first they said they need to change two tires to keep the balance and i doubted that since they had changed only one for me before (from here i was feeing they wanted to fool me). Then the guy told me the engineer would check and call me back. After 2 hours, one guy called and told me they can change one tire but the bubble was not covered by the Road Hazard insurance. I said no, it would be covered since i had changed the tire due to the bubble in this store before and it was covered and i found the Road Hazards Insurance and read to him that it was covered. The guy kept saying it is not covered. I asked to talk with the manager or owner and he said 'I am the owner'. But I knew he was not since I have talked with the owner before. This made me feel more like he was trying to fool me. The guy then said i did not understand his English and asked me to visit the store for explanation and hang up the phone directly.
I walked 20 minutes there. Since I was thinking he was fooling me, so I tried to record our conversation in case I would talk to his manager or owner. The guy found this and yelled at me and refused to provide any service. I asked to talk with the manager or owner again. but he refused again and joked at me 'do you think the manager or owner have time to talk with you?'
He said the mavis has good reputation. Yes, Mavis do has good reputation otherwise I won't visit the store so many times. but the good reputation is ruining down by those employees.

Syosset, NY Mavis shop is always efficient, friendly, immediate responses, and work is done properly. Also, my rear tire had a slow leak and service man always helped and put air in the tire for me until I was able to get it fixed.
