Fantastic customer experience at Teesside Park Store.
I recently visited the Teesside Park Branch of Market Cross Jewellers and was blown away with the level of service that I received from Isabelle and the team.
I had an issue with setting the time on an old G-Shock watch that I had recently replaced the battery on and after multiple attempts I decided to accept defeat and take advice from the experts.
Baring in mind this watch was circa 10 years old and I hadn't purchased it from this particular branch, however this didn't deter Isabelle and her colleague in trying to help. I left the watch with them over night and I received a call the next day to say that they had managed to sort the issue out that was preventing the time to set correctly.
Isabelle presented me with my watch and said that there was no charge ! .. Wow !!.. I cant remember the last time that I received such a great level of customer service.
A great experience , dealing with nice , knowledgeable and professional people, which is hard to find these days.
Thanks again to Isabelle and the team @ the Teesside Park branch.

I was shocked by the poor customer service! next day delivery not arrived even after 6 days and this is after they've advertised a free next day delivery and then charged me £6 for the pleasure.
when called customer services their assistant manager put the phone down on me! Poor company guys! don't do this to yourselves!

Hi Yakob, Thanks for your review. I was the person you spoke to earlier this morning. The next day delivery is only free over £100 which was under the threshold which is why you had to pay £6. I understand and do apologize for the delays.
We did send an update as soon as we knew there was going to be a delay on the 19th May. Had we knew there where specific circumstances for the order we would have certainly tried to get it dispatched sooner but we didn't receive any reply.
I tried to help you over the phone but as the tone got more aggressive I couldn't find any other solution than to process a refund on the order, you then started swearing at me which is why I had to put the phone down as no one should have to put up with that kind of behavior.
SUPERB CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCTS
From first contact about a product, speedy lovely reply, placed order on strength of reply, very next day order arrived and it was placed in the afternoon, arrived with box, pouch and leaflets, thank you for an excellent first class service

WARNING! The staff at this shop are totally dishonest and have ripped my sister off £100 on scrap gold! Also the long haired female told me a watch wasn’t gold! I took it elsewhere to be told it most certainly was! You aught to be ashamed of yourselves! I’ve never met such dishonest people in my life! DONT USE THEM!

Having bought a watch that needed extra links.I visited mcjewelers the staff couldn’t of been more helpful they sourced the links which were free then fitted them for only a nominal fee so I offered them a tip which they said they couldn’t accept so this is just to thank them for their service.the shop was in Hartlepool so a big thanks to the staff

Amazing!
I ordered a ring which I have had my eye on for months and this website was selling it for half price! So I thought I would take a chance and order it.
Well it was the best thing I did. I ordered on a Saturday with next day delivery. Taking into consideration the weekend it said it would arrive Tuesday.
I got an order confirmation email straight away. On Monday afternoon I had en email to say the item was dispatched. My account was updated with a tracking number and my item was delivered by 1pm Tuesday.
Amazing service and my ring is beautiful. It arrived in a lovely box too.
Very pleased and will definitely order again.

So I made an order online, choosing Market Cross as a local business. I ordered 2 items that were in stock an paid for next day delivery. 4 days later, half of the order was desptched, and received the following day. After a week I received a notification to say the second half of the order was despatched, but 10 days later nothing has turned up and Market across are not responding to any comms. A couple more days and I’ll be passing it my card provider to get the money back.

The best experience purchasing from a jeweller ever.
I made email contact with the Middlesbrough team to enquire about a men's luxury watch. Not only did I get an immediate response from the owner on a Sunday afternoon but the follow+up by store staff was superb. The purchase was arranged with support online and the whole process was simple and with the guidance of a very professional staff team the beautiful watch arrived within 24 hrs. The cost of this watch matched anything we could find in-store and online. Thanks to everyone at the Middlesbrough headquarters a very positive experience and will definitely be back in the future for another watch.....for me this time!

Fantastic
I placed an order online for a bangle which was being sold at a fantastic price (saved me £23) and the ordering process was very easy. Free recorded delivery also. I received confirmation of my order straight after purchasing along with any order updates and to my delight my bangle got delivered the very next day. Extremely pleased with my experience with this company and would definitely recommend to others.

Zero stars
Online the Metro centre opening hours for this store is 9am to 9pm. I would have awarded zero stars as waited from 9am to 9.25am while staff sat and drank coffee/tea and talked to each other.Then decided not to waste any more time.

