Boards are made of composite and not real wood.
Asked Thalia, customer service, for a board out of real wood. They dont make 'em

Have had my first board replaced, because the glue was letting go and the vinyl came off. Loads of emails back and forth with the customer service and Ive got send a new one.
Which is just as bad a board as the first one.
The joints are not pretty at all, hinges are cheap sh*t and its just not a well finished board
Not worth the money, sorry

Since Manopoulos only publishes positive reviews on their website and does not display negative ones, even when they are constructive, I feel compelled to share my feedback here.

The photos on the website look very appealing and suggest a high-quality product. The game I received is clean and functional, but I was quite disappointed with the materials. I was expecting something closer to real wood, whereas it is actually a wood-look finish with printed plastic.

Visually, it remains decent, but for a price of €76, I expected a significantly higher level of quality. There are also small imperfections on the board surface, such as minor marks or scratches in the plastic.

In addition, there was a strong chemical smell when opening the box, which lingered for several days. It was quite intense and unpleasant. It may come from glue or manufacturing materials, but in any case, it detracts from the overall experience.

It is also frustrating that negative feedback is not published on their website, as this prevents customers from forming a balanced and informed opinion before purchasing.

They sold a backgammon board to me on Etsy. Had countless reviews I now believe to be fake. Not only did they UPCHARGE the etsy product vs their website after i investigated further, but the board showed up completely damaged. The corners were not sealed, there were cracks everywhere and the button closures were bent and broken. FINALLY, when i reached out for support, they CLOSED THEIR ETSY SHOP and disappeared! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

My wife and I ordered this backgammon set before Christmas and received a surprise gift along with our order. A small travel sized backgammon set with Christmas motifs.
It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, nevertheless, we decided to keep it for ourselves. Didn’t have the courage to give it away.
Very pleased and would definitely recommend.

Went for a mahogany and oak board which was one of the lower priced and doesn't have alternating colours - but that's fine for us actually. The board is really beautiful - superb quality. Delivery all good with DHL. What a great company thoroughly recommended. Some of the more expensive boards look just amazing - maybe if I get a bit better one day!

I recently received the walnut wooden box with a natural Italian olive burl top that I ordered from Manopoulos a week ago. The quality of the box is absolutely exquisite. It is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. It arrived very well packaged and on time. I am extremely happy with my purchase!

Ordered an expensive Backgammon, got one done with poor craftsmanship: boards is already scratched, the wood unacceptably cracked and reworked in an uneven manner. Nobody replies to complaints.

I ordered a backgammon in olive wood. But it is not olive!! A cheap surrogate instead!
And they do not reply on my Email.
So no way to send it back.
Attention! Fraud!

Recieved a premium backgammon board as a gift ,very beautiful finish and materials. However after eight months noticed there appeared to be some stain coming through the lighter colored bars. After contacting Manopoulos they declined any responsibility and would not agree to exchange the board. So beware if you have any issues as they do not back their products.

Be careful. I purchased a chess set in size 40x40 cm but I received one in size 50x50 but they refused to create a return unless I make a new order. I refuse to do that because they have refunded me for the wrong item but they won’t so they just ignore my emails.

I purchased a chess set and had a custom label made for $375. The label was not placed on the box straight and the board arrived damaged with no certificate. I reached out to them and they were very selective about which emails they responded to. They blamed the damage on the shipping process. The board was inside of a wooden box which did not arrived damaged which means the board was damaged prior to being placed inside the box. On the website they offer warranty and a 15 day return/exchange policy which I told them I would like to go forth with. Today marks the fifth day and I have not received a response yet.
