I participated to the Jungle skills course and it exceeded my expectations. I found a team of very passionate and expert instructors. I learned a lot while enjoying my time in a safe and friendly environment. I will join for sure Maddog adventures in other courses in the future!

I just finished a jungle preparation course with Maddogadventures, and I want to share how great it was.
The training was really helpful and gave me important skills for jungle trips.

Choosing a Basecamp

Right from the start, we learned how to pick a safe basecamp. Maddogadventures taught us to look for safety, resources, and good terrain, which made me feel more confident in the wild.

Movement and Navigation

We covered how to move and navigate through the jungle. The techniques were similar to those used in forests, which showed how useful these skills can be. I liked the hands-on practice that helped me understand better.

River Crossing Exercises

One of the best parts was the river crossing drills. We learned safe ways to cross rivers, focusing on teamwork and communication—important skills for tough situations.

Hammock Setup

I really enjoyed learning about hammock selection and setup. Knowing how to pick the right hammock for the jungle and set it up properly added comfort to our trip and helped with shelter building.

Equipment Selection

The instructors were very knowledgeable about choosing the right equipment. We learned how to select and set up important gear, which is crucial for outdoor adventures.

Tools Comparison

I found it interesting to learn about the differences between the parang, kukri, and machete. Each tool has its uses, and the practical demonstrations were exciting.

Water Purification
We also learned how to purify water, which is vital for survival. This training covered several methods to ensure we have safe drinking water.

Planning for Adventures

Finally, we talked about personal planning for an expedition. The focus on organisation really stood out to me, as it’s key to having a successful adventure.

Overall, I loved my jungle preparation course with Maddogadventures. The training was well organised, the instructors had a lot of experience, and I left feeling confident and ready to use my new skills. I highly recommend this course for anyone serious about jungle trips!

Amazing group of friends who teach what they are passionate about: outdoor survival and expedition skills. They are inclusive, supportive, helpful, patient. They clearly love what they are doing and do what they love. I went on their Advanced course in the Cairngorms in Scotland in May 2023 and had a fantastic time. Their prices are competitive too. I attended the basic survival and expedition course. It was really well run and full of valuable information that you could actually use. No learning how to whittle a spoon but practical skills to help you live and thrive in the wilderness.

I’ve attended two courses run by Maddog Adventures, both were well run, informative and great value for money. I’ve also purchased several outdoor items from them via their website. Again well priced and dispatched rapidly with no issues. They also donated a place on a survival course to a charity which was used by a stage 4 cancer survivor

I’ve been on a good few maddog adventures. I have loved every single minute and learned so much about myself as well as surviving in the outdoors. Not only that, you get to be part of a great community for life. The guys don’t do this for money. You can tell straight away they do it for their love of adventure and the outdoors. The guys at maddog are highly skilled and knowledgable about everything outdoors. Morale is always high and great banter is always incoming.
