Don't trust Mavis Tire
I had taken my truck to Mavis Tire for a NY inspection. They failed me due to rust on the rotor hoping to take advantage and get a $900 brake job out of it. I looked up the NY inspection law and there is no reason to fail a rotor unless it is cracked or broken. I took it to another garage the next day and they confirmed this and passed me. They said there was no sign of trouble with my rotors. MAVIS TIRE CANNOT BE TRUSTED!

Bad news , good news
Yesterday had an appointment to have NYS inspection done on my car. When I arrived they said the could not do it because the inspector was not there, despite my having an appointment.
I rescheduled for today, the counter person apologized and said it was his fault.I was pleased that he took responsibility and apologized.
From there all went smoothly and the. work was finished in a timely manor.
One star for yesterday and five stars for today.

William was the best. Took me in quickly. Explained potential car issues. Fair price and I didn't have to wait as long as I was expecting. Very satisfied; smooth operation.

⛔️Consumer Warning⛔️
I think I’ve calmed down enough to tell the Mavis Tire fiasco from earlier today.
- 8:30am appointment for today, scheduled three weeks ago, to have my snows put on. Arrived 8:10am. He asks if I want new stems. I tell him why would I want new stems? He says most people get them. Really? It’s the first time I’ve ever been asked that. My answer was no thank you. I don’t recognize any workers I’ve dealt with in the past.
- Left my car with them and walk to the Walmart behind Mavis and discover I left my phone in the car.
- When I ask the guy to retrieve my phone from my car, which is now in the bay, I am informed I need new snows. I found that odd because although they were in the plastic bags they put them in last Spring, the exposed part of the snows looked fine for a third winter with no uneven wear. The tires THEY showed me had uneven wear. Were they mine? I will give them the benefit of the doubt here because I only saw each tire area that was not covered by the bag and was walking to Walmart & didn’t observe them take my snows out of my vehicle.
- I ask how much for new snows. He quotes me $752 and change. I confirm that is with whatever they have to do with the tire including tax. I confirmed that TWICE and had punched the number in on my phone calculator to remember the figure.
- They tell me the new snows are at a warehouse on Henry Clay Blvd and will be here in an hour. Three hours later, they arrive & my car is ready with the new snows on them 30+ minutes later.
- He rings me out and says, $787. I’m like, no. You quoted me $752. Why the difference, I ask. He corrects it and says he has it down to $750.80 and I pay it.
- Up until this point, I am the calm, quiet, patient old lady with the gray hair. But I am about to lose my ____.
- Usually they ask if I want them to store my all-seasons at the store and I always say no, please put them in my vehicle. They never asked. So I say, “Are my all-seasons in the back of my SUV?” He says, “No, your all-seasons are bad. Did you still want us to put them in the back?” I told him YES I want them!!! I told him they absolutely are NOT bad. They are only a year old. I even searched my checking account, while standing there, for the word Mavis and found I purchased them Sept’21.
- He goes out behind the building and comes back with two tires, plus takes two tires from the bay area of where my car was. I yell out to the bay area, “Are those even MY tires?!?!”
- The waiting area is full of customers, and at this point I’m pissed. I am purposely speaking loud enough for other customers to hear. I waited 4 hours, what should’ve taken two. I begin to think they did something hinky with the snow tires I brought. He misquotes me the amount owed from the figure he quoted earlier & I had confirmed (twice).
- He says, “Yeah, your tires are good. The guy that was working on your car made a mistake.” Ya think?!?!?
- Facts: Purchased those all-season on 9/15/21. Had the snows put on 11/02/21. And then the all-seasons were put back on sometime in May,’22. This is documented with my receipts that I found and a screenshot of the various Mavis transactions coming out of my bank account.
- Facts: I put a little less than 20K miles on a year. If I have snows on 6 months & all-seasons on 6 months, there is no way 10K miles are going to wear down a 36K tire, whether all-season or snow.
So, THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR CAR TO MAVIS FOR TIRES OR SERVICE. Oh, and by the way, none of my receipts noted odometer readings. All are blank. That is the last time I go there, and when I get done speaking to someone at Mavis corporate HQ, a person or two better be unemployed. FEEL FREE TO SHARE.

First I had a 2 a clock appointment they didn’t even pull it in till 2:38 then the incompatint lifts my Jeep by the plastic skirting instead of the dram of the Jeep I said something and they tried telling me that’s where you lift the cars not the Fram. Guess what I’m not a idiot ya don’t lift by Plastic and now I have to take it to get that repaired out of my pocket and they didn’t offer to even lower the bill at all very poor business ethics her not happy at all

This place is a joke ! Never let them touch your car, i don't think anyone working there is a mechanic.
Waited 2 hours for oil change.
Ordered new tires they never called when they came in.
Had an appointment for them to be put on, when i arrived they said they couldn't do it that day well why givemethe appointment ???
I told them forget it keep the tires and went down the street and was treated like a valued customer.

Extremely unprofessional
I visited yesterday after being told on the phone I could drop my vehicle off and it would be done because they were open until 8 pm. Upon arrival I was told it was drop off only and it wouldnt be done yesterday. I then went to Walmart to find a cheaper tire unfortunately it wasn't available. I called back yesterday to make an appointment with a larger gentleman he said 9 am? I said how about 10 am? He said perfect. Today 12/10/21 my father attempted to drop the vehicle off today they told him they could not do that tire for that price even though it was locked in with the service center and it would not be done today.... I called the manager he told me he never made an appointment with me and we never agreed on a time.... He then told me I was lying and he never told my father they couldnt do that price. He put me on hold for about 20 minutes after telling me 10 times that I was lying and that he never agreed on 10 am. Completely unprofessional and extremely poor customer service this location will be getting one star on every single website I can find unfortunately. Upon calling customer service I was berated with questions and the woman refused to transfer me to a supervisor unless I told her why... Upon asking nicely 10-15 times she finally agreed I am still on hold