Hello, we've looked into this for you. The only place that states we open at 9am is the Metro Centre website. On all of our pages it says we open at 10am which is our opening time.
I apologize that you have waited under this false information but unfortunately this isn't something we have control of. We have contacted the center to get this sorted so it doesn't happen again.

Very helpful staff, my husband purchased a Brietling watch for me, they got a great selection in for him to view. They even altered the watch strap so it would fit straight away as it was a surprise gift. I would highly recommend.

Excellent Customer Service
I rarely would write a review, but I feel like these guys deserve one!
I ordered two bracelets during the week. Within a few hours, a member of the team, James, sent me an email, saying that there was a mixup with stock and my ordered items weren't available. I was disappointed but I ordered two different bracelets instead. The order was changed promptly and efficiently, and I received my order within 24hrs (even across the water to Northern Ireland!).
I was impressed with the professional handling of this situation and quick delivery, with lovely boxes/bags included. Excellent customer service. Would recommend ordering from Market Cross Jewellers definitely!

Ordered my partner a watch…… 5 weeks later still no watch!!! After numerous emails between the shop and Royal Mail (which isn’t my job) I was told by market cross jewellers to “contact police” so of course I did to be told by police it’s not my case to call as it’s between shop and Royal Mail, 5 weeks of wasted time and so much stress about the whole situation.
Emails back to myself have been passing the book and I’m still no further forward just out of pocket and no watch for Christmas.
Honestly avoid this shop

Try Del Boy for service instead
Bought sterling silver St Christopher and upgraded chain to curb chain from 60 Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough. To start with they ignored me then almost tried to give me and my wife the bums rush, maybe because i'm disabled maybe because i don't dress posh enough for them. Less than 48 hours later and the chain has snapped due to a faulty design first link is welded and has shattered. Rang up and i am told most likely its my fault its been pulled or yanked, really i'm nearly 50 not a yob how dumb do you think i am?. Told them i moved my neck and it just dropped oh no that's my fault in that case the fact it is cheap tat like Ratner's used to sell is what?. These people are happy to take my money then treat me like scum for their shortcomings and money grabbing desires. Even Del Boy has better after sales so i now have to find a local jeweller to fix a 2 day old chain because i got scammed by con artists on the high street. I have an idea next time i want any jewellery i will go to the Goldsmiths instead and deal with a pro if i want cowboys i will deal with John Wayne and for respect i will deal with Dignitas.

As your review of the service received from us was so far removed from actual events, I thought I’d take the time to reply.
Let’s go through this shall we?

You were greeted and served within minutes in a ‘cheery’ way by one of our lovely ladies. (Mrs B)
“Maybe because I’m disabled” “Maybe because I don’t dress posh enough”
Mrs B remembers that you used a walking stick but can’t recall what you were wearing. Either way, neither of those things affected how Mrs B served you which was in her usual friendly and professional manner. You, apparently, were very pleasant and insisted on not wanting to take a box for your purchase and left the shop happy and smiling.
“Rang up and I am told most likely that it’s my fault, It’s been pulled or yanked”
When you rang the store, your call was taken by another lovely lady who has worked for us for over 27 years (Funnily enough, another Mrs B). She asked if you could bring your chain in to be examined/assessed and explained that if it was a manufacturing fault it would be replaced and if it wasn’t, not to worry as our jeweller could repair it for you and that it wouldn’t cost very much. The words “Pulled” or “Yanked” were never uttered.
You said that it would be difficult to get back to Middlesbrough because of where you live and she suggested that you could take it into either our Metrocentre or Peterlee store. You said that you could easily get to Peterlee and thanked her. The call ended. Mrs B said that the whole conversation was pleasant with no unhappy undertones from you at all.
The Facts don’t really bear much resemblance to your memory of events.
The rest of your review appears to be a bit of a ‘rant’ and perhaps even an attempt at getting a few laughs from people who read it. Even I laughed! Incredulous laughter, but laughter all the same.
But, here’s the thing.
Posting poor reviews such as this on any platform can seriously damage a company’s reputation. I’m all for writing reviews but when a poor review is posted which, like this one, is unjustified and unkind it has to be refuted.
We are an independent Jewellers and we have stores across the North East who have been serving their local communities for many years (We opened our first store over 40 years ago.) and have a deservedly excellent reputation. Our staff are friendly, dedicated and professional. I now have two ladies who are both extremely distressed over the accusations that you have made against them and the possibility that people may take your one star rating at face value without reading our reply.
