I have lived in Reno NV for 5 years now. I have been a mechanic for over 15 years. I wish I didn't have to say this but the Mac trucks covering this area are the most unreliable tool trucks. They always show up for a couple months and then they disappear for over a year. This is beyond frustrating especially when you are trying to get tools fixed. What I have heard is one guy out here had 2 trucks and there is another guy with one truck. Regardless I have stopped buying Mac tools because if I ever need a tool fixed for replaced the support is never there. I also had the same issues when I was working in CA. Seems like it's just a Mac tool thing no matter where you go. On the other hand Snap-on, Cornwall, and Gear wrench are consistently stopping by the shop every week and if they miss a stop they let us know the week before that they will not be by the following week. Most guys I work with are buying harbor freight now days anyway. It's cheaper and when you need a repair or replacement you just walk in the store and get it.

i have been buying Mac tools for 17 + years, tools are great, BUT .. i am now in a location that does not have a vendor, or so i'm told. i see a Mac tool truck go by my Garage twice a week. and when i mentioned this to a Mac rep, i was told im not on his route. i was given the option to send my tools in for exchange, then that leaves me with no tools,& i have to ship them. the 1 star im giving is for the poor customer service.the guy goes right by my shop, he cant stop in once a month ? really?

I have been purchasing Mac Tools for nearly 15 years and my local dealer in Sheffield recently left the business because of Macs poor treatment, now I want any tool warranties honouring they are not interested so I won’t be purchasing anything else from them Teng and Halfords professional now

mac tools evan glass is filled with hate he wrote fake review about me and refused to remove it i was targeted based on my nation of orgin, my religion and i belong to a minority group. he is calling me antisemite but i am semite. please let evan glass know his behavior will not be tolerated by your organization and tell him to remove the fake review under my employer. evan glass is a racist and he has bad manners.

Bought from b&q the mac allister strimmer has to be the very worst piece of garden equipment I have had in 60+ years on this earth. I can’t believe that they can sell this as a genuine garden tool. The line kept breaking within seconds of starting, it wouldn’t feed out new line. Just a complete waste of money. It wasn’t expensive but regardless of that it should do the basic job.

Oh, a MacAllister garden shredder from B&Q. Just the worst money I’ve ever spent. Six hours in the garden today, less than an hour actually shredding, the rest of the time spent replacing 13A fuses, resetting the trip switch, unjamming the blades and then dismantling the whole damn thing to no avail. And then replacing plug fuses and unjamming the blades. Again.

Very poor customer service from Mac Tools UK! Purchased a mac tools screwdriver about 8 years ago and it broke back in 2023. This was replaced after sending it back without any query. The new item has broken two years later and now they refuse to do anything with it as they need the proof of purchase which I no longer have. They say they will phone me back after discussing it with somebody higher up but 4 weeks I have been chasing. I finally got to talk to the person that was dealing with it and now they say their process has changed recently, so what is the point of "lifetime" warranty when it isn't. Snap-On and other companies replace them without question so why can't they be the same? I will no longer buy anything from Mac Tools due to this very poor experience.

Absolute garbage and a waste of your money. I bought the cordless screwdriver. Wouldn't run a screw through a pack of butter. DON'T waste your time or money.

Charger for drill developed bare wires at both ends after only reasonable usage. This is a dangerous fault and should be rectified before a user is seriously injured by an electric shock. Dreadful design; cheap and nasty.

Worst tool company of the big 3. Our shop has been in business over 20 years and out of those years Mac Tools has only had this route covered for maybe 5-6 years, I am probably being generous with that statement. We are in a well populated city, it is not like we are in the middle of no where so there is no excuse for them not servicing our area. Matco and Snap On have consistently had drivers that stop to service us. It seems Mac does not care about existing customers and their tool needs. Now when we need our Mac tools warrantied we are forced to pay shipping to send them to Mac. Part of this lifetime warranty is having the ability to get them replaced free and easily, not have to spend our hard earned money to get them replaced. We will never spend another dollar on Mac tools.

Reading mac tools is the worst tools dealer I’ve dealt with got thousands of pounds of tools and now my guns are out of warranty but doesn’t work, it’s an absolute joke. Using Zain snap on whose faultless

I bought a Mac Allister MGS 1815-Li Garden Pruner Mini Saw and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever bought. No guts, always jamming for no reason. Almost impossible to get spares for, shouldn’t be on sale to anyone. Cuts through wood like using a butter knife on granite

I only used mac tools cause it was convenient to have the truck account for a tool I need right then and there but for how much they charge for there awful quality tools is not ok. If you need a tool warranty don't worry it will only take a couple weeks if not a month to get it and if you miss 2 payments no matter how much you owe even if you owe 100 bucks they will threaten to take your stuff or make a big deal about it and accuse you of running and hiding from payments. Take it easy guys your not snapon not at all I will only go through amazon or snapon from now on I will never ever go through mac the rest of my life and I have spent thousands on that truck and regret every penny ever spent.

My Partner has the Maximiser Tool Box, this box is massive but it is broken. Mac Tools are the pits.....
We have been waiting for nearly 1 year for someone to come and repair it. Our Rep is at his wits end trying to get something done for us. When the box was bought it was given a lifetime warranty. Come on Mac Tools get your act together and make my day!!!!!

This fly by night company wants me to pay to ship a broken socket that they are just going to throw away—they won’t accept pictures.Just another way to discourage warranty claims and waste time waiting on them to send out Replacements after they receive the broken items they will throw away!?Now I realize why there are no “Mac” trucks in central Florida—that’s right—there is Snap on & Matco—you do the math.I broke an impact socket without using an impact…and they give me the run around.This company is on a down hill slide.Might as well buyHarbor freight tools—at least they are local & stand behind their products.

I’ve been buy Mac tools since 1979.
No problems. Ever. I’ve never had a truck account. I pay as I buy. I still have first tools I ever bought off the truck. Anything I needed warranty they do on the spot. I still have air tools from the 1980’s that still work fine. I’ve never had a bad tool truck guy from Mac. And never had a good honest one from other tool trucks..

I paid for a brand new tool box couple years ago and what I got was two used boxes that both had drawer issues I was told to make one out of the two and that was my new toolbox since the day I got it I've had nothing but trouble with the drawers. The sliders come apart constantly the top drawer came all the way out landed on the floor then it sat on my bench for 8 months before I got a new set of sliders I was told repeatedly will get you another box we'll straighten it out I made my fourth call to Mac tools today in the last couple years and the person who sold it to me just simply lied about it and they seem to be fine with that. I'm 53 years old I've been buying tools for my whole life never have I ever been treated this way by any tool company they don't call me they don't send me anything they just said well you must have overloaded it which wasn't even close to being true. They just didn't care I don't get it how can you treat a customer this way. All I'm asking for is what I paid for..

Absolutely ZERO customer service! Refuses to back their product. Their franchisee can basically do whatever they want and lie. Corporate lied as well. Guess it's part of their business model.

This goes for their finance company as well.

I highly recommend avoiding Mac and Mac Credit (Greensky) at ALL costs!
